Susan Collins is a rightwing hack who masquerades as a “moderate” in order to keep her job in a blue state. Sure, she may vote against the worst impulses of her party—usually during an election year—but here’s the key: only if her vote won’t make the difference. 

Harry Reid put it best on Susan Collins: “She’s always there when you don’t need her vote.” Despite having numerous opportunities, Collins always passes at being the deciding vote against her party, no matter what. It’s this grift that makes Trump blush, and it’s why the hardliners love how she plays her constituents for fools.  

The most recent example was just this past Thursday, at the Senate Appropriations Committee meeting. Collins has repeatedly and forcefully claimed that she is opposed to Trump stealing money from our military community to build a wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.

Goose-step Gordon Smith [R-OR] used to do the same thing, until we fired him and replaced him with Jeff Merkley.  Now, Collins, a fascist Republican goose-stepper  REALLY IS the least extreme Republican in the Senate, and she’s deplorable!  Every Republican in office is one Republican too many! RESIST!!

I’m very tired here in the CatBox.  I finally got everything fixed, but it was 4 PM, when I did.  So I missed my nap.  Tomorrow is a Holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos are meditating with the Bears, but the game won’t be televised here.  May the Holy Ellipsoid Orb bless your team unless they bearly shit in the woods.  Tomorrow is also a WWWendy day, and we have lots to do, so please expect no more than a Personal Update.  Weekend Hugs to all.

It’s a crazy day here in the CatBox.  It may be the last day this year in the 80°s, and talk about muggy!  The humidity is 97%.  Store to Door is delivering groceries this afternoon.  I want to eat lunch early, take an early cat nap, get up for the delivery, and take another cat nap, when done.  We’ll see how that works.  Today is a Holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  The Buccaneers play the Panthers on Thursday Night Football.  Fantasy Football players, make sure you set your lineup before the game.  Tonight I’ll be watching the debate instead of meditating on the Orb.

From The Daily Beast: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell last month blocked a measure that would have used Treasury Department funds marked for Appalachian development to help pay for coal miners’ health care and pensions in his home state of Kentucky.

But just a few months earlier, McConnell successfully steered near-identical Treasury funds for Appalachia to bankroll a Kentucky aluminum plant connected to an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

Democrats on Capitol Hill have raised concerns for months about McConnell’s connection to the aluminum plant. It’s one of several reasons why McConnell’s political opponents have tried to stick him with the nickname “Moscow Mitch.” But what’s gone largely unnoticed as the sobriquet has become a social media trending topic is how McConnell worked to keep money out of coal miners’ hands—even as he maneuvered to steer federal funds to the Russian-linked plant.
