Expect the worst – Kimberly is the speaker Andy was talking about, who couldn’t see the microphone. And what a lunatic she is, Now, whose “girl friend” is she again? QAnon – it is a cult, and it’s not even a new one. The accusation of pedophilia, in its essence, goes back to accusations of “other tribes” sacrificing children to Moloch. It just has a shiny new name today. It’s still talking about the Illuminati, Jews, and Freemasons, though. (Sometime look up how many of our Founding Fathers were in fact Freemasons.)
Wicker Sam – That was one creepy movie. (And burning human sacrifices sounds more like something Republicans would do.
Pramila – I think, TC, you have noted in the past that the American far Left is, compared to the rest of the world, at the center, leaning a bit to the right. On a global level, that’s encouraging. Locally, it is beyond depressing.
Amazing disgrace both parts – It is almost too appropriate to riff on “amazing grace” to discuss this, since the original hymn was written by a reformed slave trader. Yes, it is possible for racists to reform, but unfortunately, they seem to only do it one at a time, and there are far too many of them out there. With regard to changing or burying history … it’s those “monuments” which revise history. Unfortunately, I’m not convinced that getting rid of them is going to lead to any more truth in teaching history. Not that I have a workable better idea.
Amusing, incisive, and a joy to watch as always! In re the “Amazing Disgrace” of Confederate and white-supremacist monuments, here is a petition to rename the Edmund Pettus Bridge after the late John Lewis.
