Fuhrer Ignores SCROTUS

To my great surprise the Injustices at SCROTUS (Republican Anti-Constitutional VD) ruled that the Republican Reich cannot put their citizenship question on the 2020 census, because they lied that it was to enable the Voting Rights Act, when their memo said it was to gain a Republican electoral advantage by suppressing the Latino vote.  The Fuhrer is ignoring it.  Will he disobey?

President Donald Trump on Thursday called for delaying the once-in-a-decade US census after the Supreme Court blocked his bid to add a question on citizenship — a measure critics say would result in undercounting immigrants.

Chief Justice John Roberts tipped the balance in a 5-4 vote by siding with the court’s liberal minority, boosting those trying to stop the Trump administration from adding the question to the 2020 census.

The decision said that the government’s arguments were “contrived.” However, the court potentially left the door open for a new appeal — and Trump said he’d try.

Not having the citizenship question is “totally ridiculous,” argued Trump, who is in Japan for the G20 summit…

Trump now says he will delay the census until SCROTUS can revisit the decision.  Legal experts say he can’t.

Trump’s reasons were bogus, and I suspect that he will disobey the Court and include the question.  But what if he doesn’t obey?  Either way 2020 will change the electoral landscape for decades.

As important as it is to rid the federal government of Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten, Vice Fuhrer Pukenpence and the rest of the Republican Reich, we need to invest at least as much effort into flushing Republicans from state government.

It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  I spent four hour in blog maintenance, a large part of which was installing security software and filters incoming traffic and block Republican and Russian bots that are attacking the site thousands of times per hour.  (ADMINISTRATORS:  If it says your Name and/or Password are on their “bots might have it” list, it will warn you to change your password.  If you are locked out, email me to assign you a new password).  I’m feeling much better now, after flushing half the Republican Party.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update, with no links messages on Care2.  It will be a WWWendy day.  I’m late and rushing.

His misstatements on this subject have caught up to him. Biden should come clean, apologize and withdraw. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Elizabeth Warren Channel): Elizabeth Warren speaks at 2019 Rainbow Push Coalition Convention

As usual, Liz scored 11 on the 1 to 10 scale. She’s still my #1.  Kamala moved up to #2.  Bernie fell to #3. RESIST!!

From The Independent: Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has been challenged by members of the crowd after suggesting that mocking a “gay waiter” was seen as socially acceptable five years ago.

Mr. Biden made the remarks at a fundraising event hosted by former Microsoft president Jon Shirley in the wealthy Seattle suburb of Medina, which is home to billionaires including Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos.

The former vice president suggested that half a decade ago, someone at a business lunch could poke fun at a gay waiter and others at the table would silently sit by.

But some in the crowd interjected by saying: “Not in Seattle”.

Why can’t he have an event without a gaffe? He’s just that far out of touch. RESIST!!

Last night I watched the second night of the Democratic debate.  I’ll make this brief, because I agree with the following CNN article.

0628debate2

WINNERS

*Kamala Harris: The California Senator gave the strongest performance not just of Thursday night’s debate but of either nights’ debate. She was calm, poised, knowledgeable and, yes, presidential…

* Pete Buttigieg: If you knew nothing about Buttigieg going into Thursday night, you would have assumed from his performance that a) he was a senator or a governor who had been at this for a long time and b) a co-frontrunner with Harris in the race. That person would be stunned to learn that Buttigieg is currently the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and running at the back of the lead pack. He was serious, smart, thoughtful and probing. * Michael Bennet: Look, I don’t think that the Colorado senator is somehow going to shoot from 1% to relevance in the polls based on his performance in this debate. He wasn’t that good. But, for someone who a) no one knew going into this debate and b) had limited speaking opportunities to make his case, I thought Bennet performed well. Bennet’s incredulity with Biden’s belief that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would start working in a bipartisan way if the former vice president won the White House felt genuine — and was powerful. In short: Bennet came out of this debate looking better than he went into it. Which is a win.

LOSERS

*Joe Biden: Well, that went poorly. From the get-go, Biden seemed too rigidly attached to his stump speech and his talking points. He struggled to fit his points into the 60-second time limit. He got defensive — as we predicted — when Harris pushed him on his comments about segregationist Sen. James Eastland and his opposition to school busing and quite clearly lost the back and forth. Badly.

* Bernie Sanders: The Vermont senator learned a tough lesson Thursday night: Debating nine people as one of the frontrunners for the nomination is a very different beast than debating a single, establishment frontrunner when you are the freewheeling insurgent. Rather than passionate, Sanders came off as just plain loud. Rather than committed, he came across as repetitive. And, even worse, there were large periods of the debate where Sanders seemed to just plain disappear…

* Marianne Williamson: Watching the author and spiritual adviser on the debate stage reminded me of my own experience playing high school basketball: Hopelessly out of her league…

* Andrew Yang: Yang’s online army insisted that this first debate would be his break-out moment — a chance to push his message of the dangers of automation to the general public. The only thing that evoked automation was Yang; in the few moments when he spoke, he sounded like a robot.

* Eric Swalwell: You know that guy in high school who has a catchphrase? And, the first time you hear it, you’re like “That’s not bad!” But by the time he says it for the 30th time before lunch, you have to fight down the urge to vomit in your mouth? That’s Eric Swalwell and “pass the torch.”…

I think that the only Kirsten Gellibrand was not included with the winners is that the moderators gage her so little time.

Here are Key Moments from the NY Times.

At least they agreed on the need flush Putin’s Pervert. Biden’s deference to home rule on busing looks all too Republican. Slam dunk for Harris.

Here are some awkward moments from the Washington Post.

“My time’s up?” Biden surrendered and ducked.

I think Rachel Maddow was shell shocked.

I disagree with Rachel. Biden did back down by saying “I’m out of time,” when he could not answer Harris.

What did you think?

It’s a seasonal day here in the CatBox.  WWWendy left for Vegas at 4:00 AM.  I sure hope she does not become a showgirl.  For some reason, I woke up exhausted.  It was a real fight just to drag my ass out of bed.  TGIF Hugs.

From The New Yorker: Millions of viewers of a televised debate Wednesday night found themselves struggling with the notion of a President with no visible personality disorder.

In interviews across the country, viewers said that they were having difficulty imagining a President who does not display flagrant signs of malignant narcissism, impulse-control deficit, or rampant paranoia.

“I kept trying to picture whether any of these people would be capable of insulting another country on Twitter to compensate for his or her own pathological sense of inadequacy,” Harland Dorrinson, who lives in Akron, Ohio, said. “None of them showed me that they have what it takes to do that.”

“A President should be ready, at a moment’s notice, to ridicule another person’s face,” Carol Foyler, of Nashville, said. “I didn’t see one person on that stage who seemed up to that task.”

Dang Andy! I don ‘t know what to say I’m quite sure Liz doesn’t want a Russian hooker. RESIST!!

Last Night, I watched the first night of the first Democratic Debate.  The only negative performance, came from DeBlazio, who was aggressive and rude.  Most of the 2nd tier candidates did little to distinguish themselves.  The biggest exceptions were Inslee and Castro.  Among the top tier, both Klobuchar and Booker held their ground.  O’Rourke’s performance was weak.  But the hands down winner was Warren.  She was a rock star, but she did make one major mistake.

0627debate1

Elizabeth Warren came into Wednesday night’s debate as the candidate to watch most closely, the only one of the 10 onstage who had double-digit support in polls, with an apparent momentum that none of those rivals could claim.

Her performance over two hours in Miami probably strengthened that position.

During the first hour, Warren was crisper than most of her peers. She was clearer. I didn’t always like what she said. But she said it well, leaving no doubt about the direction in which she’d pull the country and giving voters a fair amount of detail, within the crushing constraints of time, about the map that she’d use to travel there.

Warren left no doubt, too, about the great villains in American life, at least in her view: “giant corporations.” She said the phrase repeatedly, with force and derision, and she never strayed far from it, framing just about every ill in American life as something caused or exacerbated by greed.

She has bet her entire bid for the presidency on that argument’s resonance with American voters, and on Wednesday night she doubled, tripled and quadrupled down. Elizabeth Warren was unswervingly true to Elizabeth Warren, which is precisely why she has caught fire and why she’ll continue to burn relatively bright. Her passion and confidence should petrify Bernie Sanders, whose song she sings better than he does…  [emphasis added]

Inserted from <NY Times>

Warren’s mistake was making Medicare for All mandatory.  That may keep Sanders from getting to her, but Big Insurance, Big Pharma, and the Republican Reich millions on adds that Democrats are taking away voters’ insurance.  She should adjust her position to Medicare for All Who Want it, while also making it available for Companies to and Unions to pay premiums for employees and members.  Private Insurance would soon be reduced to supplemental policies and advantage plans.

Here’s a link to the entire debate.

From Washington Post: The Supreme Court’s conservatives decided Thursday that federal courts do not have a role to play in deciding whether partisan gerrymandering goes too far.

The 5 to 4 decision was written by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and joined by the court’s other conservatives.

“We conclude that partisan gerrymandering claims present political questions beyond the reach of the federal courts.,” Roberts wrote. “Federal judges have no license to reallocate political power between the two major political parties, with no plausible grant of authority in the Constitution, and no legal standards to limit and direct their decisions.”

Justice Elena Kagan dissented for the court’s liberals. “For the first time ever, this court refuses to remedy a constitutional violation because it thinks the task beyond judicial capabilities,” she wrote.

We can lay this horrendous decision by SCROTUS (Republican anti-Constitutional VD) at the feet of Bought Bitch Mitch for stealing the seat that went to Injustice Whoresuch and forcing the confirmation of criminally pervert Kava-Nazi. RESIST!!

From NBC News: The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the Trump administration cannot include a question about citizenship on the 2020 census form that goes to every U.S. household, giving a win to populous states that said it would discourage legal and illegal immigrants from responding and make the population count less accurate.

The ruling was a setback for the Trump administration’s tough position on immigration. It was also a surprise, because it appeared in April when the case was argued that the court’s five-member conservative majority was prepared to rule that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross acted within his authority to add the question. They seemed to agree with the Justice Department that Ross’ decision was a rational one, balancing the need for more information against concerns about accuracy. But in the decision Thursday, the court found that while the department of commerce has a right to reinstate the question, it did not provide an adequate justification for doing so.

That should kill it for the 2020 census, as the forms deadline is in three days.  I’m shocked. Chief Injustice Roberts voted No in a 5-4 decision. RESIST!!
