It’s another tired day, here in the CatBox.  My meeting with Diana yesterday was Routine, as was grocery delivery, but by the time I finally got to bed I was too tired to sleep well last night, so I’m really shot today.  Deborah, my Home health doctor is coming this morning for my routine monthly checkup.  I am gradually expanding my diet, so that if I do have a problem, I’ll know what caused it.  This morning I had pancakes for breakfast.  Wow!  They were almost as good as a dawg!  Tomorrow I have nothing extra to do, and Sunday is a morning WWWendy day.  TGIF!

Today’s took me 3:12 (average 4:46).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Crooks and Liars: A ruling by Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett that whitewashed racism in the workplace shocked the Internet this week.

In a recent report on Barrett’s notable opinions, the Associated Press highlighted a 2019 workplace discrimination ruling that Barrett wrote for a unanimous three-judge panel.

According to the the [sic] report, Barrett said that there was no evidence that use of the n-word “created a hostile or abusive working environment.”

The AP reported:

“The n-word is an egregious racial epithet,” Barrett wrote in Smith v. Illinois Department of Transportation. “That said, Smith can’t win simply by proving that the word was uttered. He must also demonstrate that Colbert’s use of this word altered the conditions of his employment and created a hostile or abusive working environment.”

According to Barrett’s racist Republican perspective, this is the mere exercise of their God given right and patriotic duty to hate Blacks.  RESIST!!

  1. Do we have any original Trekkies here? George Takei is donating his time and expertise to raise funds for States United to Prevent Gun Violence – in an extremely creative way.

Very glad yesterday was routine, and I hope that tomorrow will be as well. I’m not the world’s biggest fan of pancakes myself, but yes, anything you like tastes sinfully good after deprivation. Be sure to rest.

Cartoon – No one balances like a cat!

TVU – Interesting, because we did indeed have a warning spurt this week. Possibly that was only in Denver and the rest of the state improved enough to get us onto the negative side. Condolences to Missouri! BTW, I read the CDC reclassified some deaths (probably not enough), so if the number suddenly jumps to over 300,000, it won’t be a sudden bloodbath, just a reclassification.

C & L -So she would not consider it a hostile working environment for herself if she were routinely called a c**t?

MSNBC – Chris and Rachel were MOST unhappy (probably everyone at the network was.) Republicans surely do have some warped imaginations – I couldn’t come up with any of those if I tried with both hands for a week.

Blast – I do remember this. Of course, the best way to find a heart of gold is to start by being one oneself.

    • I am an original Trekkie.  I copied the url, and will send it out.
Yes, stay home on Nov. 3rd, and give Biden an even more colossal win!  Dumpy will try to use the lower GOPIGGIE turn-out as a ploy to discount the election, but, they will have had their shot, and there will be no legal grounds for a do-over, or a toss it out.  There will, then, have been smaller lines, with the small-brained having stayed away.  But, I doubt that many will, indeed, stay away.

    • I’m so glad you used that word for comparison.  I wanted to do so, but coming from me, it’s just bit the same. 02

  2. Cartoon: Oh, but…of course!!
TVU: I think that it’s escalating. A lot of folks aren’t wearing masks here. I didn’t get the memo that we are covid free either.
C&L: Being a Catholic, she should know better. No..wait, she doesn’t care about others. A true brown noser.
MSNBC: Rachel covers this subject well. I will say…dt is consistent with his everyday lies, and making stuff up. I lose track of what he says, and don’t believe his bs either. Never have.
BFTP: One of my favorite favorites. Wore the vinyl off the 45 on this one. Neil is one awesome dude too, imho.

Hope that your check-up went well. Glad that you are expanding on your food intake, hope that all goes well on that end. lol Enjoy your day, get your rest, nap, take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

    4. “trump told the crowd that if they did not vote for him, he’d never come to Iowa gain. If that’s a promise, it should be good for several thousand Biden votes.” ~ Al Z. ~

    • TJI #1 – Oh, I don’t know – he’s made his name pretty well known – he may actually have outpaced Satan by now.
TJI #3 – It doesn’t seem to have done him much good. Of course, his supporter, Mercedes someone, tweeting out a comparison of Joe with Fred Rogers as if it were a bad thing didn’t do him any good either.
TJI #6 – True, and elegantly put. So elegantly, in fact, MAGATs are unlikely to understand it.

  3. Not pleased seeing Missouri as the ONLY Red state WRT COVID.

Maybe a bit unconventional, but I LOVE pancakes dripping with honey …

  4. ‘Toon: I am at the end of “The worm at the Core, On the role of Death in Life,” as I believe I mentioned recently. And self-esteem, the sense that one is living up to the expectations of one’s culture, and/or world view, is a theme in the book, as it helps to protect us from anxiety about the death that is coming to all of us.  And “because everyone dies his or her own death, authentic living by courageous awareness and acceptance of death is of necessity a personal undertaking,” said Martin Heidegger.
TVU: the Mid-West continues to show how Trump believers are being treated by his BS.
C&L: This is how structural racism is enabled to thrive!
MSNBC: It is ironic to see Rachel taking apart Trump’s BS which was allowed to be broadcast by NBC!  Some people may say that it was “only fair” to give him air time, as Biden had it, but this jackass chose, for reasons that are probably obvious to us, not to do the debate, calling it “A waste of time.”  At the same time, I have read that some see his not quite denying Qanon as probably disappointing to them, claiming, probably falsely, that he does not know much about it, although, in his typical manner, he sort of professed admiration for their opposition to child sexual molestation.  That’s tantamount to saying that he is a fan of ice cream and apple pie…no shit sherlock!
    BFP: I love his music!

  5. TJI:
#3: So, this makes him chuck Toady.
#4: Most probably.  Sounds from a wounded 3 year old!
#6: Maya became a very wise lady.

  6. Cartoon: That it does.
TVU: Still raising. tRump’s no help with him lecturing at his rallies to not wear mask…stinking fool.
    C&L: Shameful bi*ch.
MSNBC: Rachel does a good job speaking about tRump’s so-called Town Hall. Heard on the news this evening that tRump was upset with his Town Hall meeting last night. I guess he heard that more people enjoyed watching Joe speak truthfully not lies like he does.
BFTP: Another great song and artist. Neil had a lot of good hits.
Nice to hear that your visit with Diana went well and you got your grocery delivery.
Hope your visit with Deborah went well too.
Glad that you’re taking small steps with your food intake, that way you can see what triggers any issues.
I have to do the same with my IBS issues. Plus I’ve found that if I eat certain food too late, they affect my sleep. It does get annoying to have to watch these type of things as we get older.
Hope the rest of your day/evening was a restful one.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  7. How wonderful you can enjoy pancakes for breakfast now, TomCat. I’m so happy for you.

    3:04 Pretty idyllic.

TVU: It’s getting worse, we’re talking an increase in the number of cases here.

C&L: And yet, Amy Coney Barrett appointment will be pushed through before November 3rd because she has demonstrated to Trump and the GOP that she is the perfect candidate for the job and will do whatever they ask of her.

MSNBC: I do despair sometimes. Listening to Rachel go through a number of utterly ludicrous conspiracy theories which the President of the USA is actively promoting, I can’t shake the feeling I’m watching an episode of the Twilight Zone and everyone in America has gone completely bonkers. Could someone wake me up from this nightmare, please.

BFTP: …and I’m getting old…faster than ever before these days, it seems. Thanks for the memories, though.

  8. Thanks and weekend Hugs to all! 19
