Worst Yet!

First it was just Christine Blasey Ford, and Republicans said that the could not hold up the confirmation of Pervert Kavanookie, based on one lone accuser.  Then came Deborah Ramirez, and she did not deserve to heard, over the choir boy who was a virgin for years afterward, and who never took a drink.  Now Julie Swetnick has joined the fray, and she is just part of a vile attack on their pervert.  What BS!

Now we have the most shocking allegation yet, courtesy of Michael Avenatti, known to the world as Stormy Daniels’s lawyer. Today, Avenatti released an affidavit from his client, a woman named Julie Swetnick, who says she attended parties with Kavanaugh as a high school student. The behavior Swetnick describes Kavanaugh, his friend Mark Judge and other boys engaging in ranges from the distasteful to the horrific…\

…Swetnick alleges that she attended “well over ten house parties … where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present,” and that she witnessed Kavanaugh both “‘grinding’ against girls, and attempting to remove or shift girls’ clothing to expose private body parts” and being verbally abusive toward them. She describes him as a “mean drunk.”

This is consistent with the account of Kavanaugh’s freshman roommate at Yale University, who said in a statement, “although Brett was normally reserved, he was a notably heavy drinker, even by the standards of the time, and that he became aggressive and belligerent when he was very drunk.”

Then comes the most explosive part of Swetnick’s affidavit. She says it was known that Judge, Kavanaugh and others would spike the punch at these parties with grain alcohol or drugs to make girls inebriated, and that the boys, including Kavanaugh, would “‘target’ particular girls so they could be taken advantage of; it was usually a girl that was especially vulnerable because she was alone at the party or shy.”

This echoes the New Yorker’s account of Deborah Ramirez, a college classmate of Kavanaugh’s who was described by others as similarly vulnerable when she got to Yale, someone who felt a little out of place among the sons and daughters of the elite.

Swetnick goes on:

“I also witnessed efforts by Mark Judge, Brett Kavanaugh and others to cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could then be ‘gang raped’ in a side room or bedroom by a ‘train’ of numerous boys. I have a firm recollection of seeing boys lined up outside rooms and many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room. These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh.

In approximately 1982, I became the victim of one of these ‘gang’ or ‘train’ rapes where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present. Shortly after the incident, I shared what had transpired with at least two other people. During the incident, I was incapacitated without my consent and unable to fight off the boys raping me. I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes or something similar placed in what I was drinking.”…

Here’s the initial report from MSNBC.

And here Avenatti’s explanation of the timing.

Republicans caused the delay.

Republicans want to cram a vote through the Judiciary Committee on Friday.  Jeff Merkley [D-OR] is asking a federal judge for an injunction to stop the process, because the Republican Reich is preventing advice and consent.  Oregon leads the way.

If I can get a live video feed for tomorrow’s hearing, I will.

RESIST!!

VOTE BLUE!!

  1. That is absolutely brilliant of Jeff. I hope he gets/got a judge who is sane and fast.

Note on “mean drunk” – The think about sobering up a drunken jerk is that then you have a sober jerk. It’s the same thing with mean. The biggest moment of truth for many alcoholics is not when they sober up, but when they then have to confront who they are. Some of Kavanazi’s decisions and opinions have already been shown to be mean, so I’m not surprised he’s also a “mean drunk.” Of course, that applies to a lot of Republicans.

  2. Gawd, the hits keep on comin’, don’t they? He’s a drunk, AND a sexual predator. My heart goes out to these ladies who have to re-live these memories, I can’t even grasp what they will go through, with the repugs asking questions. If nothing else, Kavanaugh should withdraw his nomination immediately. NOW!!! Being a ‘mean drunk’ does not make your behavior null & void either. One is held accountable whether sober or drunk, imho.

Kudos to Mr. Merkley, I’m proud he’s doing that.

  3. I like Sen. Merkley’s chutzpah, but let’s be honest – it probably has zero chance of succeeding.

ETA: But it’d be a hoot if Sen. Merkley prevailed and it made its way to the Supreme Court and the vote ended up 4-4. (Ain’t no way Kavanaugh is going to be confirmed!)

And I like even more Rep. Ted Lieu’s (D-CA) call for an investigation into accusations against any sitting Federal Judge who faces THREE accusations of sexual assault to consider the possibility of IMPEACHMENT!

(Rep. Lieu is looking at YOU, Brett!)

  4. If only more Americans would be tuned into these proceedings and only if they understood what is going on in what Grassley, Hatch and especially Bought Bitch Mitch McConnell are trying so hard to ram through Brett Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court. Don’t the people realize what is at stake for our country and for all USA citizens in the years to come once Kavanaugh gets onto the Supreme Court. sigh… I guess not. so sad.

Let the women speak in the hearings!

Mr. Merkley is doing something to stop the ramrodding of Bret Kavanaugh by the GOP. Big Thanks!

    .

  5. Merkley has been a great Senator.  Don’t forget that he also exposed Trump’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents, by traveling to the Texas-Mexico border and insisting on seeing for himself what was going on.

With three accusers and serial gang-rape in the mix, the accusations against Kavenaughty are deadly serious.  This is far to big a deal to just ignore it all and ram confirmation through in a couple of days.  If the Republicans do that, they’ll face the judgment of the voters in November.

  6. The Memo Kavanaugh wrote to Ken Starr back in 1998 on how to deal with Pres. Clinton should be another nail in Kavanaugh’s coffin:

    And the Memo itself [PDF]:

  7. Keep pestering your Senators! Call them daily, regardless of where they stand on Kava-nah. Send e-mails, postcards, tweets – keep up the barrage. Those who are anti-Kavanaugh will appreciate the support, those who are wavering may tip towards voting No, those who are with him should feel some heat. Especially if they are up for election this year.

  8. No, I do not think the American people recognize the danger of having this sicko on the big court, just as the did not recognize the danger in voting for the other sicko!

  9. I have zero confidence that Democrats will move to impeach Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court, or the court he now has lifetime tenure on, but they should.

  10. Anyone applying for a job would withdraw the application if there was such a hullabaloo made over his or her CV, but not Kavanaugh. How does he, and the ones pushing him, think he’s going to function in the SUPREME court? Not one of the other justices will ever take him seriously, just like no one in the administration takes their president seriously. But that may be exactly what the GOP and their masters want: a completely dysfunctional administration AND SCOTUS, so that they stay in power no matter what voters do.

I wouldn’t be surprised that at the end of the week a number of women will have sacrificed an anonymous, quiet life, will have gone through a terrible ordeal during the hearings and then Kavanaugh is voted in despite it all. Why I think that? The current dysfunctional maniac in the White House and the way he got there may have something to do with that.

  11. Thanks all.  Hot, bleary eyed hugs. 26

  12. Can Jeff Merkley be cloned???  The US needs more Jeff Merkleys!!!  I looked earlier for news on his requested injunction but found nothing.

Rep Ted Lieu, Democrat California tweeted: “If 3 women made sexual assault allegations against a sitting federal judge, the Court & @House Judiciary Committee would start an investigation to see if the judge should be removed from office. There should be no special exception for Kavanaugh.”

I say AMEN!!!  In a purely partisan move, after the death of Scalia, McTurtle refused to hold a hearing or vote for Judge Merrick Garland.  Republicans left the seat open for over 400 days.  Now they are in a hurry to confirm Kavanaugh despite allegations of sexual improprieties?  Why can’t the Senate take the time to investigate the claims properly and then take a vote?

    1) There is something in Kavanazi’s past that will not stand up to scrutiny.

    2) This situation is a partisan action perpetrated by Republicans hoping to stack the court for decades to come.

    3) The midterms are only 40 days away and there are bound to be contested votes which SCOTUS may have to adjudicate, not to mention that Republicans could lose their Senate majority.

    4) The Mueller investigation is getting closer to Diaper Don and he wants a reliably conservative court at his back.  Having a justice that believes POTUS cannot be indicted while in office is too good to be true for Diaper Don.

I hope Merkley’s injunction is successful and the I hope Kavanaugh is transformed into Kavanotachance!!!
