Donald Trump* [R-Russia]

The first time I covered this story, most of you were surprised to read it.  Now it’s all over the news, so I’ll cover it again.  Not only has criminal Fuhrer Trump* known that Russia pays bounties to Afghan terrorists for killing US troops, but also Trump’s* only response had been to fight to add Russia to and invite Putin to the G7, over the objections if our allies.

American officials provided a written briefing in late February to President Trump laying out their conclusion that a Russian military intelligence unit offered and paid bounties to Taliban-linked militants to kill U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan, two officials familiar with the matter said.

The investigation into the suspected Russian covert operation to incentivize such killings has focused in part on an April 2019 car bombing that killed three Marines as one such potential attack, according to multiple officials familiar with the matter.

The new information emerged as the White House tried on Monday to play down the intelligence assessment that Russia sought to encourage and reward killings — including reiterating a claim that Mr. Trump was never briefed about the matter and portraying the conclusion as disputed and dubious.

But that stance clashed with the disclosure by two officials that the intelligence was included months ago in Mr. Trump’s President’s Daily Brief document — a compilation of the government’s latest secrets and best insights about foreign policy and national security that is prepared for him to read. One of the officials said the item appeared in Mr. Trump’s brief in late February; the other cited Feb. 27, specifically.

Moreover, a description of the intelligence assessment that the Russian unit had carried out the bounties plot was also seen as serious and solid enough to disseminate more broadly across the intelligence community in a May 4 article in the C.I.A.’s World Intelligence Review, a classified compendium commonly referred to as The Wire, two officials said… [emphasis added]

Inserted from <NY Times>

If you’re wondering why Russia is doing this, it’s an act of vengeance.  When Russia invaded Afghanistan, Republican Presidents in the 1980s supported Osama bin Laden and the Taliban with weapons and money to kill Russian troops.  So this problem, not to mention the existence of Al Qaeda and ISEL, aka the Daesh, is a gift from the Republican Reich.  Now, back to the present.

What To Know About Allegations That Russia Bribed The Taliban To Kill U.S. Troops

If you believe Kayleigh Lie-a-lot that her beloved Fuhrer was not briefed, see me about buying my bridge in NYC. However, if he ignored his Daily Brief, and his staff never brought this to his attention, that’s even worse.

  1. There’s a reason why the definition of criminal negligence includes “if [he] knew or should have known.” It’s exactly to prevent eels and weasels from slipping away unscathed after leaving a shambles of destruction behind them. Boy, Susan Rice certainly laid it on the line. (I apologize forth echo here, but many people are saying so – and they are right. Some of them are also saying “Vice President.” Our bench is so deep, I still am not settled. We are spoiled for choice.)

  2. Sick and tired of dt’s lies and shenanigans.
This news makes me ill. ugh!

  3. TRE45ON!
We do have a history of creating our very own enemies, and your explanation fits this right into that context.
I’m wondering how this might play out among his gun toting, troop supporting unwashed!

    • If anyone tells them about it, they’ll call it a lie, even if they were cheering about it when the Republican Reich was doing it. 13

  4. tRump has been bull sh*tting us from day one that he stepped into the W.H.
What gets me more frustrated, it how he continues to get away with all of it.
If these acts of treason doesn’t get him out immediately, something is definitely wrong.

    • We can’t get him out, because Senate Republicans won’t convict him in an impeachment trial.  He’s their Fuhrer! 13

  5. If this had happened three years ago, America would have been up in arms; perhaps with the GOP joining in. But after more than three years of one “treasonous” act after another, we’re all desensitized to it, sick of yet more disgustingly unpatriotic behaviour, too frustrated to believe that protesting will lead to anything.

I do hope thinking Americans have not gone under in the sea of molasses Trump and his cronies have managed to catch them in, that they keep the stupor from their door fr another four months and vote, even when they think he’s not going to leave if he loses the election.

  6. Thanks, Hump Day Hugs, and Amen to all!  🐪

  7. You mean Trump knows how to read and understand words of more than one syllable?  Trump is the Liar-in-Chief and has been since he started squatting in the WH!  The day he is taken from this earth, there will be a global celebration!
