It’s a crazy day.  I’m waiting for Safeway.com to arrive, and hoped they would be here, before I publish this, but their tracking app shoes them over one hour late.  They have emailed me my receipt.  They are out of stock for $100 out of $190, including toilet paper.  I can do without a lot of the items, but it may be a shitty week, here in the CatBox.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than Personal Update.  WWWendy will be here in the morning.  Hump Day Hugs!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:59 (average 5:08).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Trump* Virus Update:

US Cases: 2,730,803

US Deaths: 130,134

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Oregonian Channel): Portland Police declare a riot on June 30, 2020

It was a riot… a police riot. They attacked demonstrators, because they were in front of the police union office protesting police violence. Sadly, policing is one of the few areas in which Oregon does NOT lead the way.  RESIST!!

From NY Times: American officials intercepted electronic data showing large financial transfers from a bank account controlled by Russia’s military intelligence agency to a Taliban-linked account, evidence that supported their conclusion that Russia covertly offered bounties for killing U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence.

Though the United States has accused Russia of providing general support to the Taliban before, analysts concluded from other intelligence that the transfers were most likely part of a bounty program that detainees described during interrogations.

Investigators also identified by name numerous Afghans in a network linked to the suspected Russian operation, the officials said — including, two of them added, a man believed to have served as an intermediary for distributing some of the funds and who is now thought to be in Russia.

The intercepts bolstered the findings gleaned from the interrogations, helping reduce an earlier disagreement among intelligence analysts and agencies over the reliability of the detainees. The disclosures further undercut White House officials’ claim that the intelligence was too uncertain to brief President Trump. In fact, the information was provided to him in his daily written brief in late February, two officials have said.

Now we have undeniable proof, both that Russia paid for the murder of US troops, and criminal Fuhrer Trump* knew about it since February, 2019. He rewarded Russia in spite of it.  Criminal Fuhrer Trump* has now fallen back to his defense of last resort. He’s calling it “fake news”.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): he Hollies – He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

Vote Blue No Matter Who Top to Bottom!!

  1. Cartoon: Uh…nope!
TVU: The numbers w/continue to go up (here), and what with the 4th right around the corner….ugh!!
    OC: Yikes! So sad!
NYT: Going by the definition of treason, dt fits the bill, imho. He should be raked over the coals for knowing, and doing nothing re: this. And! then lying about it, and colluding with the enemy, “the President of these United States. He may yell ‘Fake News’ but he’s fake. All the way through.  Makes me ill just thinking about it. My condolences to those young men who were killed in trying to defend and protect.
BFTP: Sure does bring back some good memories….

I sure hope that they come through, (Safeway). Geez, what a bummer for you. Hi, Wendy! Happy 4th! Hope that you have a good rest of your day, and take care, virtual Hugs to you,Tom.

*This just in: “It’s time we remember who we are as Americans. We treat each other with dignity and respect, we leave no on behind, and we give hate no harbor.” ~ Joe Biden ~

    6. “The words ‘Leader’ and ‘McConnell’ don’t belong in the same sentence.” ~ Christopher P. ~

    • TJI #3 – Robe, I’m not sure even Mitch McConnell could make that happen – and he won’t. Condolences to you on the loss of yorur father also.
TJI #4 – Truth serum – llike lie detectors – doesn’t work when the subject is convinced what they are saying IS the truth. Sigh.
TJI #5 – And that’s the reason that, on that level, it doesn’t matter whether he knew. Let’s not get distracted.

        • -This is a kind of long TJI — but — well, you’ll see.

“Germany was all but defeated in the spring of 1945, but thousands of Americans still lost their lives to a dedicated group of fanatical German soldiers – a mix of old men and young boys. Following the American Civil War, the South turned decisive battlefield defeat into an insurgency that lasts to this day in some form. Black Americans have paid a disproportionate price of permitting this for 150 years, and what we are experiencing today is a direct outgrowth of that failure to reinforce the Union’s victory.” — Mark Hill for AlterNet and Raw Story

  2. My grocery order was short this week too, but I did get toilet paper (of which I probably had another 4 month supply, but i like to be ahead of the game). What I was shorted on was beef. Oh, well.Might WWWendy be able to find some without going into harm’s way?

    Lincoln Project

    Beau is miffed.

This story revealing skullduggery doesn’t seem to be anywhere except at Salon and now AlterNet, and it appears to me to be imporiant.

    Cartoon – No comment.

Map – One step forward, two steps back.

Oregonian – You are far from alone. From what I can gather, no one has any control over them, except maybe the unions, which is not the control we want. Then we give them toys. Why would anyone give dangerous toys to an already out-of-control toddler?

NYT – We never had fake news until we had a fake president. Perhaps Robert Reich’s latest belongs right here.

Past – “He” may not be heavy, but the song has a heavy history.

  3. ‘Toon: Ok, those can’t be different size cock rings.
TVU: Well, it’s July, bring that convention on, the funeral home business is just waiting.
OC: And, if the police had let the protestors stay, what harm would have developed?
NYT: I do not doubt the bounty story, but just what “interrogations” is the article referring to?
    BFTP: Nice!
    Joanne’s LP: So spot-on!
BEAU:  And we know what that ghost writer has said about Dumpy, the “Pig” with “lipstick.  “Appalling” does not do it justice!  Trump needs to feel some justice, at the ballot box, and in some indictments.

  4. TVU: Awful to see our numbers are still growing. Up another 474 new cases, with 7 deaths. The Governor of California is starting to close bars, restaurants, movies theaters, indoor gyms and parking at all beaches. Our local officials stated that we will probably going that direction by the 4th since it continues rising so rapidly.
OC: Insane. Why does it have to turn violent?
NYT: There’s the proof and tRump still says it’s Fake News. How much more of his crap are they going to allow?
    BFTP: Meaningful song.
Sorry to hear that practically half of your order wasn’t coming in today. Don’t they fill in the rest of your order as they get them in? I’ve never used these store delivery services.
Hope you have a nice visit with Wendy tomorrow. Tell her “Hello” and “to have a Happy and safe 4th of July.”
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

    • Colleen, if they tried to fill in the order as it comes into stock, they’s have to pay s delivery person again every time they went out, which means you, the customer, would have to pay, and I for one would not like that at all.  Plus, there would be no time scheduled to later deliveries, that would have to be worked out.  Even with many people staying home, it would not be feasible.  No, they just don’t charge you ofor what they don’t have, and you do without or look elsewhere.

  5. I hope WWWendy can get hold of some toilet paper for you and bring it in, TomCat.

4:06 You’ve got a lot of gooping to do, it might make up for the groceries you missed out on.

Cartoon: We don’t hear much about the Kochs now that one brother is dead but that will not have stopped his brother and family from interfering in politics and running the GOP.

Update: Still going steady, I see. Up, that is.

TO: The Police in Oregon obviously has no qualms with calling the aggravation they put up against peaceful protesters a riot. In these images, the protesters couldn’t have been calmer.

NYT: No matter how much proof media come up with, no matter how much more becomes known about Trump’s despicable behaviour, Republicans won’t touch him and this will blow over just like all the other cases in which he should have been kicked out of office. It’s four long months until the elections; let’s hope more of these acts of treason turn up until then to keep it at the forefront of the news because voters have an extremely short memory.

BFTP: Great song. As a British band, the Hollies made it big for many years in Europe.
