Robert Reich on the Cabinet – “Let’s make sure Biden’s appointees never forget who they work for.”

Beau – Water as a commodity

Feeling a bit down? Dancing deer should help.

These squirrels aren’t dancing, but the Borat clip the other day reminded me of them.

A four-part Henri “On Cat Food Boredom” I don’t want to split it up – I can plan ahead some, but not four days in a row.

  1. Got a kick out of “Running of the Squirrels” – but it was awfully blurry.
Sorry, Henri – But from what I’ve read, cats really do NOT like variety in their diets.  They like consistency.
And that’s been my experience, too.
Nike gets prescription Hills urinary tract dry & canned wet from Chewy.
(NOT cheap – but better than having to take him to the vets!)

    • Cats, like people, are individuals.  You are fortunate if you have never had the experience of a cat looking at a bowl of the food he’s loved for years, and saying, “GOD.  This stuff is WAFUL!” very clearly … but not being ale to tell youwhat h’d prefer.  I haven’t had it happen with every cat I’ve ever lived with … but I have had it happen.  Sigh.

I didn’t remember ithe squirrels being that blurry … but it’s awfully old.  I think it was recorded in a smaller format than is now being used, and the blurs come from enlarging it.

      • I feel for you, Joanne, because I had that happen to me too, sadly more than once.

There’s also those that love dry food (the good stuff from the vets) for years and then suddenly refuse it and want canned food or the opposite. In general, I’ve learned to offer them a little of both especially when there’s a variety of cats in the house of different ages, backgrounds and tastes. As I said, they’re just like people.

    • My experience with 25+ cats over 60+ years is that cats are just like people. Some like variety in their diets, some don’t; too many rather eat the cheap junk food than the expensive stuff that’s good for them.

      😺😸

      • Is my vet who told me that cats like consistency. He told me that when I shared that I has been getting all different types of Friskies canned food (before I got the Hills prescribed foor) – and he didn’t seem to like it.  The vet said pick the one he seems to like best (seafood) and stick with it.

So that’s where I got that idea.

Fortunately all the cats I’ve had (just 5 – no where near Lona’s 25+) have all been happy with the same thing.

(Nike can be sound asleep on my bed and if I open a can of tuna in the kitchen at the other end of the house, within 30 seconds he’ll be rubbing up against my legs and wanting some of the water I drain off.  The vet said NOT to do that too often, because canned tuna’s pH can cause kidney problems.

  2. Reich: left and right at the same time as always.

Beau: very clear on what I’ve been saying for some years now: water is the new oil.

    Thanks for the humour too.
