It’s a frustrating day, here in the CatBox.  On the plus side, I owed no money to Infernal Revenue oe Oregon Revenue.  Something got caught in my esophageal tumor, and I was unable to keep anything down for most of the morning, including my entire breakfast.  My palliative care nurse was supposed to visit and has not called.  I called, and they don’t have me on the schedule.  I’m waiting for a call from a supervisor, because this is the second time their palliative care nurse has stood me up.  Tomorrow please expect only a Personal Update from me.  I have my appointment at the hospital and will be gone all morning.  I will learn the results of the mutation analysis of my tumor.  Oh God, it’s Monday!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:04 (average 4:44).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Trump* Virus Update:

0706TrumpVirusMap

US Cases: 2,985,897
US Deaths: 132,610

Short Takes:

From NY Times (Hat-Tip Mitch for referral): After the bruising crises we’re now going through, it would be wonderful if we could somehow emerge a fairer nation. One possibility is to revive an old idea: sharing the profits.

The original idea for businesses to share profits with workers emerged from the tumultuous period when America shifted from farm to factory. In December 1916, the Bureau of Labor Statistics issued a report on profit-sharing, suggesting it as a way to reduce the “frequent and often violent disputes” between employers and workers, thereby “fostering the development of a larger spirit of harmony and cooperation, and resulting, incidentally, in greater efficiency and larger gains.”

I fully support this idea. Its egalitarian properties is the reason Republicans oppose it.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): STUPIDLY BIGLY – Parody of Eleanor Rigby

Good one, Don! 95% of the stupid people in the US have one thing in common. They are Republican!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (NBC News Channel): Trump Goes After Left, Blames China For Coronavirus in July 4th Speech

Barf Bag Alert!!

Note all the lies and the projection. Criminal Fuhrer Trump* compares the Democrats to the monsters that resemble him so well. He calls his rabid Republican Sheeple heroes, but makes no mention of true heroes, the service people Trump* refuses to protect from Russian bounties, because he’s in thrall to Putin [R-RU].  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from Woodstock): Crosby Stills Nash – A Long Time coming – Woodstock 1969

Dedicated to all the people who were at Woodstock, or wanted to be. Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

Vote Blue No Matter Who Top to Bottom!!

  1. What a pain in the back of the lap! Let us know hw this transpires. I hope the day improves.

Meidas Touch “He Went to Jared”

    Lincoln Projec “Historic”

I missed this story while it was happening, and now one of the victims has died. It is a story that needs to be told, and heard.

You can always count on Australia to research and publish stuff the United States media won’t touch – or won’t follow through.

Cartoon – That can’t be the only way – there are too many of them for that. (Not to mantion the fact that that’s a more rational reason then most of them are capable of.)

Map – Oh, man, three million in 3… 2… 1…

TNY – Yes. It’s a great concept. And there were mechanisms for it available as late as the nineties. At least for small businesses. Getting billionaires to jump on it is going to be next to impossible, with a few notable exceptions.

PP/TFT – Good to see them! Yes, a lovely blend of great music, great parody, and a great set of laws.

YT – I really cannot listen. But I have read about it.

Past – No, not on my radar. Good, though.

    • Here’s a TJI – it’s from Stephen Robinson at Wonkette and is in reference to the story I linked above from Daily Kos: “July 4 isn’t the anniversary of when Americans first gazed slack-jawed at a flag while fireworks exploded. It’s not Sit Down And Shut Up Day. Americans fought a revolution against perceived tyranny. As someone who wasn’t Thomas Jefferson said, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Protesters who disrupt and challenge the status quo march the same path as John Lewis. They are the ones who care enough to make America great. They don’t deserve to die.”

  2. Cartoon: Yep, pretty much. I hated riding the bus, so I usually hitched a ride home w/someone.
TVU: Statement from a tv station here: “12 county TV viewing area, saw 29 covid 19 deaths from 6/29 to 7/5 deadliest single week since the pandemic started. So sad !! Meanwhile, dt is mum about this.
NYT: Great piece. I totally embrace this philosophy too, yes, the R’s hate any train of thought or action regarding this.
    PPC: Excellent! Sharing this one!
BBA: Definitely barf material. I can’t.listen.to.his.lies, and his spewing his hatred. What would he do if he didn’t have a prompter?? A loser, and a traitor.  Get him outta there!!
    BFTP: Excellent !!

Good news! that you didn’t owe the IRS anything…but what a shame about your not being able to keep anything down. Also, that seems very unprofessional for a ‘no-show’ for your palliative care nurse appointment 2nd time around. The mere fact of not calling to explain either… is rude to me…imho. I hope that the supervisor can help you get the care/appointment with the nurse in an expedient manner too. Best to you tomorrow too, for your hospital appointment, to and fro too. Take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: “Simon and Schuster announced Monday that it will publish the ‘tell all book’ written by President Trump’s neice Mary, on July 14th – 2 weeks earlier than previously planned – due to the ‘high demand and extraordinary interest.” ~ Rashaan A. ~
    2. “Under President Kennedy, we went to the moon. Under Trump, we can’t even go to Europe.” ~ R.B.~
    3. “Mr. President – Use your authority and fix the shortage of PPE before you tee off for yet another round of golf.” ~ Joe Biden ~
    4. “Trump is the most wretched man to ever become President, and his vile reign has cloaked America in a shared National misery.” ~ Steve Schmidt ~
    5. MAGA lady – “You come off as a Trump hater.”  Me – “Good! I was afraid I wasn’t communicating clearly.
    ~ Jon Pavlovitz ~

    • Much as I dislike to say it, being an admin type myself, but, if he’s not on the schedule, you can’t blame the nurse.  That’s admin’s fault.  One can’t show up or call about something one doesn’t know about.

TJI #2 – If anyone but Joe had said that, I’d think it was naive to expect Trump to do anything decent.  But Joe, in hos position, has the grace and dignity to follow the form even while knowing it is in this case, empty.

TJI #% – Wow!  That’s strong for John.  He is such a gentle man.  I’d love to see the exchange that led to it.

  3. Frustrations, more of them, that’s what you need…NOT!!!!!!
‘Toon: So, all those anti-busing folks were right?  (snark)
TVU: On the verge/cusp of 3,000,000!  Are we get, yet?
PPC- One out of Four?  Holy shit!  Copernicus is rolling in his grave!  Apparently, You-Tbe is being used to indoctrinate more, and more people into the flat Earth idiocy.
    BBA: Holy shit, again!
BFTP: Wonderful!  Then, I checked out the short video about Woodstock.  I’d never seen that one before.

  4. Cartoon: Never had to use them thank goodness.
TVU: We’ve gone up, so they are now closing indoor eating and bars. It’s a real shame that tRump is so ignorant about the whole Covid-19 situation.
NYT: I’m all for that too. Wish they would practice that concept.
    PPC: Great parody.
BBA: Agree with you and others. He’s despicable.
BRTP: Great song/group. Always was a big fan of CSN&Y.
Sorry to hear that they screwed up again. Maybe from now on, you might consider calling them on Friday, (or the day before if it’s on another week day,  before to make sure that you’re on their schedule. It’s more work for you, but worth knowing your appointment is scheduled.
Good luck at the hospital in the morning.
I sure hope you get to feeling better.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. This Monday sure made itself known to you, TomCat. What a terrible day. Monday’s should be taken off the calendar, shouldn’t they? Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

    2:48 When will it topple?

Cartoon: Only when little girls beat up little boys? The other way around apparently is already common practice among Republicans.

Update: Good to see a bit more green on the map but it doesn’t mean anything.

NYT: Of course this egalitarian idea needs to be reintroduced and that is exactly why the representatives of those rich company owners, i.e. the GOP, will vehemently oppose it even as it stands to reason that the comparatively small amount they invest in their worker’s income, is an investment in their worker’s welfare and will come back to them because especially low-income earners will spend the money immediately and help the economy put the brake on its rapid decline.

PP: Isn’t it brilliant? I like to add another collateral to Chipolla’s Five Fundamental Laws Of Stupidity: Not voting for a Democrat in 2016 was the most stupid mistake Americans could make; not voting for a Democrat would be the ultimate stupidity.

NBC: First Trump portrayed America as the sole country that freed the world from the German Nazi’s as if the rest of the world wasn’t involved, while the military casualties alone were many times those of Americans. Britain’s numbers alone were almost as high as those of the US. Then he went on in the style he, or rather Stephen Miller, copied from A. Hitler to praise American heroes every war in the Middle East that America started, and where it dragged in its allies with lies.

By that time my gall was on the rise, but I nearly lost it when he then threw every nasty word in the dictionary at all those not in his hero group, calling THEM fascists. And again he gets away with it and my eyes fill with tears of frustration. Thus must stop.

    BFTP: Oh, yes.
