It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  Store to Door should come with my groceries between 11 and 12:30.  WWWendy will be coming at around 5:00 to destink the gross TomCat, change my pain patch, goop, and help with chores.  My first Pembrolizumab treatment is scheduled next Wednesday.  Because of WWWendy’s work schedule, I have to take the TriMet Lift bus there, but I timed it to finish at 4:30 PM so WWWendy can pick me up.  Thank you all for your prayers and support.  Have a great day.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:41 (average 5:27).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

US Cases: 5,361,269
US Deaths: 169,161
Plus the many dead Republicans are hiding from us

Short Takes:

From Politico (June): The House’s highest-ranking Republicans are racing to distance themselves from a leading GOP congressional candidate in Georgia after POLITICO uncovered hours of Facebook videos in which she expresses racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic views.

The candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, suggested that Muslims do not belong in government; thinks black people “are held slaves to the Democratic Party”; called George Soros, a Jewish Democratic megadonor, a Nazi; and said she would feel “proud” to see a Confederate monument if she were black because it symbolizes progress made since the Civil War.

Greene finished first in a primary for a deep-red, northwest Georgia seat last week by a nearly 2-to-1 margin over the second-place candidate. She is entering an August runoff as the favorite to secure the Republican nomination for a district where that is tantamount to winning the general election in November. Her initial victory — which has sparked panic in GOP circles — comes as Republicans are grappling with a national reckoning over racial injustice and police brutality after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by a Minneapolis police officer last month.

Barf Bag Alert!!

Greene, who is also a member of the QAnon Republican conspiracy cult, just won the runoff, so I predict several Parades for this Republican ding bat after January. If I’m dead, someone else will have to take over Parade duty.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Joe: There Is Nothing Radical, Left-Wing About Funding The USPS

Republicans have wanted to defund the post office long before they made Trump* their Fuhrer. UPS and FedEx have contributed BIG bucks for the oligopoly. But criminal Fuhrer Trump* has other reasons. He can’t win without stealing the election or staging a coup through the Gestapo we saw in Portland!  Killing USPS serves both crimes.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast of protest): DEAR DONALD TRUMP Song

Amen! Kudos to left wing protestors! RESIST!!

  1. ‘Toon:  Rancid snake oil, for that matter!
TVU: Not good.  what happened to Florida, did someone cut off the SEast section and float it out to sea?
Politico: May she brazenly dig a still deeper hole for herself! Bunch of bastards!
MSNBC: I’m not going to watch the sob talk about anything, especially the nefarious, despicable, venal character of the USPS.  I’d rather he talk about all the conflicts of interest that have been exposed in the dealings of his Mr. DeJoy!!
    BOP: Good on her!

  2. By the time you read this, WWWendy will have come and gone for today. But best wishes to her anyway, and always.

Robert Reich (the CC doesn’t work for me, but there is a good deal of written word in it anyway.

Four years ago, A music teacher handed Hillary’s concession speech to her class and assigned them to write a song.

    Cartoon – Yup.

Map – So true about the hiding.

Politico – Louie Gohmert should be happy since he will no longer be the dumbest member of Congress. (Let’s hope he doesn’t take it as a challenge.)

USPS – Again, we can help by buying merch. One person’s purchase doesn’t do much, but if enough of us dp, it can make at least some difference. Right now, my bigges concern is Trump*’s stooge take out the sorting machines.

Protest – Great song, though IMO it would have meen nice to eliminate the word”Dear.”

  3. Cartoon: Yep, and then some.
    TVU: No update. ugh!
Politico: Gulp! Sure don’t need someone like that with her hate in office. Shamefully, I’m sure dt backs her up 100% too.
MSNBC: He’s (dt’s) a cluster, and hurting the citizens, by his actions. Unreal.
YT: Excellent! Very well done, and her words! YES!

Hope that you got your groceries and stored them. HI, WWWendy, hope you and your family are doing well. Thank you for taking such good care of our beloved TC, we appreciate you! Hope that you have a good and relaxing rest of your day, get a nap in, and take good, good care, Tom.

    3. “We’re disappointed that instead of putting to work to solve America’s problems, the President chose to stay on his luxury golf course to announce unworkable, weak and narrow policies, announcements to slash unemployment benefits, and endanger senior’s SS and Medicare.” ~ Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Leader Chuck Shumer ~

  4. Cartoon: Gee….doesn’t it make you think of someone pushing “drinking Clorox” for fighting Covid-19?
TVU: Hoping it continues slowing down here. Sorry to see it hasn’t elsewhere.
Politico: Sick of these type of rotten creeps winning these races. We need them out.
MSNBC: tRump has no right destroying the USPS. Been signing lots of petitions. Removing sorting machines is a bunch of sh*t. Hate to tell the bas*ard that he’s not going to win the election, so give it up your flipping fool.
    BOP: Great one.
Hope you and Wendy get your tasks all taken care of. Tell her “Hi”. Glad it will be next week when you get your new treatment started. That gives you a few week since your new higher doses of the Fentanyl was started.
Hope the rest of your day went well.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. I’m so happy your Pembrolizumab treatment is scheduled for next Wednesday, TomCat. Not a day too soon.

3:06 Though not native Bougainvillea is very popular here too.

CArtoon: Snake oil? It’s arsenic they’re selling.

Update: A little ahead of your research, TomCat, but this was mentioned in OZ about the US COVID-19 numbers:  “The United States reports almost 1,500 deaths from COVID-19 in one day, the country’s highest daily total since May.”

Politico: Cowardly hypocrites; those Republicans in Georgia know damn well that Marjorie Taylor Greene won the nomination with a 2:1 margin and the runoff because of her racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic views. They pull away from her now, but when she wins her seat in November she’ll be welcomed with open arms by the GOP. We’ve seen it happen too many times.

MSNBC: Should you ever be under the impression that the rest of the world doesn’t know what’s going on, read Donald Trump’s dirtiest 2020 election trick involves messing with the US Postal Service all the way from ABC news in Oz.

BOP: What a talent! Awesome song.

  6. So glad you got your proposed treatment approved and scheduled so quickly TC!  Hope it does all you hope with minimal undesired impacts. Now that our state data glitch, related to lab reporting, is fixed our Gov. says there are signs CA has his a plateau rather than continued increases, especially in the hospital data, both ICU and other beds, reducing concerns about insufficient capacity.  Of note is overall positive tests data have children at about 10% (9.6% yesterday or more than 57,000) supporting state restrictions on school openings in counties on the watch list.
Today’s collection includes two issues where congressional GOP leaders found the backbone to differ from Trump: their support of Greene’s primary opponent and opposition to Trump’s idea of delaying the election. Lots of organizations have been emailing guidance about how to handle a mail in ballot to ensure it gets counted (how early to request, how early to mail, relative risks of drop boxes, tracking ballot status, etc.) and I’ve seen lots of sharing of that guidance on social media, too.

  7. Thanks and TGIF Hugs to all! 29
