It’s a busy day, here in the crappy old CatBox.  Store to Door is delivering groceries and I’ll have to put them away.  WWWendy isn’t coming to destink the sweaty TomCat until tomorrow.  She is vacationing at the coast.  I’m so, so jealous, because it’s 10° – 15° cooler there.  Happy Hump day to all.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:45 (average 5:14).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: The Real Reason for Impeachmen

The Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. There is only one valid reason not to impeach the Fuhrer of the Reich on the right, the Republican Reich. That reason is Pence. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): American Held By Immigration Released After Three Weeks

The Republican Reich would love to deport Latino citizens, who were born here. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Queen Elizabeth II is moving to Canada “immediately” and should take up full-time residence there by the end of the week, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday.

The Queen offered no reason for the move, but the palace indicated that she had been packing her bags for the past several weeks.

In a sign that the Queen’s decision is irrevocable, the palace revealed that her beloved corgis had already been flown to Toronto.

In a brief farewell statement to the British people, the Queen explained why she had chosen Canada as her new home. “We speak the language, and our picture’s on the money there,” she said.

Dang, Andy! Queen Lizzie has the right idea. Perhaps we should all follow suit. RESIST!!

It’s a busy week here in the crappy old CatBox.  Yesterday TriMet recertified my chair and I for another three years.  Unless I go back to the shiny new CatBox  with WWWendy, my next trip out is Monday.  I have a Cat Scan.  The IV contrast is bad enough, but I HATE having to drink the oral contrast, which I call Cat Pee.  Today and tomorrow are the coolest days of the heat wave (low to mid 80°s).  Enjoy your day.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:53 (average 4:29).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

A Pic from the Shiny New CatBox:

0723MadronaWWW

What gorgeous scenery!

Short Takes:

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Boris Johnson wins vote, expected to be UK prime minister

Poor UK! Boris Brexit is a Bridiot! RESIST!!

From Politico: President Donald Trump may have to hand out some new nicknames — for himself — after endorsing a bipartisan budget deal with Congress: “Trillion Dollar Trump?” “Deficit Don?”

With a new bipartisan budget deal that does nothing to cut federal spending, Trump is on track for another $1 trillion deficit this year. And there’s no reason to believe the following fiscal year will be any different, with ballooning deficits from higher spending, the 2017 tax cuts — Trump’s signature legislative achievement, which slashed revenue — and none of the entitlement reforms long preached by Republican leaders on Capitol Hill.

There is only one reasonable solution. It is undoing a decade of Republican welfare for the super-rich, combined with a steep wealth tax. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: The billionaire Donald J. Trump’s bid to become a born-again Christian failed over the weekend after Jesus Christ turned down his friend request, campaign officials have acknowledged.

Jesus, who has not generally been active on Facebook, made a rare appearance on the social network on Monday to announce His decision to ignore the presumptive Republican nominee’s request for a personal relationship with Him.

In a brief post, Jesus offered the following explanation: “Just everything.”

The turndown from Jesus Christ, the inspiration behind one of the world’s most prominent religions, caps what has been a tough month for the Trump campaign.

Look Andy, that is just not credible. Trump would never try to befriend the real Jesus. Trump’s Jesus is a GOP invention, Republican Supply-side Jesus, whose gospel of greed, hate, racism, violence and death matches his own beliefs and those of the pseudo-Christians in the Republican Reich. RESIST!!

This is my only article today, with no links messages on Care2.  I should be back in the saddle until next Sunday and Monday.  The heat yesterday was severe.  My A/C made it bearable, but not by much.  I’ll probably need to leave before I publish this, so I’ll do it when I return.  OGIM!

Back!  It was quite painless.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:04 (average 5:18).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Take:

From Alternet: The only thing more disgusting than having to suffer Donald Trump’s outwardly racist remarks—complete with double-downs and repetitions—is watching Washington refuse to own them.

Trump continued on with his attacks on four vocal, left-leaning, first-year congresswomen, expressing feigned surprise that people have found the words racist. Does he really think we are that dumb or societally deaf?

The four struck back, of course, with just enough partisan talk to allow various congressional Republicans to try to redefine the matter as one of adverse politics rather than race—conveniently overlooking the fact that the four are women of color. The Republicans who make it to television seem to take an unusually smarmy delight in casting the four—and all Democrats, while they are at it, as socialists bent on destroying the nation.

And in Congress, Republicans chose to attack Speaker Nancy Pelosi for using the word “racist” on the floor toward a condemnation resolution rather than deal with the content.

Trump’s racism merely reflects the racism of the Republican Reich. RESIST!!

WWWendy will be here shortly, and after we destink the TomCat, we’re going to the shiny new CatBox to drop off a custom toilet seat and some grab bars.  This is my only article today, with no links messages on Care2.  It’s going to be be over 90° today.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:33 (average 5:10).  To do it, click here.  Hou did you do?

Short Take:

From The New Yorker: Historians studying archival photographs from four decades ago have come to the conclusion that the U.S. must have believed in science at some point.

According to the historian Davis Logsdon, who has been sifting through mounds of photographic evidence at the University of Minnesota, the nation apparently once held the view that investing in science and even math could yield accomplishments that would be a source of national pride.

Dang, Andy! Those photos are fakes. That moon shit was just entertainment to distract the libruls that believe such fantasies. Don’t you know the earth is flat? RESIST!!

I’m moving into a heat wave, here in the crappy old CatBox for the next several days, but nowhere nearly as bad as what you guys in the East and Midwest will get.  Please take care!  For the next two days, please expect no more than a Personal Update with no links messages on Care2.  Tomorrow is a WWWendy day to destink the rancid TomCat, and we’re going to the shiny new CatBox.  Monday, I have to go to TriMet for lift bus recertification.  I need to prove that I have not grown a new leg and that my power chair has not mutated.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:07 (average 5:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Watch Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon

The only thing they could have done better is to give the honor to be first on the moon to a cat. Ah… the memories. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Oregonian Channel):Portland protestors throw fake blood on street in front of ICE headquarters

Kudos to the protestors! Oregon leads the way! Put ICE on ice! RESIST!

From NY Times: Gabriel Weinberg is taking aim at Google from a small building 20 miles west of Philadelphia that looks like a fake castle. An optometrist has an office downstairs.

Mr. Weinberg’s company, DuckDuckGo, has become one of the feistiest adversaries of Google. Started over a decade ago, DuckDuckGo offers a privacy-focused alternative to Google’s search engine.

The company’s share of the search engine market is still tiny — about 1 percent compared with Google’s 85 percent, according to StatCounter. But it has tripled over the past two years and is now handling around 40 million searches a day. It has also made a profit in each of the last five years, Mr. Weinberg said.

Mr. Weinberg, 40, is among the most outspoken critics of the internet giants. DuckDuckGo’s chief executive has repeatedly called for new privacy-focused legislation and has warned at hearings and in newspaper opinion pieces about the problems that big companies can cause by tracking our every move online.

I often use DuckDuckGo for research and recommend it. RESIST!!

Considering that yesterday was a “day of rest”, I managed to work my ass off.  I changed my ID address and voting registration.  I filed an address change with USPS.  I purchased bathroom grab bars and cookware.  I notified everyone that needed to know, and I set up my cable service to be installed on Friday,m 8/2.  I’m sure hectic will continue to be the case for the next couple weeks.  TGIF Hugs!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:07 (average 4:19).  To do it, click here. How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (NBC News Channel): Elizabeth Warren Keep Her Eyes On Iowa

Warren has been accused of having so many plans that she overloads voters. That would be true, if she ran on them alone, but she uses them strategically, fitting them to what voters desire. She waits for a voter to express a need or want. Then, instead of just making campaign promises, she explains how a specific plan is the solution. That reassures voters. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): President Donald Trump Campaign Hush Money Scam Appears To Have Worked

For all our humor about small hands and small peckers, Putin’s Pee Pervert had a bigger Pecker than we thought. Why are others stupid enough to take the fall for him? What do we do? We have two choices. Impeach or ignore? RESIST!!

From NY Times: President Trump said [Fuhrer delinked] Thursday that he would name Eugene Scalia as his next secretary of labor, tapping the longtime labor lawyer and son of the former Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia for a position with vast responsibility over the American work force.

The appointment is likely to be contested by Democrats and labor unions because Mr. Scalia has a long record of representing Walmart and other companies that pushed back against unions and tougher labor laws. He was a top lawyer for the Labor Department in the George W. Bush administration and is currently a partner in the Washington office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a prominent corporate law firm.

Eugene Scalia is a perfect example of why Republicans should not be allowed to reproduce. Don’t litter! Spay or neuter your Republican! RESIST!!

I’m exhausted.  I missed my nap yesterday and was in my chair from 5:00 AM until 6:00 PM, breaking only for the ride over and back in Wendy’s truck.  But it is now a done deal at last.  I signed my name at least 50 times, paid my rent, and took possession of the shiny new CatBox.  I have the keys, at last, and moving day is two weeks from today.  Woooo Hoooo!!!  This will be today’s only article, with no links messages on Care2, but it’s a bit more than I intended.  Why? Sam!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:55 (average 8:31).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes: From Full Frontal Network:

The Late Shrill with Samantha Bee (feat. Tammy Duckworth)

God, I’ve missed Sam.  Is her summer break over? RESIST!!

A Rundown of Trump’s Racist Racisms

Sam was wrong about one thing.  The Fuhrer ends sentences with propositions, not prepositions. RESIST!!

Jeffrey Epstein’s Got Friends in High Places

Penis shampoo dispenser? Literotica in a Taxes file? Dang! Is Sam a perv? 😉 Calling Epstein a pervert is understatement. RESIST!!

I’m hurrying, because I have an horrendously busy day.  Store to Door is delivering groceries, and I have to put them away.  WWWendy is coming 2.5 hours early to take me to the Madrona Studios, sign the lease, pay money, and get keys.  That means I’ll shower, eat and get to bed late.  In the process, I’ll lose almost all my nap time.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update, with no links messages on Care2.  I’ll need a recovery day.  Hurried Hump Day Hugs!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:13 (average 4:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): BLAME OBAMA – Parody

Dang, Don! You have me confused! Is the Republican national sport blaming Obama, or hating non-whites, women and LGBTQ? RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: How Corporate Welfare Hurts You

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. The Reich on the right, The Republican Reich loves nothing more than taking YOUR money and giving it to billionaires. RESIST!!

From NY Times: A contentious, yearslong debate inside the Justice Department over whether to bring federal civil rights charges against an officer in the death of Eric Garner ended on Tuesday after Attorney General William P. Barr ordered that the case be dropped.

The United States attorney in Brooklyn, Richard P. Donoghue, announced the decision one day before the fifth anniversary of Mr. Garner’s death at the hands of police officers on Staten Island.

The case had sharply divided federal officials and prompted national protests over excessive force by the police.

Bystanders filmed the arrest on their cellphones, recording Mr. Garner as he gasped “I can’t breathe,” and his death was one of several fatal encounters between black people and the police that catalyzed the national Black Lives Matter movement.

Is that sick or what? Barrf must have donned his robes and hood for that one. RESIST!!
