It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  Store to Door  should be delivering groceries within the next two hours.  Sometime tomorrow morning, I have a visit here from a Providence Home Health Nurse to determine what additional care I may need.  My participation here depends on when it is and how long it takes.  Have a great day!

Today’s took me 3:42 (average 4:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Trump* Virus Update:

Cases: 2,067,355
Deaths: 115,163
Recovered: 808,556

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: Announcing that he was putting the nation on a “double-red threat level,” Donald J. Trump warned the American people on Tuesday to be on the lookout for terrorists posing as peaceful seventy-five-year-olds.

“One of these terrorists was already identified by the police in Buffalo,” Trump said. “They may be coming to your town next.”

Trump listed some “telltale signs of Antifa,” in order to help Americans identify septuagenarian terrorists in their midst.

“If the person appears to be seventy-five or older, with white hair and a peaceful demeanor, call the authorities immediately,” Trump said.

Dang, Andy! That’s straight news again!  RESIST!!

From Alternet: More than 1,250 former Department of Justice employees on Wednesday called on the department’s inspector general to open an investigation into reports that Attorney General William Barr personally ordered the tear-gassing of protesters in Washington, D.C. on June 1.

The former employees wrote that Inspector General Michael Horowitz must get to the bottom of Barr’s involvement in the dispersing of the crowd, which was part of the nationwide uprising against racial injustice following the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor…

…The Washington Post reported last week that Barr directed law enforcement officers on the ground to deploy tear gas, rubber bullets, and stun grenades at protesters just before President Donald Trump walked through the park to get to a nearby church for a photo-op.

Barrf needs more than investigation. He needs a long prison term!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Buffalo Springfield – For what it’s worth , Vietnam war

Ah… the memories.  RESIST!!

  1. Just don’t tire yourself out (I’m sure you’re smarter than that anyway.)

Well, now, this is good news.

Trae had me giggling pretty hard through this –

I asked the author of a diary by a “former good apple” his suggestion for police unions, and he replied:
There needs to be a law that union contracts cannot bargain away the public’s right to justice, that use of force cases are outside the purview of collective bargaining. That would probably induce a whole lotta dirty/violent cops to quit straight away.

Cartoon – They don’t have to come within ten feet of it to desecrate it, TBH. They desecrate it with their anti-American behavior.

    Map – Yup.

TNY – Trae responds to that in the video … though he likely hasn’t even read it yet.

AlterNet – Indeed. But you can’t get him there without doing an investigation first – sadly, he’d be a very unlikely flight risk. Maybe if enough people got mad enough, protective custody? Except there’s that darned bunker.

Past – The author of the song says it was rioting in California, not the war, that was in his mind – but I’m not sure even he had any idea how much wider application it has.

  2. Cartoon: Gawd, ain’t that the (R) truth!!
TVU: Read this morning, there are 250 (and then some) NEW cases reported in TX, since the 6 week re-opening of TX by Gov. Greg Abbott. IANAD, but personally,..I think we re-opened much too soon, imho.
NYer: Yep, straight news, Andy. So very sad. Re: dt – He’s a sorta ‘fill in the blank kinda guy’.
AN: I believe every word of this, and it makes me ill thinking about this event, and yes, he needs to go to jail, like last year. Barr is a mean, ground grubber sycophant for whatever dt wants, Barr delivers. ugh!

I hope you get ALL your groceries delivered today. Glad to read that you are getting a nurse visit, that way you can discuss all your medical and home health assistance that you need. Hope that goes well too. Have a good rest of your day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “It’s sad to see the tall black fence going up around the WH, turning the ‘People’s House’ into an outpost as dark as the psyche of the man who lives within.” ~ Maureen Dowd ~
    2. “I was wrong to take part in Trump’s church photo op. As a commissioned uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from.” ~ General Mark Milley ~
    3. “Disney, Papa John’s Pizza, T-Mobile, and Smile Direct Club, Vari, have all decided to stop advertising w/Fox News (host T. Carlson) after his abusive BLM attacks.” ~ Rob T. ~
    4. “A man who is totally incapable of governing, should stay out of Washington ‘state business’. “Stoop” tweeting. ~ Gov. Jay Inslee ~
    5. “Madame Mayor of Seattle, Jenny Durham, told dt to ‘go back to your bunker’, after he tells he ‘to take back city from protesters.” ~ Jenny Durham ~

    • +TJI #1 – and Maureen Dowd does not have a consistent track record of being on the right side of history. Coming from her, this is powerful.
TJI #3 – Three of those I can see … but when you’ve lost PapaJohn, you’ve lost more than you thought you had.

  3. Some Trumpkin spied on Antifa and grabbed a shot of its Planning Committee:

  4. Cartoon: They exhibit that trait each time the R’s speak.
    TVU: Still growing. Scary.
TNY: Shameful… tRump and hia dumba*s actions. I’m curious? What color tRump’s hair really was if he didn’t dye it orange?
AN: I have been signing all the petitions to prosecute bArf for what he did. Hopefully he will be.
    BFTP: Great tune.
Hope your grocery delivery was on time. Good luck with your visit tomorrow with the Home Health Nurse.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. Wonderful to hear that a Providence Home Health Nurse is coming in to discuss any more help you need in the future. I know you dislike to hear it but there will come a time when you need more nursing care than WWWendy can give you and someone to look in on you on WWWendy’s days of. Take all the time you need, TomCat. Your wellbeing comes first.

2:31 Sorry, I couldn’t let you goop such a cutie.

Cartoon: And now Trump is hugging/humping it every chance he gets.

Update: I gather you may be in for a second wave soon.

TNY: “Peaceful seventy-five-year olds”; no chance of mistaking Trump for a terrorist then, is there? Makes me wonder, Andy, how long it’ll be before some of us here at PP will be marked as Antifa terrorists.

Alternet: “1,250 former Department of Justice employees”? Barrf must have cleaned out the DoJ well when he came in. Is anybody still working there who’s been in the job before 2016? Anyway, Inspector General Michael Horowitz won’t act on their request. He doesn’t want to be former Department of Justice employee number 1251.

BFTP: Too many memories today with this all-time great.

  6. The AP reviewed arrest records and found zero pointing to antifa involvement.  Also, the 75 yr. old’s history as a lifelong peace activist is inconsistent with antifa’s pro-gun and other stances.
Joanne–The FBI reportedly ordered hospital staff to stop Billie Holliday from singing her hallmark song on her deathbed, and apparently she still prevailed.

  7. Wonder how the comment I left on other post landed in this one, too…
I am with Lona on glad you are getting the evaluation in advance of the need so you can be without a gap in the care that you need this time.  I’ve moved to more frozen foods to ensure sufficiency of fruits and vegetables, etc. with grocery store gaps these days–Schwan’s is available in much of the country (and expanding into new areas)–and it allows me to eat in keeping with up and down temperatures without having to throw any away. The person who suggested them to me reminded me that frozen fruit is wonderful for smoothies helping on hot days or when tummy not so wonderful.

  8. Thanks, Hurry Hugs, and TGIF to all! 26
