Monologue: Government By Mad-Libs

On Melania… Send her back! Send here back!! Do it for her sake!

Marianne Williamson

I have nothing against her personally, but she has no business running for President.

New Rule: Trump Fatigue

Trump fatigue is a universal ailment for all but the bottom of the intellectual barrel. Republican Sheeple.  To cure it, eat fruit.  Have an impeach.

I liked the New Rule.

I had a night’s sleep, but I still feel extremely tired.  Why won’t the litter from tiny old CatBox fit in the bigger new CatBox?  Tomorrow please expect no more than a Personal Update.  It’s a WWWendy day, and we still have a shitload of work to do.

The move yesterday was horrid.  The movers arrived a 7:45 PM.  WWWendy left and I went to bed at 12:45 AM.  Not used to the shiny new CatBox, I slept poorly, and I feel exhausted.  The cable installation was as professional as the move was inexcusable.  His service was above and beyond the call.  This is my only article today.  I should have more tomorrow.

Democratic Debate 7/30

I did not realize that the Debate was on CNN, and to my dismay, I could not watch it, because CNN isn’t in my channel lineup until Friday.  So everything I have to say is second hand.  I found a good summary and have five video clips of after debate coverage by MSNBC.  From what I understand, the overall winner was Elizabeth Warren.

0731debate

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass: She stuck to her sharp attacks on corporations, promoted her progressive plans and dominated much of the night. Rather than going after Bernie Sanders — her closest rival in the polls, who stood next to her on stage — Warren came to his defense while effectively fending off attacks from more moderate candidates.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.: Sanders brought his typical forceful debating style and clear message. He traded punches with the moderates who attacked his plans and unabashedly touted his movement for radical change in America. And he held on to his position in the top tier of candidates.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana: His strongest moments came when he talked about his faith and military service, pledging to withdraw troops from Afghanistan in his first year. He struggled with a question about race relations and at times got lost in policy nuance. While his campaign has lost steam, he played it safe and shied away from broadsides at other candidates.

Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke: As in the first debate, he lacked a moment that differentiated him from the pack or clearly defined what he stood for. His once-promising campaign has been flat-lining — and nothing he did Tuesday night is likely to alter that trajectory.

Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney: On policy, he provided the biggest contrast with Sanders and Warren with a pro-business, capitalist message, particularly on health care. And Delaney held his ground amid blows from Sanders and Warren, who accused him of using Republican talking points.

Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio: He had a much stronger performance than in the first debate, better establishing himself as the blue-collar candidate. Ryan took on the policies of Warren and Sanders and offered a warning to the progressive pair that their proposals would alienate working-class voters — like those in his Midwest district — and hand Trump a second term… [emphasis original]

According to the article, the other four failed to stand our.

Elizabeth Warren: Medicare For All Is Cheaper Than Our Current System

I was pleased with what I heard on how she did. She should just say that, while average Americans’ taxes will increase, their out of pocket medical expense will decrease far more.

Beto O’Rourke Says Texas Is In Play For Democrats In 2020

I’d love to see TX flip blue.

Kornacki: Sanders, Warren ‘Appealing To Different Coalitions With A Very Similar Message’

I’m glad they are concentrating ideas, not conflict.

Democrats Hit Donald Trump On Racist Attacks On Night One Of Second Debate

Trump is not a racist, the Pope is not Catholic, and bears never, ever shit in the woods.

Debate Night 1: Progressives Vs. Moderates Square Off

I have to admit that we need to phase-in single payer health care. I like a Medicare for All plan with an opt out option for people whose employers and unions want to offer them private insurance.

There you have it.  If you saw the debate, what did you think?

It’s my last full day here in the crappy old CatBox.  I’d hoped that the move would go smoothly, but CCC could ruin a wet dream.  The movers were supposed to be here first thing in the morning.  That has now changed to “sometime in the afternoon”.  ARGH!  I will be SO glad when this mess is over.  Tomorrow I will post a brief personal update early and go back to bed to rest until late morning.  I hope to post another brief personal update, on Friday afternoon, assuming that my cable install is smooth.

From The New Yorker: Pushing back against charges that Senator Mitch McConnell is a Russian asset, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said on Tuesday that McConnell “has never been an asset to any country.”

“You can scour the four corners of the globe, and you will not find a nation that would ever in a million years consider Mitch McConnell an asset,” Putin said.

The Russian President urged pundits who have called McConnell a Russian asset “to look up the word ‘asset’ in the dictionary.”

“You will find that ‘asset’ means a useful or valuable thing,” Putin said. “The only part of that definition that fits McConnell is ‘thing.’ ”

Dang, Andy! Putin [R-RU] does have a point, but McConnell sure is trying hard to help Russia. Do you think Putin has a pee-pee tape starring Bought Bitch Moscow Mitch? RESIST!!

Here is the one hundred sixty-third article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s winner is Republican white Supremacist Santino William Legan. He is so honored for murdering two Latino children and a Black man for his Fuhrer.

0730gilroyAn Instagram post connected to the 19-year-old who killed three people at a food festival in Northern California points to literature that is part of an ecosystem of white nationalist literature, according to extremism researchers.

On Sunday, police officers shot and killed Santino William Legan at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California, after he opened fire at the event. Earlier the same day, a post appeared on an Instagram page attributed to him referring to a proto-fascist white supremacist manifesto by a pseudonymous 19th-century author.

NBC News has declined to identify the literature by name in order to limit its spread.

According to extremism researchers, the manifesto is part of a collection of white nationalist literature that’s been pirated and distributed for free on far-right websites. The material is part of a yearslong recruiting technique by white nationalists to target those vulnerable to their message on forums frequently populated by teenagers.

The book strongly advocates combat, violence and death along racial lines, and is filled with anti-Semitic rhetoric. It is a staple among neo-Nazis and white supremacists on extremist sites such as 4chan’s /pol/ board, National Vanguard, Stormfront and The Daily Stormer. Links to the PDF version of the book have been posted hundreds of times on 4chan in the last several years, including as recently as last month… [emphasis added]

Here’s a brief video linking this Republican to the shooting and the Might is Right manifesto.

The greatest terrorist threat in this nation is not Muslims.  It is not Latino gangs.  It is the Republican Reich for continuing to inculcate hatred in Republican Nazis like this one.

It’s a muggy day here in the crappy old CatBox.  I assume that the Cat Scan showed nothing bad.  It was an unpleasant experience, because I had to guzzle over a liter of cat pee, and when it was over they lied to me.  They said there is no cat.  Who should I think did the Cat Scan a dawg?!!? Dawgs are for eating, not scanning!  I should be in the saddle today and tomorrow.  Thursday is moving Day. I’ll post a minimal Personal Update early in the Morning and, if my Friday morning cable installation is smooth, another on Friday PM.  I’ll be back on the weekend.

From Think Progress: Imagine the utter contempt that Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) must hold for the American people.

“Again and again, Democrats have refused to join Republicans in guaranteeing coverage for pre-existing conditions,” Cornyn tweeted Monday morning. The tweet was in response to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stating it had been two years since Senate Democrats blocked President Donald Trump from repealing critical health care rules…

…In 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act — a law that, among other things, ensured that insurance companies can no longer discriminate against people with preexisting conditions.

Every single Senate Democrat voted for these protections for people with preexisting conditions. Every single Senate Republican opposed these protections.

Cornhole Cornyn is doing what Republicans do best: lie. RESIST!!
