From Daily Kos: Donald Trump, deplorable in chief, has no qualms whatsoever about the increased number of death threats Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar has been receiving since he tweeted a video of edited 9/11 footage interspersed with remarks Omar had made to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Taken out of context, the video made Omar sound as if she was dismissive of the terror attack, when Omar was clearly making the case that more than a billion Muslims were not responsible for the actions of 19 hijackers, 16 of which came from Trump’s favorite ally, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, Trump saw his moment to pounce and take the most racist track possible, loudly barking to his followers that Omar wasn’t American at all, and suggesting she had allegiances elsewhere. Of course, Trump has a history of questioning the loyalty of American citizens of color. Look no further than his racist birther attacks on President Obama for another crystal-clear example.
Why would Trump have regrets because of death threats against Omar. Those threats, especially if carried out, are the reason he did it. RESIST!!

We already know that Putin’s Puppet hired Coverup General William Barr, aka Barrf, to lie, cheat and abuse the DOJ to protect his Fuhrer from consequences so thoroughly deserved. I wondered how Trump was able to predict that Barrf would protect him so thoroughly. Then I learned that Barrf has priors.
…Barr’s stated position is that the redactions will be as narrow as they can be to ensure transparency. But once the redacted report is released, it’s safe to assume that some skepticism about what was withheld will continue.
Particularly given Barr’s track record, as New York University professor of law Ryan Goodman wrote on Monday at the site Just Security, where he’s a co-editor-in-chief.
Goodman, who is a former Defense Department special counsel, details a remarkably similar fight from 1989 in which Barr, then head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, was involved. The OLC had determined that the FBI was allowed to take people into custody in foreign countries without the consent of those countries’ governments — a ruling that seemed to pave the way, Goodman notes, for the eventual arrest of former Panamanian leader Manuel Antonio Noriega.
This was a contentious position to take, and Barr was asked to provide the memo offering the detailed legal rationale for allowing such detentions. He declined, instead offering a 13-page document that “summarizes the principal conclusions.” When Congress, and then The Washington Post, obtained the full opinion in 1991, it was quickly noted that several conclusions from the full document hadn’t been included in Barr’s summary. Foremost among them was that the opinion authorized the president of the United States to ignore the United Nations Charter….

From The New Yorker: Americans are in a state of abject panic amid reports that Donald J. Trump is threatening to dump thousands of fired Cabinet members and aides on cities that do not support him.
Harland Dorrinson, who lives in San Francisco, said that “every American should be alarmed” at the spectre of former Trump staffers like Kirstjen Nielsen, Scott Pruitt, and Anthony Scaramucci descending on their towns.
“A lot of these people were unsavory to begin with, and their time at the White House only hardened them,” he said.

I like Rep. Ilhan Omar. She’s got spunk. At the same time, I recognize that her inexperience has led her to factual errors and statements that were too easy to misunderstand. If someone disagrees or want’s to correct her errors, they are free to do so. They are not free to set her up to suffer injury or death from a violent attack. However that is exactly what Trump and his Republican Reich are trying to do.
Rep. Ilhan Omar says she’s faced increased death threats since President Donald Trump spread around a video that purports to show her being dismissive of the 2001 terrorist attacks. “This is endangering lives,” she said, accusing Trump of fomenting right-wing extremism. “It has to stop.”
Her statement late Sunday followed an announcement by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she has taken steps to ensure the safety of the Minnesota Democrat and the speaker’s call for Trump to take down the video.
Soon after Pelosi’s statement, the video disappeared as a pinned tweet at the top of Trump’s Twitter feed, but it was not deleted.
Pelosi was among Democrats who had criticized Trump over the tweet, with some accusing him of trying to incite violence against the Muslim lawmaker. An upstate New York man recently was charged with making death threats against her… [emphasis added]

From The Guardian: …Bernie Sanders will finish a four-day tour of Trump Country on Monday, with a town hall on the president’s favorite network: Fox News.
It is an unexpected partnership, between a self-described democratic socialist and a media outlet that dedicates primetime to pundits who rail against a purported “creep” of socialism.
The event will be staged in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a state Trump won by less than 1%, and it will be moderated by Fox anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.
Sanders is the first Democratic presidential candidate to appear on the network for such an event. He says it is a way to speak directly to Trump supporters, to make the case that the president is a “pathological liar” who has misled the working class. The booking is also important for Fox News, which was banned from hosting a Democratic primary debate.
Among Democrats, the booking has drawn criticism. Progressive groups are urging presidential contenders to boycott the network whose stream of pro-Trump commentary has led critics to liken it to unofficial “state TV”.
As much as I detest the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, I’m trying to remain open minded about this. The huge number of voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin get all their propaganda from Faux Noise. That may be the only way to expose them to truth about their Fuhrer. Nevertheless, I won’t be watching it. RESIST!!
From Alternet: CNN’s John Avlon on Monday ran down years’ worth of President Donald Trump’s lies in a short three-minute video.
During his “Reality Check” segment titled “Does Trump know we have video of his speeches?”, Avlon took the president and his White House to task for constantly reversing positions they’ve held in the past — and then shamelessly lying about it.
I’d make a two-faced graphic of Trump, except for one thing. No barf bag is big and strong enough to contain the response. RESIST!!
