It’s another muggy day, here in the CatBox, as we’re moving into a heat wave. Tomorrow please expect no more than a Personal Update or an Open Thread. It’s WWWendy’s last day, before her trip. She will be bringing her friend with her to teach her how to destink a vulgar TomCat. Her friend will come to help me shower on Saturday or Sunday. She made me promise to be on my best behavior. Of course, even my best is misbehaving! Oh God, it’s Monday!

From ESPN: The Washington Redskins will officially announce Monday morning that they will be changing their nickname, though no new name will be revealed just yet, a source confirmed Sunday night.
It had been widely expected that Washington would change its name, and one source said Saturday night that an announcement of a new name would come soon.
Sports Business Daily, which first reported Monday’s official announcement, reported that the new name would not be announced yet because trademark issues are pending.

Past – It was already a blast from the past then. Joe Hill died in 1915 and the song lyrics refer to him as “ten years dead.” We need a good number of those old union solidarity songs back IMO. We have forgotten what solidarity means.

Joe Hill – ne too. And many great somgs were written and have been forgotten. One that’s not completely forgotten is The Union Maid (who never was afraid). It was parodied i the 80’s as The Union Cat (who on the table sat/at union talks/and for a box/she often used the Boss’s hat). I had a subscription to “Sing Out!” magazine in the sixties, but no longer have the magazines, and have forgotten so much.
Actually, it is somewhat arcane. From my own Jewish roots, I know that the piece of foreskin snipped off in a circumcision is a “schmuck” in Yiddish. I consider that a perfect description of Butcher Bibi Netanyahu.

TVU: Governor Newson back tracked today and shut down all indoor places; churches, salons/barbers, fitness and indoor restaurants today. We’ll be over 20,000 Covid-19 cases just here in San Diego today when they update this afternoon. California is just under 330,000 cases, with 7040 deaths. Not looking good at all.
ESPN: Good for them. They’ve been talking about it for months.
AN: It’s insane. Our local school board just announced that all classes will be done online only. Glad they are listening to the idiot.

With a heatwave coming on, anybody that needs to come near you – to replace patches, perhaps – between tomorrow evening and Saturday/Sunday needs to prepare themselves. Perhaps you’ll need to take your “whore’s bath” twice a day to keep those bacterial farts in check.

ESPN: About time. This time the BLM movement is helping thing along, earlier attempts to have the management change their name were futile.
Alternet: Trump is convinced that the two weeks incubation time between infection and getting sick is long enough to forget that he’s responsible for the start of the second peak two weeks after he ordered the kids to back to school. He believes his base has the same memory problems he has and for many of them that’s true. They’ve already forgotten that the first peak now is a result of opening the country up for business too soon.
