It’s a tired day here in the CatBox.  It was so muggy, I slept poorly, after staying up to watch the debate.  It’s a good thing WWWendy is coming this evening, before her raucous expedition to the City of Sin. I need a shower so bad, I can  almost taste it.  YUCK!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:08 (average 4:34).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (RWW Channel): RWW News: Mike Heath Says That ‘Homosexuals Are Worse Than Murderers’

Barf Bag Alert!!

The only souls that should matter to these Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians (the exact opposite of real Christians) are the souls that they are: ass-souls! RESIST!!

From Washington Post: The Supreme Court’s conservatives decided Thursday that federal courts do not have a role to play in deciding whether partisan gerrymandering goes too far.

The 5 to 4 decision was written by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and joined by the court’s other conservatives.

“We conclude that partisan gerrymandering claims present political questions beyond the reach of the federal courts.,” Roberts wrote. “Federal judges have no license to reallocate political power between the two major political parties, with no plausible grant of authority in the Constitution, and no legal standards to limit and direct their decisions.”

Justice Elena Kagan dissented for the court’s liberals. “For the first time ever, this court refuses to remedy a constitutional violation because it thinks the task beyond judicial capabilities,” she wrote.

We can lay this horrendous decision by SCROTUS (Republican anti-Constitutional VD) at the feet of Bought Bitch Mitch for stealing the seat that went to Injustice Whoresuch and forcing the confirmation of criminally pervert Kava-Nazi. RESIST!!

From NBC News: The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the Trump administration cannot include a question about citizenship on the 2020 census form that goes to every U.S. household, giving a win to populous states that said it would discourage legal and illegal immigrants from responding and make the population count less accurate.

The ruling was a setback for the Trump administration’s tough position on immigration. It was also a surprise, because it appeared in April when the case was argued that the court’s five-member conservative majority was prepared to rule that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross acted within his authority to add the question. They seemed to agree with the Justice Department that Ross’ decision was a rational one, balancing the need for more information against concerns about accuracy. But in the decision Thursday, the court found that while the department of commerce has a right to reinstate the question, it did not provide an adequate justification for doing so.

That should kill it for the 2020 census, as the forms deadline is in three days.  I’m shocked. Chief Injustice Roberts voted No in a 5-4 decision. RESIST!!

Cartoon:

That was a disaster, considering his replacement.

  1. 4:49 Didn’t I see this in The Sound of Music?

RWW – I had to laugh at the image of RBG as Jezebel. But seriously, there was SOME (not much but some) excuse for these people before science determined that LGBTQ are born, not made; although common sense should have told us that. Now, LGBTQ come under Acts 10:28: “God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.” So these things that Mike Heath are saying are, in fact, blasphemous. Even though St. John Chrysostom said some of them first.

WaPo – Actually, I kind of think Roberts is right – the Constitution plus current legislation does pretty much eave to the states how to run elections. But that could (and should) be changed by passing legislation to create federal election standards, and require states to conform to them. They could even be pretty broad and leave most details to the states – but, once there is a federal law, then the federal courts would have a role which they could not abrogate.

NBC – Of course, what made the difference between April and now was the Republican who dies, leaving his surviving daughter to publish his notes on how adding a citizenship question to the census could be used by Republicans to cheat Democrats. Not that we didn’t all know that, but the fact that it was in writing, and had clearly been used by Republicans to design the question, made it impossible for Roberts to ignore how supporting it would tarnish his legacy. Roberts may be a convinced conservative, but he is not totally beyond shame, as most are.

Cartoon – Yes. It’s too bad he couldn’t have waited until 1993. But it’s too late to change it now.

  2. RWW: The only thing destroyed, in regard to this clown, is his brain!
WaPo: I concur with Joanne’s view on the  current constitutionality regarding voting laws, but also am disappointed with the court’s decision.  We do need federal voting rules, so that everyone is treated according to the same rubric, across the country. Gerrymandering needs to be outlawed.
NBC: Quell surprise!!!!!  So, is Dumpy going to go on a twitter rant about Roberts, now??????
‘Toon: Now THERE was a person worthy of sitting on that bench!

  3. RWW: “Ass souls”, priceless!!! Which they are, imho. lol

WP: Not good news. Personally, here in deep red Texas, I feel that the shift is changing. It’s time for TX to change this game.

NBC: Good news re: the citizenship question.

Cartoon: Known for representing/supporting the voiceless American. Shame we couldn’t have cloned him.

Hi, Wendy! Win BIG in Vegas!! lol Hope that you have a good evening, and take good care, Tom.

*This just in: “The 2020 election isn’t about policies. It’s about saving the country from ‘Trumpism’.

  4. RWW: Where is this stinking fool coming from making a comment like that??? Flipping idiot.
WP:I agree with Joanne’s view on this one.
NBC: Great news.We don’t need a citizenship question. tRump already crying out to his lawyers whether they can do anything about it.
Hope you have a good visit with Wendy. Tell her to have fun and good luck on her trip.

  5. Thanks and exhausted hugs.  23
