  1. Cartoon: Yep, no words needed.
    Simon & Garfunkel: Great song.
Glad to know that we flushed the R party down the drain yesterday!! That’s good news! We need to do it more often. Virtual Hugs to you, Tom. Hope that your pain lessens. Get your rest, take good care, and Thanks!

*This just in: “Police still exist to uphold white supremacy and have been empowered by the courts to inject themselves into Black life for any reason, no matter how minor. ~ ACLU ~
    2. “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.” ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower ~
    3. “Corruption is just another form of tyranny.” ~ Joe Biden ~
    4. “Thank you, President Biden for making the commitment to get out of Afghanistan – should have been done 19 years ago, saving thousands of and trillions of $$.”  ~ Tulsi Gabbard ~
    5. “I joined in spirit and solidarity to uplift our Asian American community at the #StopAsianHate rally. Inspiring that numerous community leaders, friends, & neighbors came together—many for the first time since the pandemic began—to share their impactful stories and show support. ~ Lloyd Doggett ~

  2. ‘Toon: Pat Robertson once told one of his “700 Club” acolytes that the reason God allows 3 year olds to get cancer, she had asked, is because He knows that if these children live they will become like Hitler.  No one responded by asking, in that case, why did He let Hitler survive childhood!! Adolf was the inspiration for Eric Fromm, a holocaust survivor, to come up with the diagnosis of “Malignant” Narcissism.
    BFP: Excellent!

  3. TJI#1: American policing was begun, I have read, in order to find escaped slaves.  they just keep on honoring that vile legacy.
TJI#2: Ike knew some valuable things.
    TJI#3: You tell ’em, Joe!
TJI#4: Well, apparently, he’s not ending the war…it will just go on by way of drones.
    TJI#5: Cool!

  4. Glad to hear from you, TC—we gotta keep flushing, don’t we? LOL! Ditto to Mitch & P. Bowen’s comments, too. Last night I was thinking about when I went to the DNC in ’84 (San Francisco!)& then Rachel M.came on and announced  Walter “Fritz” Mondale had passed away. What a good man of integrity.     I originally ran as an OH Congressional district delegate for Gary Hart & ended up going to the convention as an at-large alternate. I was sooo excited re: Ferraro as VP choice. The male delegates gave up their seats on the floor so we women could cast our votes for Gerry F.!  Lots of great speeches by Jesse Jackson,Mario Cuomo, etc. I was struck by how many foreign press were there. I was a broke student/part-time teacher and stayed in a Berkeley dorm. Some up and comers there in CA gave speeches during non- prime time—–Diane Feinstein & Nancy Pelosi.   And the years have rolled on—-stay safe, all.

    • What a memory of such an experience!  I too grieve Mondale  Did you see the letter he, knowing death was near, wrote and sent to all of his old staffers?  It chokes me up,and I never met him in person.  (I never made it to the DNC – I did reach the State convention in 1992.)

  5. Good news from Colorado … Yesterday, “at the Governor’s Mansion, Governor Jared Polis signed HB21-1072 “Equal Access Services For Out-of-Home Placements” into law with immediate effect providing necessary anti-discriminatory protections for youth and parents in our state foster care system.” (from am email from OneColorado)

Sorry about the pain.. I hope it lets up some.

Cartoo – I don’t get to many movies, but I did catch “The Boys from Brazil.”Thank heaven that was fiction – but there are still too many Schicklgrubers with different names and features.

Blast – “Plastics!” JK – the song far transcends the movie.

Violent anti-fascists pose with a flag they stole from a gathering of right wing demonstrators

  6. Cartoon: Agree with Pat.
BFTP: Simon and Garfunkel was one of my favorites. Great tune.
Sorry that you’re not feeling well. Hopefully you’ll be able to rest, so you’ll get to feeling better soon.
Please do eat/drink, so you’re body has the nutrients it needs.
Prayers being sent your way, Tom.
    Take care.

  7. Derek Chauvin verdict …

    Murder 2  Guilty

    Murder 3  Guilty

    Manslaughter  Guilty

    That’s guilty, guilty, guilty

  8. Thank you, Joanne I’m right behind you.
    PTL !
“Derek Chauvin found GUILTY of ALL charges in the death of Mr. George Floyd.
“It’s almost like there are serious consequences when you put your full weight on someone’s neck for the better part of ten minutes, ignoring the pleas and that of several bystanders.” ~ Mary Janice Davidson – Author ~

    • “You were told Mr. Floyd died because his heart was too big….
After seeing the evidence, you know Mr. Floyd died because Derek Chauvin’s heart was too small.”
~ Prosecutor’s closing statement during the Chauvin trial. ~

  9. catching up, thanks…..glad the devil was convicted today….may it be the first step in letting our country live up to our promise that all are created equally and “peace and justice for all” equally and equitably.

  10. Cartoon: Yep, that mega-jerk is indeed the patron saint of the modern GOP.

  11. I hope the Chauvin 3x guilty verdict made you feel a bit better, TomCat.

  12. Thanks, and way pooped hugs to all! 19
