It’s an exhausted, painful, crappy day here in the CatBox.  Yesterday WWWendy gave me a shower, and the exertion exacerbated my lower back pain.  I Republicated and have had very little sleep  Please pray for ongoing Republication and decreased pain.

  1. Cartoon: ugh! The picture even makes me ill through and through, with a healthy dose of anxiety.
    BFTP: What a great song.

Hi, Wendy. Glad that you got your shower. I’m so sorry to read about your lower back pain. Hope that it eases up for you. Passing your Republication makes for a good day. Take good care, take it easy and enjoy your day, Tom, and get a nap in.

*This just in: TJI:  “Accountability for a Cabinet secretary should come at the hands of the president who appoints them: losing their position. The problem here is that the former president wasn’t looking for honesty and public service from his appointees, but for loyalty. He expected Barr to help him stay in power. That’s the role Barr played throughout his tenure as attorney general, and that’s why it’s important to learn the truth. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson has opened the door to that possibility.” ~ Rachel Maddow ~
    2. “Fauci strongly urged Americans to remain distant from Rand Paul.” ~ Andy Borowitz ~
    3. “Congresswoman Liz Cheney is a leader of great courage, patriotism, and integrity. Today, House Republicans declared that those values are unwelcome in the Republican party. The Republican denial of the truth presented by Congresswoman Cheney is reflected in the need to seek the truth in a January 6th commission and to repairthe damage of January 6th with a security supplemental immediately. For the sake of our democracy, reasonable Republicans across the country must take back their party.” ~ Nancy Pelosi on GOP Removal of Conference Chair Liz Cheney ~
    4. “When two federal judges and DOJ prosecutors warn that Trump, Republicans, and right-wing media continue posing a clear and present danger to the domestic security of the United States, it is high time to begin jailing the traitors and muzzle them like the enemies of state they are.” ~  RMUSE ~
    5. “The U.S. Naval Academy has announced that select commissioning week events for the class of 2021 will be held in person, culminating with a graduation and commission ceremony at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, May 28th. Vice President Harris is set to deliver this year’s commencement address to the U.S. Naval Academy…with the first black female Brigade Commander! ~ CBS Baltimore Staff ~ HOOYAH! *pb*

    • TJI#1: He wanted loyalty, and choose people who would work to DISMANTLE the very government institutions they were picked to head.  Barr enabled Reagan to be a horrid president, and TOT to be the precise opposite of what a president ought to be.
TJI#2: Ayn “Rand” Paul is a sick joke.
TJI#3: Having pushed Cheney aside the GOP is free to race to the bottom of the barrel untrammeled; find a NEW bottom!
      TJI#4: Amen!
      TJI#5: Wonderful!

      • TJI #1 – Requiring them to be confirmed by the Senate was supposed to mitigate that, and I’m sure has done so more than once, but with a real dictator wannabe like Trump**. it’s not a strong enough tool. Not only Barr, but his whole Cabinet, demonstrated that.
TJI #3 – Nancy is being way too generous to Liz – but compared to the rest of the Republican Party, that is a good description of what she looks like. And the flattering description makes a pretty good stick to beat them with.
TJI #4 – Under are laws, we CANNOT just throw someone in jail. Even for pre-trial confinement (which IMO would certainly be appropriate), there must be charges brought. There are grand juries working on that.I too wish it were faster … but I want even more for those charges to stick like Gorilla Glue.
TJI #5 – HOOYAH indeed! Well deserved by all involved, and I pary no harm comes from it. I am confident that people with good sense will take appropriate precautions.

    • Thank you so much, Pat! 17

TJI#2 – Is staying distant from Rand Paul a good idea?  It’s like staying distant from a cesspool with a diving board!
TJI#4 – Lock them up, one and all!
TJI#5 – They could not choose a better Speaker!

  2. I’m sorry that your pain is so difficult to control and that exerting yourself to get into the shower worsens it, TomCat. I know, it is a big step and hard to give up more of your independence but perhaps you should start thinking about a sponge bath instead of a shower on very bad days. I’m sending you good vibes and hope they help you to do what is good for you.

Cartoon: It’s about time We The People turn the tables on that πŸ’©.

BFTP: American Pie flooded me with good memories. Thanks, TomCat.

  3. So sorry that the pain continues in that manner.  Lona’s suggestion sounds good.
‘Toon: Rather burn his ass…in prison!
    BFP: A bittersweet song.

  4. Yes, lower back pain is definitely one of the issues of getting old, even without complications. As a species, we did that to ourselves when we evolved to walk upright … but we are now so far past tha that our legs are now too lomg to go back – the lower back pain would be enev worse. Many of us kind of lean forward, at least when walkig, which does take some of the stress off, but is not a solution. My TENS unit is a Godsend for me, but you can’I do pray for less pain for you, and of course for regularity. Love ot WWWendy (Goes without saying, by I do try to say it sometimes.)

Cartoon – It looks like both are saying it – which suggests a potential duel to the death. May the best – side – win!

Blast – A true epic (I think I commented about this before once), and intended as such, and I suspect unique. For some reason this line of thought made me think of “Macsrthur Park,” but it was not and was never intended to be an epic. It was, however, intended to be a symphony, performed with no pauses between the movements. So that’s a kind of resemblance, but different.

  5. TJI #3 – Limiting Speaker Pelosi’s comments to Rep. Cheney and the “BIG LIE” – she is SPOT ON!

  6. Hope & pray your team will be able to find a solution for managing your pain.

  7. Cartoon: What part of that doesn’t his rotten R’s understand??
    BFTP: Wonderful song.
I had to run errands this afternoon, so I’m running late.
Sorry to hear that you’re not feeling too well.
I know that when you were alone, you mentioned you couldn’t use a Tens unit. How about now, that you have ones around there who could assist putting the patches on for you to use for 10 -15 minutes? Or even a heating pad to give you some comfort? Or even using Voltaren gel? I use them both to help my sore arms and neck issues.
I hope that you get some sleep tonight, Tom. Do take care, eat and drink your fluids so your system stays balanced.
Sending you extra prayers. Thanks Tom

  8. Thanks and TGIF Hugs to all!
