Several years ago, I was sitting on a MAX train, when a group of Republican pseudo-Christians (the polar opposite of authentic Christians) approached me. I could tell, because they wore identical IXTHUS buttons and vacant, rigid smiles. One asked me, “Are you pro-life?” I played along, “Why yes I am.” She replied, “That’s wonderful. We are too!” I answered, “Great! How long have you been against capital punishment?” Her countenance dropped, “But we’re FOR the death penalty!” I said, “Then, if I understand you correctly, you’re telling me you’re pro-death!” Stunned they walked away. Pseudo-Christians today are just as hypocritical.

You say that you’re pro-life.

You let me know in hashtags and bumper stickers and t-shirts and memes and march photos and sermons and high horse sanctimony.

You treasure and revere and defend life.

Kurds are lives you know.

They’re actual living, breathing human beings. (Well, many more of them were a week ago.)

They are lives filled with learning to walk and first days of school and running in the yard and having a dog and falling in love and playing instruments and exploring passions and getting married and growing old.

Kurdish people are parents and children and best friends and first grade teachers and favorite aunts; lives of made of loving, laughing, singing, learning, growing—all the things you believe life here is made of, all the life you say you can’t abide the disruption of, all the life you tell me you’re for,

Kurds are lives, and those lies are ending prematurely, violently, senselessly right now.

As you read these very words, crowds are scattering, people are screaming, ammunition is invading bodies, human beings are falling to the ground, and hearts are ceasing to beat—and those parents, children, best friends, first grade teachers, and favorite aunts are dying… [emphasis added]

Resident Donald Trump is responsible for these deaths. Republican Politicians claim to oppose this, but they refuse to lift a hand in the Senate to stop it. That means that they are pro-death, as is anyone that supports them or votes Republican.

It’s a muggy day here at the CatBox. It’s only 48°, but the humidity is 89%. I’m ready to be de-stunk, but WWWendy is 1800 miles away. It’s a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. I’ve been encouraging folks to flush Facebook for a long time. At first I was appalled that so many good progressive political blogs died, because their authors were sucked into Facebook’s maw of mindless pap. They started to ignore their blogs, and finally stopped writing. Then it was because the majority of content from there seemed pro-Republican. And most recently it was because Facebook worked hand in hand with Russia to help Trump steal the 2016 election. But now, it’s so extreme that I’ve decided to call them Fakebook from now on. Here’s why.

President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is running a false ad about former Vice President Joe Biden on Facebook, and there’s nothing the company is going to do about it. It doesn’t bode well for what’s to come in 2020 and social media platforms’ willingness to act on the spread of misinformation.

The Trump campaign has released a 30-second video ad accusing the former vice president of promising Ukraine money for firing a prosecutor investigating a company with ties to Biden’s son, Hunter Biden — essentially, the false conspiracy at the center of the impeachment inquiry President Trump is now facing. CNN refused to air the ad because there is no evidence for the claims it is making. But not Facebook — or multiple other tech platforms and media outlets like YouTube, Twitter, MSNBC, and Fox, for that matter. Instead, the Menlo Park, California-based company is going to let it stay — and rack up millions of views in the process.

The Biden campaign asked Facebook to take the ad down, but the platform said it’s a no-go. The New York Times first obtained a letter from Facebook to Biden’s camp on Tuesday responding to its request to remove the video, explaining that despite its false claims, it doesn’t actually violate any of Facebook’s policies.

“Our approach is grounded in Facebook’s fundamental belief in free expression, respect for the democratic process, and the belief that, in mature democracies with a free press, political speech is already arguably the most scrutinized speech there is,” Facebook’s head of global elections policy, Katie Harbath, wrote in the letter… [emphasis added]

To be fair, lets examine the mindset of the Fakebook exec that wrote the letter. Before becoming Fakebook’s Associate Manager for Policy, according to the Washington Post, she was Chief Digital Stratevest for the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, Deputy eCampaign Director Rudy Giuliani for President, and Deputy Director of eCommunications at the Republican National Committee. Although her view might be jist a little biased, I must admit that what she said about Fakebook’s policy is true. But just last month, it would have been a lie.

According to the Guardian, Facebook just changed their policy to allow Trump’s Fake news.

To bring this about Trump and Fuckerberg got together and made a deal. Chris Hayes has that story.

It’s another busy day here at the CatBox. WWWendy was a bit late last night, and we had extra stuff to do in preparation for her trip, so I made it to bed about three hours after my normal time, so I slept in an extra hour this morning. She’s stopping by on the way to the airport to drop off my packages that she forgot to bring yesterday. She just came and went. She’ll be gone until Tuesday. I’ve noticed that m heartburn seems to have gotten worse since I started omeprazole and I’ve also had persistent Republicosis and nausea. I looked up side-effects, and there they were. I discontinued taking it with last night’s dose. I don’t know about the Republicosis, but the nausea is gone, and the heart burn is not as bad as it was yesterday. Don’t you hate going to doctor to get sicker? TGIF!!

From The New Yorker: A nonpartisan study published by the University of Minnesota has found that the nation could save “untold millions” of taxpayer dollars by impeaching Mike Pence at the same time as Donald J. Trump.

The study, entitled “Operation bogo,” makes a compelling case for commencing an impeachment inquiry into Pence “as soon as possible,” its author, Davis Logsdon, said on Thursday.

“The cost of impeaching Trump alone or Trump and Pence together is virtually identical,” Logsdon, an economics professor, said. “This is all about economy of scale.”

“Taxpayers are already paying Adam Schiff to investigate Trump,” he added. “I’m fairly sure Schiff could be persuaded to throw in Pence for free.”

When it comes time to publish articles of impeachment against Trump, Logsdon noted, “It would cost almost nothing in terms of paper or ink cartridges to add the words ‘and Pence, too.’ ”

Amen, Andy! Doesn’t that mean we get to dump two tons of shit for the price of one? RESIST!!
