It’s a medical mayhem day here in the CatBox, and I need to be at Evelyn’s (my oncologist) office by 8:30 AM.  I’ll try to leave a “home safe and alive” message when I get home.  Tomorrow is a WWWendy day, so please expect no more than a Personal Update.  It’s Tuesday, so remember to flush your Republicans.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:52 (average 4:59).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Currently 2.3 million.

  1. Cartoon: Sad. Sad! Sad !!
Hope that all is good on your end w/your oncologist (Evelyn) and w/good news! Early HI’s to WWWendy too about tomorrow!
Stay safe, take care, and hope you get a chance to nap/rest/relax when you get back too. Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “In the last 24 hours, there have been several stories suggesting that lots of people are coming down with a severe case of ‘Trump Abandonment Syndrome’. Russian President Putin contradicts Trump on the Hunter Biden story. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu refuses to criticize Joe Biden when trump invites him to do so. AND…reports as many as 10 GOP senators are strategizing about how to ensure trump loses power if he loses the election.” ~ Glenn Kirschner ~
    2. “Watch what they do, not as they say.” ~ Rachel Maddow ~
    3. “McConnel adjourned the Senate until 11/9 with NO Covid relief.” ~ James S. ~
    4. “Unlike trump, we will not have a Department of Justice that conducts itself as the personal lawyer of the President.” ~ Kamala Harris ~
    5. “Trump is a whiney little bitc-! “. ~ Bill Maher ~
    6. “re: Pence having Covid19 or not? Is the fly okay?” ~ Bill K. ~

    • TJI#1: Too little, too late, may they all go down!  Well, if some can prevent a real coup by that jackass, it will be valuable.
TJI#3: With much luck, McTurtle will be a lame duck bastard by then.

    • TJI #6 – That’s a serious concern. Flies’ lives are so short, the fly is probably in a high risk group on age alone. Poor thing.

    • TJI #6: It’s a moot issue.  The cat already took care of that problem:

    • TJI #2 Still the only one that really matters until after November 3 and all Republicans have admitted defeat. They should have been strategizing about what to do when Trump loses the election before they voted for Coney Barrett, all in the hope she’ll tip the scales in the right direction when their seat is under siege.

  2. ‘Toon: See the book “the New Jim Crow, Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness,” by Michelle Alexander.  Now at 2.3 Million?  That certainly cuts down on the voting population!
    Good luck at the oncologist’s!

    • “That certainly cuts down on the voting population!” – Yes, but there are still some they can’t pin anything on – Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, Breonna Taylor – so they have to take other measures.

  3. I did watch “Don Carlo” last night (abridged – one feature of this streaming is that you can jump forward or even backward at will, as long as yu don’t let it run out – and even if you do, you can back out and go back in and start over.) There were definitely some lines which seemed very contemporary, e.g., by the king, “Must the throne always bow to the altar?” (In a theocracy, yes. That’s the definition.) And then, said to the King, “In your vast empire, are you the only one you cannot control?” Sounds very familiar, eh? Incidentally, the King is scary bad, but nothing conpared to the Grand Inquisitor.

Every good wish for the visit to Evelyn. And then rest.

Cartoon – There’s so much to say about this – and to do it justice I’d have to take Sauel L. Jacson up on his offer to teach profanity in 15 languages.

  4. Thanks and hugs to all.  The news was not stunning tbt it was good enough to warrant continuing the treatment for the rest of the year.  WWWendy and I stopped on the way home to get take-out for lunch:  Sweet and Sour Chicken and Pork Egg Lo Mein.  Pardon me, but it’s kitty kitty nap time. 🛌

  5. All right!! You continuing your treatment for the rest of the year sounds positive.
Glad you got home safely, and your lunch sounds delicious!
Enjoy the rest of the day, and get in a nap. Take care, Tom.

  6. I had to rush this morning to go have a nerve study on my right arm. Hate having those needles poked up and down my arm/hand. Glad it’s over with.
Cartoon: Nothing to be proud of.
Glad Evelyn feels that the treatments are helping. Every little bit helps.
Sweet and sour chicken sounds tasty. Hope you and Wendy enjoyed it.
Now you can relax and take your cat nap.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  7. “The news was not stunning tbt it was good enough to warrant continuing the treatment for the rest of the year.” would translate in “It’s not going to cure you now but the infusions have given and will give you more time with us”, is that right?
Not the best, but far from the worst you could hope for, TomCat. You’re going to make it through the elections and its aftermath, which is more than they could promise you a few months ago, though only time will tell if that is on the worst or the best end of the spectrum. And you get to eat nice food for a while too. Enjoy it while it lasts!282218

2:54 You had your Sweet and Sour Chicken and Pork Egg Lo Mein; I couldn’t let you have the doggie too.

Cartoon: The prison population more than doubled in 25 years but your country’s population hasn’t.

  8. Colleen..hope that your testing comes back with good news.
Hope that you start feeling better too. Take care!

  9. Thanks Joanne and Pat. Appreciate it.

  10. THanks ant hurry hump day hugs to all! 26
