I had a great time yesterday, but I must have overexerted myself, because I overslept and am running quite late. Because I moved to the East side of the river, I get a new Store to Door delivery driver and grocery delivery day is now Thursday. So I have a grocery delivery coming, but I have no idea what time. I expect to be back in the saddle until Sunday.

From Alternet: According to a report from the Wall Street Journal [Murdoch delinked], major Wall Street financial institutions have handed a wealth of information on Russians linked to Donald Trump and members of his family to congressional committees.

The report states, there are “thousands of pages of documents related to Russians who may have had dealings with Mr. Trump, his family or his business,” according to sources.

“Some banks are also giving documents related to Mr. Trump’s business, the Trump Organization, to New York state investigators,” the report continues.

Among the institutions turning over documents, are Bank of America Corp. , Citigroup Inc.,Deutsche Bank AG , JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo & Co.

From AlterNet: Progressive activists and groups praised two House Democrats Tuesday for formally requesting that the National Archives and Records Administration release records related to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s service in the George W. Bush White House which were not part of Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation process last year.

“This is big,” Brian Fallon, executive director of the advocacy group Demand Justice, tweeted Tuesday. In a statement, he added that “this is a critical first step in conducting the real investigation of Brett Kavanaugh that Senate Republicans prevented from happening.”

Despite credible allegations of past sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh and concerns about how the judge’s far-right views on various issues could shape the country’s future laws, he was narrowly confirmed to the high court by the Republican-held Senate in October, following what critics called a “sham confirmation process.”

The study, which is raising eyebrows with its startling conclusions, finds that the most reliable predictor of gun violence is the “prevalence of quiveringly fearful politicians in positions of power.”…

…While the study’s authors paint a bleak picture of nations with “coward-rich” leadership, they offer a recommendation to remedy this dire state of affairs.

“While censoring movies or video games would have no measurable effect on gun violence, major strides can be made by replacing cowards in government with non-cowards,” the study suggests, noting that this theory could be tested as early as 2020.

It’s a scorcher here in the shiny new CatBox, with 94° forecast. With the big A/C it’s hard to finds a balance, because the big windows conduct a lot of heat when the PM sun hits. I have to cover half the vents to keep it blowing on me at the computer (see pic). I should be in the saddle until Wed. OGIM!

U.S. cybersecurity company Cloudflare said on Monday it was terminating services to online message board 8chan after the suspected gunman in the weekend’s El Paso shooting appeared to have used the website before he went on a rampage.

“We just sent notice that we are terminating 8chan as a customer effective at midnight tonight Pacific Time,” Matthew Prince, CEO of Cloudflare, wrote in a blog post.

On Saturday, a suspected shooter was said to have posted an anti-immigrant and anti-government screed on the forum before opening fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, which left at least 20 people dead and another 26 wounded.

His post was deleted from one of 8chan’s forums after the shooting started, but forum users archived the document, which contained a link to a PDF version, NBC News reported.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Patrick Wood Crusius, cited in his note that the gunman who killed 51 people at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, in March was an inspiration, according to NBC News.

That begs this question: why in hell didn’t Cloudflare refuse to do business with 8chan Republican Nazi terrorists to begin with? RESIST!!

Trump has said that he wanted to help improve background checks, but it seems he doesn’t want it bad enough to pay for the cost. In Feb. 2018, the White House released its budget proposal, which called for a $12 million cut to funds given to states to update their background check database. Just two days later, a gunman opened fire on the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 people.

The gun lobby spent more than $55 million to elect Donald Trump and NRA allies in Congress in 2016, Everytown for Gun Safety reported prior to the mid-term election in 2018.

The move yesterday was horrid. The movers arrived a 7:45 PM. WWWendy left and I went to bed at 12:45 AM. Not used to the shiny new CatBox, I slept poorly, and I feel exhausted. The cable installation was as professional as the move was inexcusable. His service was above and beyond the call. This is my only article today. I should have more tomorrow.
