We have come to the beginning of another month and the last few days of the 2012 campaign.  Am I the only one who is ready for it to be over?  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow appears routine, but I could be running late due to the extra prep time needed for tomorrow’s monthly report.

Other than the terrible inefficiency from duplication of effort, there is a more important reason not to let Republicans transfer FEMA’s responsibilities to the states. Imagine Jan Brewer’s response to a disaster, where the victims were concentrated in Latino communities.

From Alternet: Presidential candidate Mitt Romney found himself in an awkward line of questioning yesterday when reporters wanted to know if he would really slash funding for FEMA, the federal government agency in charge of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. 

Rather than fall back on his tried-and-true model of flip-flopping his position to fit the latest poll (see Romney on abortion and health care), he opted for a bold new strategy: entirely ignore the question.

“Governor, you’ve been asked 14 times. Why are you refusing to answer the question?” one journalist complained  at Romney’s press conference yesterday in Ohio.

Lord Willard is so chicken that he has not spoken to a reporter in the last 16 days, because he has so many lies hanging out.

From NY Times: Most Americans have never heard of the National Response Coordination Center, but they’re lucky it exists on days of lethal winds and flood tides. The center is the war room of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, where officials gather to decide where rescuers should go, where drinking water should be shipped, and how to assist hospitals that have to evacuate.

Disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of “big government,” which is why Mitt Romney wants to eliminate it. At a Republican primary debate last year, Mr. Romney was asked whether emergency management was a function that should be returned to the states. He not only agreed, he went further.

“Absolutely,” he said. “Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.” Mr. Romney not only believes that states acting independently can handle the response to a vast East Coast storm better than Washington, but that profit-making companies can do an even better job. He said it was “immoral” for the federal government to do all these things if it means increasing the debt.

Lord Willard would make Brownie’s response to Katrina seem excellent by comparison.

From Voice 4 America: This is completely classless and disgusting. Ronna Romney, former sister-in-law to Mitt Romney, posted pictures of the mangled body of the late Ambassador Chris Stevens on her Facebook page. The picture includes the words “Obama Killed Him” surrounded by dripping blood.

Most likely, Willard put her up to doing this. It’s his style.
