This is not a full Open Thread, but it’s more than a Personal Update. It’s a busy day, because I have to completely reorganize my diet, given the new set of problems I’m facing. The snow storm has degenerated into an ice storm. TriMet has suspended all all bus, train, and lift service. Please, let me wish you all a Happy Valentines Day with love and gratitude to each of you. From Me: Here are my thoughts on the Senate trial and treason by all but seven Republican Senators. Many on the left are very upset with Democrats’ decision not to call witnesses, and are accusing those Democrats of selling out the country for their Valentines recess. That’s hogwash! If they had decided to call witnesses, Republicans would have used it as an excuse to depose hundreds of witnesses and tie the Senate’s hands for months preventing any work on confirmations, GOP plague relief, saving the earth, human rights, and all the other things Democrats need to get done to prove to the American people that they made the right decision to elect Democrats in the last election. In the end, all but seven Republicans would have voted in favor of treason anyway.
Many Republicans now say that Trump** was guilty as hell, but alas, their hands were tied, because they could not impeach someone who was no in office. I won’t post video, but that was exactly the reason that filthy bastard, Bought Bitch Bullshit Traitor Mitch, said he had to vote to acquit. However, the only reason the trial did not take place, while Trump** was in office is that Bought Bitch Bullshit Traitor Mitch was Majority Leader until Trump** left office and prevented the trial from taking place then.
Finally, as much as we hoped for a different outcome, we never expected to win this one. Our job just isn’t done yet. As long as the RNP exists, America will be in grave danger. RESIST the Republican Reich!!

Yes – I thought the Managers at the first impreachment could not have been better – but I think these managers may have been better (certainly at least as good, and they had more to work with.)
I’ve discovered thet “The Hill” watches the “Sunday shows” so I don’t have to (not that I ever did), and the consensus in their newsletter of what Democrats were thinking is exactly what you are saying.
And I did see (and have in the video thread) the clip of Nancy Pelosi saying exactly what you said about Mitch.

Glad to hear that you’re working on reorganizing your diet. I know with having other issues like IBS/IBD that what I eat plays a major role in how I feel thru out the day. Plus found that when I eat certain food for dinner, that I won’t sleep well. We have to be our own doctor some times, when it comes to our health.

This was taken from the Epoch Times, a right wing “news” site for which I will not provide a link.
As you read this BS, you’ll undoubtedly agree with me that Trump did not write this, not even dictate it it to a minion. He is incapable of such a feat! But still, it is in keeping with his level of BS and lying!

I wholeheartedly agree w/ your assessment of Trump’s SECOND impeachment trial. The Democratic Managers did a stellar job of presenting the evidence in making their case.

Of course it’s true. It’s true in every situation, and not just with nationality. A convert is always more enthusiastic than someone raised in the religon. An ex-drinker or ex-smoker is always more vocal than someone who never used alcohol or tobacco. And it makes sense that humans would react in that way. “Don’t it always seem to go/you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” – and brought up in a country , we take it for granted. (Do I have to say that believing in “American exceptionalism” is not a form of love or appreciation, but instead, using a myth to pat oneself on the back? I didn’t think so.)
Fibre is much like a laxative, TomCat, you have to learn what dose is best for your body and how much fluid your body needs for fibre to work. Take care and take your time.

TomCat’s opinion: Spot on. This was another one Democrats could never win no matter what they did. Republicans are only good at one thing and that is twisting reality and sell it for the truth. And seen from the GOP standpoint, they’ve mastered it.
