It’s my last full day here in the crappy old CatBox. I’d hoped that the move would go smoothly, but CCC could ruin a wet dream. The movers were supposed to be here first thing in the morning. That has now changed to “sometime in the afternoon”. ARGH! I will be SO glad when this mess is over. Tomorrow I will post a brief personal update early and go back to bed to rest until late morning. I hope to post another brief personal update, on Friday afternoon, assuming that my cable install is smooth.

RR – In all fairness, the Defense budget includes all pensions to retired officers, NCOs, and totally or partially disabled service people of any rank. I don’t have figures on how much money that includes, and, in any case, if Republicans ever did decide to even LOOK at the defense budget, that would be the first thing they would look at. It should be the last thing, of course. The first thing which should be looked at would be spending on defense contractors. But no Republican would dare look at that.

If memory serves, the Pentagon couldn’t even pass an audit – and can’t account for some $1 trillion dollars. ONE TRILLION [BLEEP] DOLLARS! Any other government department would have its bottom reamed out if it had either of these egregious shortcomings.

It is soooooooooooooooooo muggy today, especially tonight. We may get some downpours Thursday night/Friday morning but the weekend is supposed to be sunny and hot. It is a long weekend here — Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I think I’ll volunteer to work at 7-11 in the coolers! Happy moving! I hope all goes smoothly despite the one hiccup so far.
