From Alternet: The only thing more disgusting than having to suffer Donald Trump’s outwardly racist remarks—complete with double-downs and repetitions—is watching Washington refuse to own them.
Trump continued on with his attacks on four vocal, left-leaning, first-year congresswomen, expressing feigned surprise that people have found the words racist. Does he really think we are that dumb or societally deaf?
The four struck back, of course, with just enough partisan talk to allow various congressional Republicans to try to redefine the matter as one of adverse politics rather than race—conveniently overlooking the fact that the four are women of color. The Republicans who make it to television seem to take an unusually smarmy delight in casting the four—and all Democrats, while they are at it, as socialists bent on destroying the nation.
And in Congress, Republicans chose to attack Speaker Nancy Pelosi for using the word “racist” on the floor toward a condemnation resolution rather than deal with the content.
Trump’s racism merely reflects the racism of the Republican Reich. RESIST!!

The R’s are spineless (disgusting) in addressing this. If it were one of theirs,(R), they’d be pitching a fit. Unfortunately, they are liars, spineless, w/o morals, and are complacent/compliant with the Führer’s horrible rhetoric, and are flippant about it.

AlterNet – As long as racists continue to disavow the term and attempt to reframe it as something else, it is a sign that they still know that racism is wrong and contemptible. How will we deal with them if and when they revert back to full Jim Crow and start saying things like “There’s nothing wrong with being proud of my race and defending it”? Some appear to be there already. In the fifties, when they screamed at and spat on children just trying to get an education, they knew they were being photogtaphed – they knew that anyone and everyone could see them, and see their behavior – forever – and they didn’t care. And I won’t even start on the photos of lynching parties.

Yes it’s going to hit the high temps here for the next three days. I feel for all that have been suffering in the Mid and eastern states. Mother Nature hasn’t been kind. She’s burning MAD. Must be because of tRump.

AlterNet — Republicans have a social disease . . . one that does not allow them to look after the people properly, but rather play to the elite and corporations. Lindsey Graham referred to “the squad” as communists, others as socialists which in their minds is akin to communism. Republicans really need to get a dictionary! It is amusing in this country that PM Trudeau is being criticised for not condemning Trump more forcefully . . . and internationally, he is one of two that I know of that has openly criticised Putin’s pervert for his racism. It was heartening to read that another congress critter, an older white male Democrat, asked to join “the squad”. Go ladies plus one!!!

It was hot here yesterday topping 34 C (93 F) out by me which is away from an ocean breeze. Damn HOT!!! Today was a bit cooler at 30 C (86 F) but still very hot. I had physio and have been napping this afternoon as the hand/arm is very sore, swollen and hot. A BS low of 3.1 (56 in the US) this morning did not help. By the time I had to leave the house about 930 hours, it was 6.9 (124 US). It is against the law here to drive with a BS level under 5 (90 US) — but who would know as long as there was no accident — so I was good to go. Glad you were able to get your meds etc satisfactorily taken care of Puddy Tat. Take care in the heat! It is a bitch!

Alternet: It’s unthinkable that Republicans would condemn their leader for racist when they are racists themselves. At this point in time, condemnation would come down to openly confessing to it. Republicans are just waiting until their poster boy has succeeded in having racism normalized, or even something to be proud of. As soon as that happens, Republicans will beat their chests about being racist. Condemnation? Never!

The sophistry, the sophistry! They say that tRump is not racist despite the contents of his tweets. Reich-wing fart-heads belch their propaganda that the dictionary must be racist because it contains certain words, none of which I need list. But the dictionary includes them as parts of our language, whereas the Menacing Mango Moron uses them to express his feelings. Rethuglicans are mostly moral cowards who don’t dare attack their “Fearless” Leader.
