Today I’m going to go with the low-hanging fruit – especially since there’s such an abundant crop to pick!  Most will slant humorous, but a few have a serious message.

We all got a chuckle when Ted Cruz was pilloried for his flight to Cancún during the winter storm that ravaged Texas.  Ted had to slink back home with his tail tucked between his legs – but sporting a brand new hairdo!

Gov. Abbott rightfully earned FOUR Pinocchios for his mendacious claim that frozen wind turbines were the cause of Texas’ travails.

On a serious note, the question we face as a nation is this:  Can a country survive if it bases its decisions on lies?

Of course, we all realize that there is more than one side to any issue.  But republicans never seem to find a side that has even a kernel of truth to it.

I mean, doesn’t it seem odd how wind turbines “froze” in Texas – but did just fine in frigid Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Norway?

Texas Republicans: “I’ll vote for Democrats when hell freezes over”

Mother Nature: “Deal!”

Twitter had a few observations of the Cruz Cancún fiasco:

How about closing the fun part with a lively song:

And on another serious note, Julián Castro had a fantastic Spot-On “Take Home” Message valid at any time – but particularly when a city, state or nation is faced with a crisis:

“Don’t ever put people in charge of government who don’t believe in government.”

A huge “THANK YOU!” to Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré for calling Josh Hawley a “Little Piece Of Sh*t” which ran as a chyron on Tfucker (the “T” is silent) Carlson’s show while Hawley was speaking.

“This little piece of sh*t with his Yale law degree should be run out of DC and Disbarred ASAP,” Honoré wrote of Hawley in a since-deleted tweet on Jan. 12.

Last and always least, MTG Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to block the Equality Act with language that was (while certainly in character for Greene) particularly vile and hurtful to Rep. Marie Newman whose daughter is transgender.

So Rep. Newman did what any proud mother would do – supported her daughter.

Being the petty little _____ (fill-in the blank with your own X-rated epithet), MTG tried to retaliate using her faux “christianity” …

But Twitter was having none of it!

(To understand a few of these, you should know that MTG openly and knowingly cheated on her husband with a tantric sex cult guru and at least one other male at the same time, and numerous times.)

SORRY – I don’t know how to get rid of the lead “Blank” source Tweet

I was inspired to create my own sign, but since I don’t belong to Twitter I’ll have to be content to post it here.

So while I’ve lost a great source for mocking (ByeDon!), it looks like Cruz, Hawley and Greene will be picking up the slack!

I’m still exhausted, but things are moving ahead.  I have my formal intake interview with Providence Home Hospice tomorrow.  They will come here to meet with Wendy and I, evaluate my needs, and set up a plan to meet them.  So I’ll know more soon, but in the meantime, I have a lot of records to collect.

Yesterday Nameless suggested that I should learn about deep breathing for stress management.  Rather than leave that in comments, I want to move that up to front street.  Not only am I familiar with deep breathing for stress management, I’ve been teaching it to my my guys as part of my prison volunteer work for over twenty years.  I am especially thankful to Nameless for bringing it up, because the stress came on me so fast that I completely forgot to use the technique myself.  Now I am using it and it is helping.  Thank you, good friend!

Now, I need a nap.  TGIF!

It’s an exhausted day here in the CatBox.  In a telephone conference, Evelyn, my former Oncologist, explained that as a doctor she must recommend curative solutions.  She agreed that the only thing she has to offer (chemo) will probably kill me.  Therefore she referred me to Providence Home Hospice yesterday afternoon.  WWWendy will be contacting them today to set up an appointment for an evaluation to set up a service plan.  What I do know is that all my medical care, will be provided by hospice and, except for emergency care, take place at home.  I’ll learn more as time goes on.  WWWendy is doing my grocery shopping today and will bring us subs for lunch.  My stress level has been through the roof, and I have had very little sleep.  I’ll keep you posted.  God bless and have a fine day.

The Lincoln Project – The “New” Republican Party –

Meidas Touch Podcast with Malcolm Nance – “Vanilla Isis”

Really American – Flori-duh. Glenn talks more slowly and uses more logic on his own show (Justice Matters) but they’re kind of long.

Justice Matters – See, I told you Glenn could talk more calmly. Of course, that kind of makes it longer. Still under 10 minutes, though.

The last day has brought a few changes that will be difficult for me to deal with.  First, WWWendy, who is coming this afternoon, has two other jobs, both of which have been at least partially on hold because of the Republican plague.  Next month, she has to return to both, full time, which means she’ll have a lot less time to spend on me, when I need it most.  I’ll have to juggle patch changing with home health nurses, get showers on a less regular schedule, and take long and excruciatingly painful Lift Bus trips to the doctor, if I’m able to do that at all.  As frustrating as that is to me, I have to recognize that she can’t give up her main employment to take care of me, when I won’t be around that long anyway.  In addition, I heard from my Oncologist yesterday.  She wrote me that, even without contrast, the my CT Scan in the ER is so obvious that there is no need for another.  She wrote that I can go back to chemo or go into the home hospice program.  Chemo would likely kill me from septic shock, like it almost did twice before. That’s a terrible death, IMHO.  In any case, I’m going to have to spend the next few days reorganizing my life.  I’ve left out a lot of info, because there is so much that I don’t know yet.  I’ll keep you posted as I learn more.  Happy Hump Day.

Meidas Touch (podcast)

Now This News – No comment.

Really American – We all know this by now, but the “shock” is kind of fun.

“End notes” to “The Alt-Right Playbook” I haven’t seen enough yet to decide whether I should intersperse them orlistthem separately when I make the compendium … so that will be delayed somewhat. End note 1:

After the first meeting, and before they got used to each other, Cole and Marmalade did this.
