It’s a crazy day here in the CatBox.  WWWendy just called and instead of coming late this afternoon, she came this morning.  As a result, I have less for you than I thought today.  Tomorrow is surgery day.  Happy Hump Day!

  1. I’m not sure how cold *it* is here, but *I* was certainly cold last night (and am still running the space heater.)

Cartoon – Is that a drugstore?

TVU – We “developed” countries appear to have “developed a lot more CoViD than the less “developed” countries, don’t we? SO GLAD your test was negative! Not surprised, buttvery, very glad.

My Debate take: I really can’t say anything sensible about the debate, because there was nothing sensible in it (yes, Joe said some sensible things, but Trump* talked over most of them.) I didn’t see a clear winner, unless being truthful is enough to win. I did see a clear loser – the American people.

Chris did a better job than I expected him to do, but getting Trump* to shut up when he’s out of order is like trying to stop a fan with one’s bare hand. Aside from the issue of personal injury, the human hand is not strong enough to stop that.

He did have some decent questions for them – Trump* was incapable of answering and spouted nonsense – Joe got talked over mostly. Who won? There was no winner. The American peole definitely lost.

It’s now clear why Trump* did no targeted preparation – he’s been preparing for 5 years with the same bullshit and now has it down cold.

My fervent wish is, “From Mulvaney’s mouth to God’s ear.” (Although not for the reason he had in mind.)

(I did take a page and a half of notes, but the pages were 4″ x 5.5″)

  2. Cartoon: Yep, pretty much!
TVU: Same as the other day.
I couldn’t even get through a few minutes, without feeling ill. Joe did a good job with his remarks, but dt acted like a petulant child of 5. He (dt) kept interrupting Joe, with his trying to take control of the debate, in which, he failed miserably. I felt bad that Joe even had to be there, but kudos for his spot on comments to dt.

Hope that you have a good rest of your day, take good care, relax, and Thanks! Tom.

*This just in: “One good thing about Joe Biden is he doesn’t owe $421 million dollars.” ~ Brian S. ~
    2. “You’re the worst president America has ever had.” ~ Joe Biden, last night’s debate ~
    3. re: debate last night – “I’m paid to watch this stuff and I could barley stomach it.”  ~ James Carville ~
    4. “Chris Wallace’s debate performance tonight is a great reminder that Kinder teachers are underpaid.”
    ~ Don E. ~
    5. “‘Will you shut up, man?’ might be Biden’s Gettysburg address.” ~ Jeffrey G. ~
    6. “Not for nothing, but the mics should be turned off when the other person is on the clock. Trump is incapable of letting an adult speak.” ~ John Pavlovitz ~

    • Best to you, Tom for tomorrow.
Hope that all goes well for you, take good care!

    • TJI #3 I wish I’d been paid! Not that any amount would have been enough.
TJI #6 – The presidential Debate Commission is already talking about serious changes, and muting the one who doesn’t have the floor is being strongly pushed at the Daily Kos article on it. (Along with tasering, but I think that’s snark.)

  3. While there certainly are times that it is good to be among those counted as lucky, this may not have been luck, but smarts.  Glad to hear that result!
TVU: S.America is jealous of us, is that it?
I watched the first 30 minutes of the televised debacle!  I left the room for the sake of the TV…and not having to clean up the pieces after the hammer found it.  I don’t think that would qualify under the terms of the warranty!
    Good luck, tomorrow!

  4. I watched the debate last night. Was like Bernie said he was, on the tonight show, was screaming at the tv. I did sign a petition last night that was for pulling the plug on the mic. tRump had no right speaking when Biden was. Biden showed respect to tRump, tRump of course doesn’t know what respect is. I felt for Chris Wallace trying to tell tRump to shut-up in a polite way. Glad I’m not a drinker, or I would of been hitting it good from the headache the debate gave me.
Cartoon: It’s getting really bad to go shopping anymore. The prices have been insane thanks to Covid-19.
TVU: We’re staying in the red zone. So no changes for the businesses for the time being. We’re up to 47,180 confirmed cases and 783 deaths.
Happy to hear that you don’t have the virus. Like I mentioned yesterday, you’ve been staying away from others.

I want to wish you the best of luck for tomorrow operation. I’ll be praying that everything goes well for you.
Hope you and Wendy got things taken care this morning.
Take care. Make sure you get your rest so you’ll be ready for tomorrow.
    Thanks TomCat

  5. Here are some reactions to the debate.  I watched part of it but I had to stop as the streaming was very bad.  I don’t know what was worse — the streaming or the actual debate.

I will watch it in a bit but what I did see was nothing but unadulterated bullshit from the Squatter of the WH, the human vermin that has infested the WH.

Yesterday would have been my mother’s 92nd birthday so I was a bit pensive yesterday.

May the hands and skills of the surgeon be blessed tomorrow for you. Take care! I’ll be thinking about you!

  6. Hope your stent placement & recovery goes easy-peasy!

  7. Well, I have now listened to the entire debate, if you can call it that.  Bernie said he was yelling at the television while I did something uncharacteristic of me — I let loose with a string of F-bombs.  I think I need an entire bottle of extra strength Tylenol!  Chris Wallace, of whom I am not a fan, was getting obviously frustrated with the interruptions particularly from the Squatter.  The Squatter looked angry all evening while Joe laughed at times, I suspect with incredulity at the Squatter’s lies and BS.  I have to agree with one commenter, who when asked if he thought the Squatter’s poor performance and lying changed any minds, said no.  The Squatter’s sheeple have drunk the koolaid and there is no hope for them!

Is it me or have others noticed how the Squatter words his response to only paying $750 in income tax? He says he “paid millions and millions in income tax”. He does not say “in US income tax”. He might pay millions in income tax but it is to foreign governments, not the US government which is the one that counts. Talk about being deceptive! I loathe the Squatter!

I think one of my favourite moments was when Joe referred to the Squatter as “this clown”! Joe better be careful or he will get sued by the American Association of Professional Clowns for defamation!

    • “I don’t know what was worse — the streaming or the actual debate.” – You mean the streaming or the screaming?

I was going to tell you not to torture yourself by watching, but I’m too late.  I’ve been saying “no winner,” even though Joe clearly won on points, for the exact reason you state -very few minds were changed.  There may have been some movement, though, more than we think.  My eyebrows raised at the responses to the post debate questions on whether the attacks were fair.  Trump’s attacks were considered unfair by 60-something to a number i the 20s.  Joe’s attacks were condisered fair by about the same margin.  That’s a much wider gap than polls on voting and approvals.s attacks

  8. Glad to hear you’re not one of the 7,408,066 cases and that you can go ahead with the stent placement. Good luck tomorrow, TomCat. I hope you can report back to us soon that the stent is allowing you a bit more food without much discomfort.

The consensus on the debate here is that we could have done without, much like many Americans could have done without. All question the wisdom of having another two. Most professionals dread that they have to watch them because their job demands it.

  9. Thanks and Back to Bed Hugs for all! 🛏
