It’s a mixed day here in the CatBox.  I plan to stay in bed early, resting as much as I can.  WWWendy is coming at around 3:00 PM to destink the TomCat and prepare for the move.  I’ll learn mire about the rest of the week when she gets here.  Happy Easter to you all.

  1. Cartoon: I remember this day like it was yesterday. One of profound sadness, and the loss of a wonderful, profound and great man. It was a very sad day!
    BFTP: A great song!!

Hi Wendy! Get your rest, Tom, and enjoy your day. Take good, good care, and Happy Easter to you and Wendy too!
PP people: To all who share this holiday – “Happy Easter everyone”  *pb*

*This just in: “MLB moves all-Star games over GA voting law. I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s all star game and MLB DRAFT.” ~ Robert Manfred – MBL Commissioner ~
    2. “Announcing that there is another Florida politician involved doesn’t really narrow down the field. You have Stone, the corrupt Governor, then OFM himself, and Gaetz. More corrupt politicians down there then alligators.” ~ Randall Y. ~
    3. “My heart is heavy. One of our US Capitol Police officers has passed away protecting our Democracy. I’m keeping their family, loved ones and the entire Capitol Police force in my prayers.” ~ Amy Klobuchar ~
    4. “Strange how all the folks looking for Hunter Biden’s laptop are totally uninterested in Matt Gaetz’s phone.”
    ~ Brooklyn Dad Defiant ~
    5. “New Zealand raises minimum wages to $20.00 an hour, and increases taxes on the rich.” ~ Faiz ~

    • 1 – That was definitely the right thing to do, although in hurting Georgia’s pocktbook, it will also hurt the pocketbooks of ordinary Georgians, as Stacey Adams reminded us while also supporting it.
      TJI #2 – Sadly – truth.
TJI #3 – Amy, like Claire, keeps looking better and better. It’s good to hear their voices, even when the topic is sad.
TJI #4 – Is anyone surprised?
TJI #5 – Not only that – but they approved family leave for families who have suffered a miscarriage.

      • TJI#1: I was happy that the Baseball season has started. I was ecstatic that the MLB was paying close attention to what Georgia pulled off last week with them making voting rights restricted. My home city. San Diego is saying on the news this morning that we’re trying to get the All-Star Games to move here. I hope they do.
TJI#3: I couldn’t of said it better than Amy. Bless Amy for speaking for another senseless deadly act.
        TJI#4: Foolish ones.
TJI#5: Good for them…Great news. Nice to see that they care about the people.

    • TJI#1: A home run!
TJI#2: I’ve got some pictures of our local Florida ‘gators, if anyone wants one.  Maybe we could feed some of the pols to them.
TJI#3: Sad!  One more tragedy to put at the OFM’s feet.
      TJI#4: What else is new?
      TJI#5: SOCIALISTS!!!!!!

    • TJI #5 We should be so lucky.  But since we liberals are a fact-based lot, we should note that $20 NZD converts to $14.06 USD – which I think we’d all be ecstatic to see here!

      https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=20&From=NZD&To=USD

    • TJI #5: Jacinda Ardern and her Labour Party (Social Democrats in my book) rule! These days there are moments I feel a tinge of regret that we didn’t move one country further south.

    • Who can forget.  As soon as I saw it on TV, I wailed in abject misery for hours, because he knew they were going to murder him. 04

  2. Easter greetings, TC, Wendy and all! Hope your day goes well. Great comments, as always,P. Bowen. The Resist Cat from previous day looks like a youngster of mine. I named him Lewis Warnock! Rev. Sharpton reminded us on his show last evening re: April 4 anniv.  Take care & stay safe.    P.S. TC, I keep forgetting to thank you for your great taste in music and also for your prisoner work.

    • Nice to see you – I don’t always say  that, though I should.  Thank you for taking care of cats (I know, that is its own reward, but thanks anyway.)

    • Hiya Spy.  In return I thank you for your presence here, with the caveat that we want much more of it!  So, Y’all come back now, heah?  02

  3. 29   18  Thank you, SpyKat.

  4. Hi, TC!  Reading through your comments of this past week, I’m reminded AGAIN of how lucky you are to have WENDY in your world!  So glad you’ll be moving to her neighborhood and won’t be losing her!  Of course we’ll all want to see photos of the new ”digs.”  Can’t wait, actually!  Did the rabbit drop by your place with some eggs?

(PS….am I the only one who can remember the spun-sugar eggs with a hole in one end and a little scene inside?  Of course, this was only a few months after the ORIGINAL Easter…..)

    • I remember those – but I haven’t thought of them for ages, and wouldn’t have not had you not reminded me.

    • I too remember those Easter Eggs from when I was younger. I may still have some of them packed away from my my earlier years. Thanks for the nice memory, Pam

    • No. I remember them from my childhood in The Netherlands too. I was given one once and kept it as long as possible until the echolocate started to turn white under its sugar coating. It was quite inedible by then, never meant for consumption in the first place.

    • Pam, I’m afraid my Easter egg was scrambled with melted cheese.  It was good, though! 25

  5. As soon as I read about the toxic leak and possible overflow in Manatee County, Florida, I emailed my friend (“adopted sister”) who lives there and told her that if she was evacuating she should not email me back until she is in a safe place and can do so. I did hear, after several hours, that her home is not affected, and that she was well aware of the situation. Not surprising.. She s a trained/educated specialist in water quality, and in fact worked in that field for Florida for many years until she retired (before that she worked in Arizona, and before that, in Alaska.)

Dear TC – and Dear WWWendy – may your Easter be as joyous as it can possibly be. May the move ahead be smooth and as painless as it can possibly be.  I am confident you (both) will be in everyone’s hearts prayers every moment.

Cartoon – That was a time when assassination, and then assassination attempts, happened. I fear we are not far away from another such time. They seem to come at times when progress is being made. Heaven bless all who are charged with predicting and preventing them – bless them and keep them dedicated and faithful.

    Blast – Yes.

    • Joanne, I think that your comment about the shootings is a reflection on how crazed some people can get, as we’ve seen all too much lately, when they see progress as threatening.

    • Seeing that bunny w/ those particular sunglasses I immediately thought of Anne Sullivan (Anne Bancroft) in the Miracle Worker about Helen Keller (Patty Duke).

      “W – A – T – E – R … WATER. It has a name!”

    • Thanks, JD.  We need all the prayers we can get. 23

  6. Cartoon: Sad day indeed. He was one who was for the people. We honor and will always cherish his words.
BFTP: Great tune by the Byrds.
“Happy Easter” TomCat and everyone else here at the site.
I hope you’re able to get all of the rest you needed today, so you’ll be ready for the upcoming move this week.
Tell Wendy “Hello” and “thanks for helping you”, that we truly appreciate all she’s does for you.
    Take care.

  7. MLK, what a shame, as the GOP tries to take the country back to the time before he ever becme active.
    BFP: Love it!

  8. P.S.: A Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!

  9. Great to hear you’re getting your rest – because, no doubt, the rest of the week will be busy!

  10. Rest and then enjoy your Easter, TomCat. Hard-boiled eggs get stuck in the mesh, if I remember correctly, so stick to the chocolate ones, preferably the dark ones which are low in sugar.

Cartoon: Such a terribly sad day. I hope this Easter will be more of the celebration of his beautiful spirit than the past years under the former guy.

BFTP: Remember those times when anything could be turned into a wonderful pop song; Turn! Turn! Turn! Morning has broken, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme…Is that still happening, do you think?

    • It can still happen, but to make it happen the Republican Reich must fade from memory like the smell of a vile fart.  07

  11. Thanks and Monday Hugs to all! 19
