Here is the one hundred seventy-fourth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s winners are four unnamed Minneapolis police officers. They are so honored for murdering yet another unarmed black man, who begged for mercy as one killed him and the rest watched.

0527george-floydANOTHER DAY in the United States, another unarmed black man dead following unwarranted, insupportable, outrageous police violence. When will it end?

In Minneapolis on Monday evening, a white officer bore down with his knee on the neck of a handcuffed black man who lay sprawled on the street, rasping, “I cannot breathe” and “Don’t kill me.” The man died a short time after.

The suspect, George Floyd, was in his 40s. He was arrested when officers responded to what they called a suspected “forgery in progress.” They said the man appeared to be intoxicated and that he resisted arrest, though no evidence has been presented for either assertion.

There is plain evidence of what came next, however, from a video recorded by someone in a group of witnesses who stood a few feet away. In it, the white officer appears impassive, almost bored, as the suspect gasps for breath. He is unmoved as witnesses curse and plead with him to get off the suspect’s neck, as they warn that the man’s nose is bleeding, that he can’t breathe, that he isn’t resisting. Nor does the officer relent when an ambulance medic arrives and checks the man’s neck for a pulse…  [emphasis added]

Here are two video clips reporting on the incident.

Now, you might ask, how do I know they are Republicans? If they act like Republicans, hate like Republicans, and kill like Republicans, they are Republicans, no matter the party to which they belong.  I’d worry that criminal Fuhrer Trump would pardon them, but it will never come to that.  Guess who is in charge of the investigation?  It’s Barrf!  Should their names and addresses should be posted online?  Sadly, that’s too Republican to do.

  1. omg….horrifyingly, and disturbingly sad and absolutely horrible.
“I can’t breathe!” How inhumane, and sick, of this policeman to kill him.
5 minutes….! and he died. Such blatant cruelty that Mr. Floyd received before he passed.

Sadly, we treat our pets (animals) better than the treatment that this man (and others) have received.

  2. It’s our country’s inner cancer!  And trump will declare that some of these officers are “Good people,” while Barr will wonder why the cops did not call him to join, being the good Christian he is.

    • Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten is NOT a Christian!  He’s a Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian: the exact opposite of a real authentic Christian. 10

  3. I was furious when I seen this on the news yesterday.
George Floyd didn’t threaten these 4 bas*ards and yet the one continued kneeling on his throat, suffocating him as he was saying he couldn’t breathe.
I’m happy that these “bad apples” were fired and that the FBI and other agencies are looking into prosecuting them for their actions.
Plus I hope that the NY and other states police departments review these actions and start retraining or what ever it takes to stop these type of senseless deaths.

  4. All four of them, the actual killer and the other three on the scene, have been fired.  But that’s hardly even a Band-Aid.  TC, I can prove the actual killer is a Republican – there’s film (well, a photo) of him at a social event with a MAGA cap.

    This is circulating:

St. Anthony, Minnesota, where the officer was employed who shot Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, is a suburb of Minneapolis (northeast of it.)

Pat, these murderers all believe that people of color ARE animals – unless tey believe people of color are lower than animals.I truly find this nauseating.

CoVid is not the only pandemic disease the United States needs to reckon with.  The sooner, the better.

  5. If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, it ain’t no cockatiel.

  6. There’s a program on the AussieBC called Planet America – yes, the US has been residing on its own planet since Trump came into the picture, as far as Oz is concerned – and yesterday it showed the same footage including the mayor’s response. And Mr Floyd’s brutal death at the hands of the police made headlines everywhere else too: George Floyd’s death shows the power of social media as the US continues to grapple with racial tensions.

The Australian analysis doesn’t speak of Republican cops, of course, but does delve into the tensions between black and white in America. Divided, politicised and partisan everything is in America today, you might just as well speak of Republican cops, TomCat, even on the off-chance they’re not Trumpians. This disdain for a black man’s life is Republican to the core.

  7. Maya Wiley: “It is not enough to have justice used as a sword against people of colour, it must also be a shield.”

    AMEN!!!

It would be great if the FBI decided to recommend charges against the 4 officers but Barrf would not sanction that.

There are a lot of good officers in the US, but as we know, a few bad apples can ruin the whole barrel of apples.  Unfortunately, the racism displayed starts at the top as Trump rants about different races and ethnicities.  But it has been going on for decades upon decades upon decades an then some.  It is systemic.  I remember all too well the racism my mother’s father displayed when I was about 12.  He lived in Buffalo, NY and after one particular incident, I refused to talk to him ever again.

  8. Thanks and hugs to all! 24
