It’s a crazy day here in the CatBox. I am de-stunk, and WWWendy is semi-gooping. Yesterday we reviewed my scan with Evelyn. My results were mixed. The liver cancer and the spinal cancer are stable, no better or worse. The esophageal cancer is indeterminate. When the stent was installed, the surgeon altered the tumor too much to see if it’s worse or not. The lung cancer is getting worse, but those aren’t my most severe tumors. The odds are that I’ll be with us at least until the beginning of the year. We are going to continue the immunotherapy treatment. Although a “cure” is out of the question, we hope that it will slow the progress enough to give me a little more time. Thanks and a green cloud to Squatch as thanks for the card. It’s a medical mayhem day here in the CatBox, and I need to be at Evelyn’s (my oncologist) office by 8:30 AM. I’ll try to leave a “home safe and alive” message when I get home. From Alternet: Dozens of Florida voters and others residing in heavily-Democratic counties across several states have received threatening emails warning them to vote for President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election or suffer consequences.

Ahead of early voting, Democratic voters in Alachua County, Fla., began receiving the disturbing emails. Voters in Alaska and Arizona also reported receiving the same message.

The subject line for the email reads: “Vote for Trump or else!”

Targeting voters registered as Democrats, the email message opens with a disturbing statement telling potential voters all of their personal information has been exposed as the sender claims to have infiltrated the “entire voting infrastructure.”

The sender also warned Democrats to vote for Trump or they would “come after” them. Voters are also being told to change their political party affiliation so it can serve as confirmation of agreement to the terms of the threat.

“We are in possession of all your information (email, address, telephone… everything),” the message stated. “You are currently registered as a Democrat and we know this because we have gained access into the entire voting infrastructure. You will vote for Trump on Election Day or we will come after you. Change your party affiliation to Republican to let us know you received our message and will comply. We will know which candidate you voted for. I would take this seriously if I were you.”

Here is a perfect example of international cooperation, Republican Style. White House staffers prepare the threats, the Republican Party provides the email list, and the SVR (current name of KGB) provide the servers, and all join forces to blackmail voters with fraudulent claims. RESIST!!

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
