It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  WWWendy is coming, and we have lots to do.  Tomorrow I supposedly have a Palliative Care Nurse coming from Providence Elder at Home.  How much I publish depends on what time she comes, and how long she stays.  Have a good day!

  1. Many good wishes to WWWendy, and I hope all goes smoothly today – and tomorrow.

TC, you’ve talked about how far right we are as a nation, and that it’s hopefully – moving leftward. Beau looks at this phenomenon, from black and white perspectives.

    Cartoon – Happy Birthday Pam!

Cartoon – My, doesn’t that sound familiar!

Map – Just spitting distance from three million. Or coughing distance.

Past – Another song, and event, I missed. Oh, well.

    • Beau: what he is referring to is a form of backlash on the part of the black community. When oppressiveness is experienced, backlash occurs.  Whether it can be openly expressed, or not, is another issue.  His putting a finger on just where our Democrats are, on the right/left continuum, in relationship to the rest of the world, is just insightful!
Having been a “Pink Diaper Baby” I have long held egalitarian views, and believe that IF we are lucky, this whole Trump/McConnell/ Barr horse-shit show will push the country decently far in that direction.  Capitalism, especially the American version, poisons the planet, as well as those of us who are the living parts thereof.  Trump’s kissing up to the fossil fuel industry, in so many ways, is emblematic of the way capitalism eats up everything, an everyone, in its greedy ways.  capitalism needs continual, unending growth in order to sustain itself, but the resources it requires are not infinite.  When St. Reagan said “You can have it all!,” he paved the way for the bigger, more gas guzzling cars, that were sold to Americans, by the Capitalist troops of Madison Ave.
We are seeing rising temperatures all around the planet, including Siberia, and Alaska, and Antarctica; saw sinkhole in  Siberia years ago.  We may have well passed the tipping point for the end of society, and human existence already, but we just keep trucking’ on, blindly.  Whether this is true, or not, Trump is the monster who helps so many people keep the blinders on, and feeds the inequality that Reagan boosted so sadly well.

  2. Happy Birthday, Pam, hope that you have a wonderful and Happy Day!
    Cartoon: Of course you did!
TVU: We are at high numbers @8258 today. ugh!
BFTP: Boy, this sure brings back some great memories for me, great song!

Hope that you and Wendy (HI there!) get all your chores done, and that you get a chance to relax. Take good care, Tom.

*This just in: “Mary Hart flashes the white supremacy hands gesture to Trump supporters at Mount Rushmore. She just made ‘Karen’ look like Glenda the Good Witch.” ~ Mary W. ~
    2. “Civilians don’t salute.” ~ Lincoln Project  ~
    3. “Bill Barr attempted to interfere in yet another prosecution where he tried to visit Ghislane Maxwell in jail. Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyer has refused to let Bill Barr visit her client in jail. ~ B. B.

    • TJI #3Anyone besides me think the Friday Night Massacre of Berman was pre-emptive?  The FBI (who work under the DOJ) knew they were about to arrest Ghislaine and that the case was in SDNY.  SDNY knew that – so they were ready for BArr’s (denied) request.

  3. Happy Birthday, Pam. Hope you have an enjoyable one.
    Cartoon: Yes you did.
TVU: With it being a so-called holiday yesterday, no new numbers reported. Will be looking forward to tomorrow.
BFTP: Great one by Canned Heat.
Tell Wendy “Hello”. Hope you both get your chores completed.
Good luck tomorrow with your meeting in the morning.
    It’s a nice and toasty today, It’s 91 outside.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAM!!
    ‘Toon: That’s what they do.
TVU:  It was not that long ago that we were approaching 2 million.  Just trucking along, at breakneck speed, and there’s no Casey Jones to hit the brakes.
BFTP:  Hey, TC, did you see the little green MG, parked in the farm field, with the huge flowers on its side and hood?  Love that song!

  5. A belated Happy Birthday, dear Pam. I hope you had a great day.23

I hope you have a good talk with the Palliative Care Nurse and she’ll make a good help in the future.

Update: 3 million on the horizon. Something only Trump can be proud of.

BFTP: Great song, always reminds me of our family’s trip through the west-coast and canyon states in 1971.

  6. Happy B-Day Pam!

Most of agree that Birthdays should come with a cake.

But some folks here question the presence of spoons …

    To which I say:

“GEEZ!!!  You have a Birthday Party – but you don’t provide any Ice Cream!

    “That’s just lame!”

Pam – Enjoy you cake AND ice cream!

  7. THANKS, TOM!

  8. Thanks and frustrated Hugs to all! 13
