Yesterday, Trinette came by. She came straight from the hairdresser, and looked great (not the she doesn’t always.) She took out my recyclables, and, because I have now cleared as space from old boxes which is large nough to work with, vacuumed that space.once I move another piece of furniture (a table) partly into that stace, iI’ll gain access to some other areas which need to be cleared out. And I did listen to the opera, which was Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette.” You’ve probably heard part of it – for years (and for all I know, maybe still) there couldn’t be a Miss America pageany without some young soprano singing it. I don’t dislike the opera, but I’m also not passionate about it. I hear it as elevator music. Pleasant to listen to, but not memorable. The people in the Met audience had a much higher opinion – the applause was deafening. I’m glad of that. All the major-[art singers are nice people, did a great job, and deserve credit.

Apparently I am not the last living American who doesn’t hate Merrick Garland. Joyce Vance doesn’t either. And, being a lawter, including a former DOJ prosecutor, she has some words. (For another view, here’s a gift link)

Public schools (and public prisons) are the most obvious examples of how privatization hurts everyone (except the owners of the businesses which bleed government. ITPI (In The Public Interest) is the watchdog group which monitors abuses of privatization (not that every example isn’t an abuse.) Their newsletters are often long and in fine print, difficult to read (because there is so much privatization.) This example is so egregious that they limited this newsletter to it alone.

It’s a tired day here in the CatBox.  I did not sleep well last night, so please pardon my brevity.  Tuesday is Flush your Republicans Day.  I may have some to flush in a bit, but I may have flushed them all yesterday. Have a fine day!

From The New Yorker: Donald J. Trump said on Monday that his “greatest regret” as President was his failure to name his three adult children to the United States Supreme Court.

Appearing on Fox News, Trump said that Ivanka, Eric, and Don, Jr., would be “way better judges” than “those three clowns” whom he did name.

“Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett are the worst people who have ever worked for me,” he said. “And that includes Scaramucci.”

When the Supreme Court was deciding whether New York prosecutors could obtain his tax returns, Trump said, “none of those three boneheads even called to ask me what they should do. No gratitude whatsoever.”

Well, Andy, he hasn’t gotten the mileage he had expected from Whoresuch, Nazi Kavanookie, and Amy Coney Bullshit. But he was stupid to expect gratitude. What gratitude?!!?  After all…, they ARE Republicans! On the other hand, wouldn’t it be funny as hell if he had gotten his rancid spawn confirmed to SCROTUS (Republican anti-Constitutional VD), and they had given prosecutors his tax records?  RESIST the Republican Reich!!

This video is 6:41:55 in length, so I encourage you to move around to places you want to hear. He will be such a magnificent AG that my only regret is that Biden can’t clone him to nominate to the Supreme Court too!  RESIST the Republican Reich!!

It’s an outrageous day here in the CatBox.  Yesterday when the Republican Reich attacked the US, I was so upset that I swallowed an unprocessed mouthful of food and rushed to the computer without thinking.  Needless to say, that plugged my stent and I was sick all afternoon.   A couple days ago I opined that this was the wrong time to impeach Trump* and throw him the attention he craves.  I take that back.  Now a state of war exists between the Republican Reich and the US.  We must fight back with every legal weapon at our disposal.  These dates shall live in infamy, as long as there is a USA to remember: Dec. 7, 1941, Sep. 11, 2001, and Jan. 6, 2021.  I am waiting for Store to Door to bring my grocery order, and WWWendy is coming late this afternoon.  I hope to be in the saddle tomorrow.

From Daily Kos (Hat-Tip Mitch [ours]): This is too, too much. The schadenfreude! The sheer, sheer joy!

CNN:

President-elect Joe Biden has decided to nominate Judge Merrick Garland as attorney general, people familiar with the matter tell CNN, a long-awaited decision that was moved toward completion Wednesday as it became apparent that Democrats were on the brink of winning control of the Senate.

The announcement of the attorney general, along with other senior leaders of the Justice Department, is expected to be made as soon as Thursday as Biden moves closer to filling the remaining seats in his Cabinet before assuming power on January 20.

While Garland has been a top contender for weeks, concerns about the vacancy his selection would create on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia raised alarm bells among Biden and many advisers who believed Senate Republicans would block any nomination to that seat. But with Democrats poised to control the Senate after two Georgia runoff races, those concerns were allayed.

I have to love this! And Beat Bitch Baby Bawling Mitch can’t stop it!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): U.S. Capitol Ransacked After Massive Security Failure

These are some of the same questions I have. It appeared to me that some of the police were in cahoots with Trump’s* terrorists who tried to repeat the Reichstag Fire. I agree with Mika that they would have slaughtered BLM demonstrators. I hear people saying this is the time to stay cool. My answer? BULLSHIT!  RESIST!!

I put this here to give you a chance to keep up with any freaking developments, should they occur.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from yesterday): The Beatles-Revolution Protest Music Video

Given the Republican attack on America, this is all too appropriate!  RESIST!!
