I had a night’s sleep, but I still feel extremely tired.  Why won’t the litter from tiny old CatBox fit in the bigger new CatBox?  Tomorrow please expect no more than a Personal Update.  It’s a WWWendy day, and we still have a shitload of work to do.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:07 (average 5:52).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. 5:42 Those things are HEAVY!

Breakfast looks wonderful. I found some organic Colorado cherries. They aren’t Oregon cherries, but they will have to do.

I tacked this on to yesterday, but it bears repeating. I have not seen this anywhere else (I gather there is much about it on Twitter) and I consider it a “must-see.” As are the comments.

Trae – Well, there definitely is a lot of material out there. This particular situation is truly sad. We can hope his license gets suspended … that should at least give Coffee County a short respite … but, you know, they elected him, so does the majority of residents even want a respite?

MSNBC – You have to wonder what these Rethuglican Congressfolk are thinking. Sure, they are thinking they would lose if they ran. But what do they think is going to happen instead? Do they think a new Rethug can win, or do they think a Democrat will win? Generally speaking, it’s much harder to unseat an incumbent than to win a race where neither is an incumbent. But do they think the next Rethug candidate won’t be equally tarnished by association with Trump? Or maybe they don’t even care, as long as they are out of it.

Greenland – 2100 – Not too may people alive now are going to be alive then. Sadly, that makes it easier to ignore.

Cartoon – Three cheers for Cousin Pole!

    • This just in – from the Project on Government Oversight – The “military-industrial complex” that President (and five-star Army general) Dwight Eisenhower warned us of in 1961 has funneled down to a few “Walmarts of war.”

  2. Trae: Spot on, Trae !

MSNBC: Jumping from a sinking ship, and don’t want to have their name associated w/dt??

YT: How very depressingly sad, and horrible for all of us!! and the animals too!

Cartoon: What a good boy/girl !! Do it again!

GREAT pictures!! Get your rest, take it easy, and take good care, and Thanks, Tom. Hi Wendy!

*This just in: “dt will gladly send firefighters to Russia, but barely helped Puerto Rico, our own citizens..with hurricane relief.” ~ anon ~

    3. Best quote from the debates, Moderator: “What would be the first thing you do as President?” “Clorox the Oval Office.” ~ Kirsten Gillibrand ~

  3. Trae: It’s not often that one hears of the use of “Troglodyte,” but Trae found a most apt place for it!
MSNBC: “…stained by Donald Trump.”  So, SOME Americans, who thought the Dumpster was a great deal, are finally realizing that he’s a paper savior?  It took over 10,000 lies, and other garbage to spew from his main sphincter, to get to them?  Well, better late than never, and when he looses in a major way, perhaps his implosion will be complete; we will see the color of vacuum!
HT: Looks like an alien water world 73 million light years away.  I doubt that that land is arable, but if it is maybe work can be started to plant forests there…just sayin’.
‘Toon: Skunks have survived into the Anthropocene because they are clever!
    TC: Nice pics, enjoy!!!!!!!!

  4. I get a huge kick out of your sharing photos of your new home!  Stunning sunset – and may you enjoy many, many more!

But I’m having problems identifying your breakfast – other than the toast.  The fruit is too big for cherries and too small for plums.  And I think the other was scrambled eggs.

So I did a “Google Image Search” and it came up w/:

Tafelspitz (German Tafelspitz, literally meaning tip (of meat) for the table) is boiled veal or beef in broth, served with a mix of minced apples and horseradish.

    • Actually, Oregon cherries (some of then) are that big.  That’s part of why I’ve been so green with envy ever since the subject came up.

      • REALLY?  I LOVE cherries!  Next to pineapple bought in Hawaii (where you can actually eat the core!), cherries are my favorite fruit!

What’s the name of those cherries?  Do they taste like the Bing cherries from like Michigan that we’re familiar with?

        • Unfortunately I inherited from my mother’s side an inability to be very accurate in perceiving tastes, let alone describing them.  But they are dark red in color and quite sweet as well as being large, and supermarkets have no trouble getting people to pay $6 for a 12-ounce can here in Colorado Springs.  I can only guess what the going rate is in New York or Silicon Valley.  And the canned ones are only a shadow.

  5. “Why won’t the litter from tiny old CatBox fit in the bigger new CatBox?”

It’s weird isn’t it, i know exactly what you mean!!

    Awesome view, TC!

  6. It’ll all fit in, TC…eventually!  THANKS for the photo of your view==that’s a good one and you’ll have fun watching weather, birds, etc.  Moving is SO difficult–but we all know it’ll get better.  Sorry the circumstances were ugly but…the place seems good.  Believe me, TC….if I could, I’d throw you a HOUSEWARMING and stock your freezer with food that only needs a microwave to put it on your table!  Sorry I can’t do that….

    Hang in!

  7. Trae: Good one.
MSNBC: Agree with Pat that they are all jumping off the ship. Wish many more would, like tRump and mItch the Bi*ch.
YT: Very sad to continue hearing the depressing news. Wish the idiots in office would give a damn.
Beautiful view, TC. I would love to be able to enjoy one like that. Hope everything starts to get better now that you are finally there.

  8. Trae Crowder: Good to see Trae showing up Talibangelists at work in American Communities, far from the maddening DC crowd, but it’s scary that they’re there at all and even scarier how much influence they yield.

MSNBC: The more, the merrier and “when there is one sheep over the dam, more will follow”(Dutch proverb), which seems just right when describing Republicans disassociating themselves from Trump.

YouTube: Couldn’t watch, too depressive to handle right now.

Cartoon: So you’re actually Peppé le Pew, a skunk impersonating a cat, are you, TomCat? 😁 Personally, I think the time is ripe for tar and feathers.

Glad to hear you came through the ordeal of moving OK, TomCat. You’ll have to live in the new surroundings a few days to get the feel of it and find the right spot to put all of your stuff and still be able to easily move around in a chair. Sometimes that means buying longer cables to put a desk or TV further away from the connection. But for now, you’re probably just glad you made the move.

  9. Oregon Cherries.  They are a bit sweeter than Bing, but become bland at the very end of the season. 25

  10. Thanks and way pooped hugs to all. 29
