It’s a hectic day here in the CatBox.  I have the AC working, but I have to babysit it.  I lost the washer in my portable O2 unit, and Providence Medical Equipment will deliver one this moaning.  I’ll be scarce for the next few days. Please expect no more than a daily Personal Update before Monday.  Tomorrow I have to take the TriMet Lift Bus to to the hospital for my second infusion in 90°+ weather.  Because of WWWendy’s work schedule, I had to schedule the appointment for 3:20 PM.  I’ll nap during the morning. WWWendy will pick me up at 5:30.  When we get home at around 6:00 PM, we still have a whole normal WWWendy day to do.  I’ll be exhausted and will get to bed way late.  I may be too worn out to do more Thursday.  Friday Deborah, the Providence Home Health doctor is coming for a routine visit.  Saturday is a morning WWWendy day.  Sunday I’m meeting with several prison volunteer coworkers and former prisoners on Zoom.  If I can do more, I will, but I’ll be busier than a long-tail TomCat in a rocking chair showroom.  Tuesday is flush your Republicans day.  Flush fast.  They’re sneaky as hell.  Oh God, it’s Tuesday!

Today’s took me 3:12 (average 5:17).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

US Cases: 6,486,426
US Deaths: 193,587
Plus thousands of GOP plague murder victims Republicans are hiding from us

Short Takes:

From NY Times: Just before hundreds of far-right activists recently tried to storm the German Parliament, one of their leaders revved up the crowd by conjuring President Trump.

“Trump is in Berlin!” the woman shouted from a small stage, as if to dedicate the imminent charge to him.

She was so convincing that several groups of far-right activists later showed up at the American Embassy and demanded an audience with Mr. Trump. “We know he’s in there!” they insisted.

Mr. Trump was neither in the embassy nor in Germany that day — and yet there he was. His face was emblazoned on banners, T-shirts and even on Germany’s pre-1918 imperial flag, popular with neo-Nazis in the crowd of 50,000 who had come to protest Germany’s pandemic restrictions. His name was invoked by many with messianic zeal.

It was only the latest evidence that Mr. Trump is emerging as a kind of cult figure in Germany’s increasingly varied far-right scene.

As much as the Republican Reich tries to claim that Trump* is not a Nazi, even foreign Nazis know who their Fuhrer is! RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Study: 93% Of Protests In The U.S. This Summer Were Peaceful

Left wing protests are generally more peaceful than those of Republican Ammosexuals. Nevertheless, I agree that there are violent wing nuts on both sides. The difference is that that the lefties reject our wing nuts and condemn their violence. The Republican Reich love and accept their wing nuts and applaud, encourage, and cultivate their violence.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast of protest): I Approve This Message

“Change comes from here.” Amen! I am a dying activist, and I approve this message. Protest like the 60s!  RESIST!!

  1. I may have to interrupt my comment – I’m having groceries delivered. I didn’t want to make somone come out on a holiday, so instead I’m making them come out in (maybe) snow. Oh, well. – It came early and I have the frozen and refrigerated stuff out away. I’ll do the rest before I post videos. Update: I stepped out to the mailbox, and it actually was snowing. It was very light, and not sticking, but it was snow. Amazing.

You will indeed be busy. Greetings to everyone – Deborah and WWWendy and Terry and Sandy. And everyone else.

Cartoon 1 – I signed a card for him on line! Bless him!

Cartoon 2 – Let’s hope n more of that. It was a contributing cause to what we have now.

Map – six-and-a-half million and 200 thousand this week, I predict.

NYT – That’s NOT what we want out President to be internationally known for.

Protests – We do have a few. The right Wing has a hager percentage. While it is possible to be on the left yet authoritarian, or on the right yet libertarian, that is not usually the way it falls out, and it’s the authoritarianism that goes with the violence. (Yes, I was on the Political Compass site over the holiday, I admit it. My views are down towards the lower left corner although not quite in it.)

Roy – I think this may be his best. I know it’s not flashy like “Vote-him-away, vote-him-away,” but it still brought me to tears. I am a left wing libertarian with pre-existing conditions and I approve this message.

  2. Cartoon 1: Happy Birthday, Bernie!!
Cartoon 2: ‘Nixon’s resignation had not put an end to the desire among many to see him punished. The Ford White House considered a pardon of Nixon, but it would be unpopular in the country.’ *wiki. I was overseas at the time, (military), and did not have an opinion on this. I do remember my father being upset about him being pardoned by Ford though.
    TVU: Same
NYT: Yikes!!! Not good. At. All.
MSNBC: What you so aptly said, TC. I agree.
    BOP: Great song.
dt is an ID. I can’t listen to him w/his lies, and pretending that he’s the best thing since sliced bread. UGH!
    GO JOE!!! Go BLUE!
Gosh, you’re going to be very busy these next few days. Hope you get your AC to work properly. Healing thoughts on your infusion, and HI to WWWendy, and Deborah. Best to you on your Zoom meeting with former prisoners, and prison volunteer coworkers.  Get your rest, take it easy when you can, take good care, and Thanks, Tom. Hope that you have a good rest of your week, and take it easy.

    • TJI##: How about I guess that the answer must be some, or all, of the many possible iterations of “TRA45TOR!”

    • TJI #6 – Actually that’s not a half bad idea.  An impeached President, even if not convicted, would definitely have confidence issues.  But – on the other hand – Republicans would be sure to abuse it.

  3. THAT’S one heck of a busy schedule!
    Happy Birthday Bernie!
Pardoning that (now) “lightweight” bastard was a mistake, gave a bad message to the bastards that have followed.
TVU: Mexico and Argentina are hurting!
NYT: This is how a sickness spread around the planet!  I just last night, finished reading Barbara Tuchman’s marvelous, derailed, and somewhat morbid book “The Guns of August” about the beginnings, and the first month of WWI.  The mention of the idiots with the Kaiser’s flag, brings back to mind how closely Trump is following the cruel mentality of the Kaiser, and his army’s use of “schrecklichkeit:”A military policy of TERRORIZING (caps are mine) an enemy, especially through its civilian population. A general atmosphere or situation of awfulness or dread. As used in WWI, in Belgium, within the first weeks of that war, The Kaiser, and his army, could not understand why Belgian civilians would have the nerve to resist the invasion the formerly neutral country.
Trump can not understand how anyone can not like him, can not understand how it is not his personality, per se, that people don’t like, but the actions that stem from it.  His behavior causes the blow-back, but then those of us here, have known that all along.
DHS has named the White Supremacist movement as the biggest terrorist threat to the country which, in my mind makes Trump a terrorist.
    MSNBC: No surprise.
    BOP: Zimmerman rocks!   From Phoenix?

  4. Cartoon 1: Happy Birthday, Bernie.
    Cartoon 2: Pardon him…why??
TVU: Creeping up again, up to 41,077. 709 deaths
NYT: Shameful that this cult like demon currently in the W.H. goes out and speaks such hatred and encourages  violence.
    MSNBC: Agree with you, TomCat
    BOP: Great tune. Like it.
You sure have a busy schedule this week. Good luck with your infusion tomorrow. Be safe.
    Tell Wendy “hi”.
It was suppose to be in the 90 today, but the marine layer such around, plus all of the smoke from Northern California has been covering the skies here. So it stayed at 75 today. Strange, but scary.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. FINGERS CROSSED!

I’m anxious to see (no jinxing) what post Pete Buttigieg will be assigned in 2021.

  6. Pace yourself, dear friend. I understand your bucket list is very long and you want to get to every item on it but you’ll need to pace yourself to have time to savour that moment when you’ve done all for the longest possible time.

3:14 If you goop them, they’ll splinter. Solve them in hot water, perhaps?

Cartoon 1: May you be with us for many, many more years, Bernie!

Cartoon 2: Trump wants a replay but with a bigger pardon.

Update: Yesterday, US deaths were 193,259; today US deaths were 193,587. The average was above 1000 for weeks, now only 328? A miracle.

NYT: It is no surprise that German Neo-Nazis see Trump as their new Fuhrer but it scares the hell out of me.

MSNBC: 93% of the protests were peaceful, yet 54% of those protests were met by violent authorities. I dare say that even more than 93% of the protest would have been peaceful had protesters not been provoked by violence from police, national guard and right-wing provocateurs. No, not 100%. Sadly there are some left-wingers who believe that after all the violent protest leading to so little change violence is the only answer but, as you say, these are condemned by the majority of left-wing protesters and protest organizers.

BOP: Fantastic song. I’m an Australian immigrant from The Netherlands who has no vote but sticks her nose in American politics anyway because it concerns the whole world and I approve this message.

  7. Thanks and Hump Day Hurry Hugs to all! 26
