This just isn’t my week. WWWendy changed my Fentanyl patch to 100 mcg Yesterday afternoon, and it kicked in around Midnight, but it’s already disaster time again. I have not Republicated since I was in the hospital Friday, so my OIC is back and severe. Starting Saturday, I’ve been taking a 200 mg Docusate Sodium and a double dose of Dulcolax morning and evening and a dose od MIRAlax at noon. I did squeeze out a tiny bit this morning. Trying to push produced a tiny bit (1 tbsp.) of soft poo, but the pushing shot my pain level to 10 until I stopped pushing. I’ll call Providence Doctor at Home when they open to see if they can come give me a shot of Resistor. Yesterday I was in so much pain I didn’t know what day it was. Today, Republicans are waging an insurrection against my bowels. I hope your hump day is better than mine. ARGH!

Yesterday I said I expected to be back in the saddle today. These are the circumstances I did not foresee. When WWWendy went to the hospital Oncology Center to pick up my patches and pills, there was nobody there. It was closed due to the ice blizzard. I have a few pills left, but I now have a 25 mg patch on instead of the 100 mg I’m supposed to have. I need to go back to bed, because being up makes the pain worse. We hope WWWendy can get them today. If so, I should be back tomorrow. May your Hump Day be as Happy as mine is Crappy!

Just so you know, in case you missed it, the Lincoln Project is having some issues (apparently one of their members turned out to be a little too Republican – Steve Schmidt has left them over it.) So nothing new from them today – and it may be a while, if ever.

This is not a full Open Thread, but it’s more than a Personal Update. It’s a busy day, because I have to completely reorganize my diet, given the new set of problems I’m facing. The snow storm has degenerated into an ice storm. TriMet has suspended all all bus, train, and lift service. Please, let me wish you all a Happy Valentines Day with love and gratitude to each of you. From Me: Here are my thoughts on the Senate trial and treason by all but seven Republican Senators. Many on the left are very upset with Democrats’ decision not to call witnesses, and are accusing those Democrats of selling out the country for their Valentines recess. That’s hogwash! If they had decided to call witnesses, Republicans would have used it as an excuse to depose hundreds of witnesses and tie the Senate’s hands for months preventing any work on confirmations, GOP plague relief, saving the earth, human rights, and all the other things Democrats need to get done to prove to the American people that they made the right decision to elect Democrats in the last election. In the end, all but seven Republicans would have voted in favor of treason anyway.

Many Republicans now say that Trump** was guilty as hell, but alas, their hands were tied, because they could not impeach someone who was no in office. I won’t post video, but that was exactly the reason that filthy bastard, Bought Bitch Bullshit Traitor Mitch, said he had to vote to acquit. However, the only reason the trial did not take place, while Trump** was in office is that Bought Bitch Bullshit Traitor Mitch was Majority Leader until Trump** left office and prevented the trial from taking place then.

Finally, as much as we hoped for a different outcome, we never expected to win this one. Our job just isn’t done yet. As long as the RNP exists, America will be in grave danger. RESIST the Republican Reich!!

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
