It’s a comparatively lazy day here in the CatBox.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update, because WWWendy is coming in the morning to destink the TomCat, cook, and do chores.  Oh God, it’s Monday!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:31 (average 5:40).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Religious Agony:

1206Broncos16-Chiefs22

The Broncos played a hell of a game, but I have to admit that, having watched pro ball since the 1950s, the Chiefs today are the best team I have ever seen.  Beware of Nameless.  We may see some swollen head syndrome.

Short Takes:

From Crooks and Liars: Well, it looks like COVID has yet another trick up it’s sleeve: Long term erectile dysfunction. Yes, that pesky problem that men take little blue pills for to allow them to continue … you know, having sex. Well, it looks like COVID causes vascular problems that are now being shown to cause ED! Even “mild” cases of COVID are causing this issue.

So your cousin/coworker/GOP politician who says “it was just like a little cold” may actually be wrong.

Hmm….. Is this sufficient cause to tell Republicans to attend super-spreader events without masks?  RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Why Trump’s Imprint On The GOP Is Likely To Remain

Considering the influence criminal Fuhrer Trump* will have on the future Republican Reich is a premier reason that the demise on the Republican Reich is imperative.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast of Christmas): Mary’s Boy Child

The man’s voice rings like a bell!  Hugs!!

  1. I was up late last night on account of the Metr Opera and me both mistaking the day. I watched big chinks of the previous night’s opera (which i shouldn’t have been able to get in to – if they had locked it as they are supposed to, and iusually do, I would have discovered my mistake much sooner.) But last night’s I had marked as a must-watch because of the cast – and I was afraid to hope they’ make the same mistake again – so I watched it too. I did skip some but it was still quite late. So I may have lots of typos today.

Cartoon – Yes. Back in the day when we knew how to fight fascists. And thank God we did.

orb – The Chiefs are also probably taking better care of their team. I could wish the Broncos had won more games earlier, but even so, Nameless is probably entitled to enjoy this.

C&L – My first thought when I saw this (after I wiped the smile off my face) was, “Well, this ought to make them wear masks.” And sure enough, “If this doesn’t make them mask up, nothing will” has been echoing through responses all over the ‘Net.

MSNBC – They sure do talk a lot before even giving the guest a chance. At least they say is intelligent, mostly. Bit I’d rather hear more from the guest.

Carol – Great minds indeed. I doubt it will happen again. I am sticking with stuff I did know in my teens (except for one that wasn’t written till I was 22), but it’s all pretty far out. And Harry is worth a lot of hearing. (Did you know that when they made the movie “Carmen Jones” he played “Joe” opposite Dorothy Dandridge as Carmen (dubbed by Marilyn Horne)? And that Pearl Bailey stole the show from everyone with the Gypsy Dance?)

  2. Cartoon: I remember asking my dad about this years ago. He and my father-in-law were in the US Navy at the time, neither talked about this horrible event and loss of lives. At. All.
RA: Yeah, I feel ya. Loss on both teams. Yours and mine.
    C&L: UGH! Who knew, right?
MSNBC: Ugh! Lordy, dt is a danger to himself and others. imho.
    BoC: Beautifully sung!

Early HI to WWWendy for tomorrow’s chores. It’s finally warmed up down here, thankfully. Now…if we could just get some rain…Hope that you have a good restful day, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: “I want Trump’s moral remains interred in a traditional grave, so that I can implement my new business model: Selling asparagus to visitors, from a food van parked just outside the cemetary.” ~ Fritz Walteron ~  DU – H/T JD
    2. “Trump just told his GA crowd to vote June 5th. The election is January 5th.” ~ Colleen P. ~
    3. “After testing positive for Covid 19, Rudy Giuliani filed a lawsuit with the lab demanding the results be overturned. ~ George Takei ~
    4. “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” ~ Mark Twain ~
    5. “Plump Trump’s whining in starting to sound like a balloon with a small leak, flying all over the room in a frenzy. ‘thpthph!!!’ ” ~ Rick G. ~
    6. “Pompeo is throwing one last bash at the State Department before he steals the toilet paper and disappears into the night. He has invited 900 people. What could possibly go wrong?”  ~ ~ Paul G. ~

    • TJI #2 – It figures!
TJI #3 – Just wait till Rudy finds out about the Crooks and Liars article!
TJI #6 – Just wait until Pompeo (and his guests) find out about the Crooks and Liars article!

  3. ‘Toon: Horrid!
C&L: Yes, indeed.  Fewer Republicans making babies sounds good to me.  And since they have such a driving need, despite their voiced hatred of big gov’t, to monitor women’s uteruses across the whole country, and their fear of a growing non-white population here, this is yet another example of good karma.
MSNBC: Trumpism, the deadly spoor of Reagan’s “Facts are annoyances,” will be around for a long time.  It’s appeal to the limbic system-all emotion, no reason- is intense.  He’s been able to convince the country’s outliers that he speaks for and to them, a skill that many fascist strongmen have been able to weaponize over the last almost 100 years.  Don’t forget that while Hitler achieved the chancellorship in 1933, he was jailed in 1923 (November), after the failed Beer Hall Putsch, he was already making a name for himself.  Just like trump did with his idiot “Birtherism,” years before he actually first ran for office.  Trump has been engaged in a quite successful piece of performance art, and those who have risen to his siren call are not going away soon.
    Belafonte’s voice is golden.

  4. If it takes fear of ED to get Maga-idiots to wear masks…then so be it!  Thanks for all you do…..

  5. Cartoon: Horrible event.
RA: Too bad yours and Pat’s teams lost.
C&L: Who would of ever thought it would do that? I like Joanne’s comment about these mask less fools. now thinking twice about it.
MSNBC: tRumpism must hopefully go away on January 20, 2021
BOC: Great tune by Henry. Love him
Hope your day went well. Tell Wendy “Hello” tomorrow.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  6. Glad you had a relaxed day, TomCat.

4:10 I rather put a real one together.

Cartoon: A day the course of history changed.

C&L: ‘Even “mild” cases of COVID are causing this issue.’ I can hear a sigh of relief coming from Melania’s bedroom.

MSNBC: I think Trump’s influence on the GOP is overrated; he’s little more than their Get Out Of Jail Free card for openly exhibiting all that had been growing underground for years. The relationship between Trump and the GOP is quite symbiotic: Trump’s behaviour, backed by his hardcore followers, allows Republicans to come out of the racist, mysogenist, fascist, islamofobic…closet into the open and they in turn kept him out of jail/unimpeached by allowing him to place himself above the law.

    BOXmas: Lovely.

  7. No swollen head WRT the Chiefs – Broncos game.

It wasn’t pretty – but the Chiefs got it done.  And the Broncos really had the long-game going … but were just not able to put it over the end zone.  They’ve got nothing to be ashamed of – some would say they played better than the Chiefs.

(But that’s not how it will be recorded.)

  8. Thanks and Hurry Hugs to all! 26
