It’s a super-tired day here in the CatBox.  I have no idea why, but, after sleeping just a couple hours last night, I woke up and could not fall asleep again.  Tonight is a WWWendy night.  After de-stinking the rancid TomCat, we’ll be gooping.  Happy Hump Day to all.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:16 (average 4:48).  To do it, click here.  Hoe did you do?

Cartoon:

I made this cartoon eight years ago.  Republicans are still at it, but worse.

Trump* Virus Update:

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Raw Story Channel): Kamala Harris grills DNI nominee John Ratcliffe on Trump’s COVID-19 response [emphasis added]

That lying, goose-stepping, Republican Nazi Sycophant needs to change his name. As it stands, it’s an insult to Rats.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (Daily Kos Channel): Essential Workers Deserve a Bill of Rights

While I fully agree that essential workers are heroes that need and deserve a Bill of Rights, I would take it one step further and cover ALL workers with a Bill of Rights!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Wooden ShipsCrosby Stills Nash and Young

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

Vote Blue No Matter Who Top to Bottom!!

  1. Best to you and WWWendy in getting those chores done, and I hope you can get some rest. Being unable to sleep when one needs to the most happens to me too – not all the time, but often enough to attempt precautios against (with mixed results.)

    A new video by Reich

    A self-explanatory tweet:

Link to cartoon relating to quarantine protester

Cartoon – Yes, well, they always are. And the number of people who don’t see it is scary.

Map – That looks about right. I’m staying home.

Ratcliffe – No kidding. But this is why Kamala Harris is a win-win. Whatever position she fills, she will make shine. As for him, what a derp.

Essential – Of course you are right. Sponsors of this legislation may be gambling on the visibility of and obvious need for protecting these workers to get the camel’s nose into the tent. Or they may not have thought of that, but it could still function that way.

Past – Another group I know but not their whole body of work.

    • Thanks for the Reich video, JD. He’s right, as always. Members of that round-table conference were laughing all the way down the bank when the made those “promises”. COVID-19 has given us the opportunity to rethink and restart a new economy, but will that ever happen? 0121

  2. Cartoon: Yep, they sure are!! Every day!
TVU: We have jumped/increased 10% with 9 new covid cases, making our county count @98. Not good at all.
RS: Watched this liar lying with questioning from Ms. Harris. Boy..she’s good.
DK/YT: I got choked up watching this…so very, very sad. Our workers deserve the very best, and then some!! x’s 1000.
    BFTP: Good song.

Hi, Wendy!!! Hope you’re doing good, and get your rest. Hope that you have a good evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: Picture of dt hugging the American flag: “I don’t always fake it when I show my love for America. But when I do, I squeeze her…to death.” ~ Michael L. ~
    2. “The first reporter to simply stand up and ask Trump, ‘What is the ‘H or F’ is wrong with you??!’ should receive a Pulitzer Prize right on the spot.” ~ Aaron S. ~
    3. “Loyalty to dt means nothing! Just ask Michael Cohen.” ~ Al L. ~
    4. “Obama is everything that dt is not. Intelligent, articulate, compassionate, and physically fit. Trump is reminded of him frequently.. and it haunts him. ~ Vicki L. ~

  3. ‘Toon: Yup!
TVU: This will get worse, as we open the country for Donny!
    Kamila rocks!
Wooden Ships:  Read the title, and heard the words before I plugged in!
    RE:Pat’s #4-  https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/5/5/1942770/-Hip-hip-hooray-The-Obamas-will-hold-virtual-commencement-ceremony-for-graduating-seniors-nationwide?detail=emaildkre
Here’s smiling at all of you!

    • I saw that, and I’m just tickled pink!! (and blue) !
Such a wonderful action to take by the Obamas, I love it!
Thanks, Mitch for the link, appreciate it.

  4. Cartoon: Yes they are always dropping bombs on us.
TVU: Awful to see it continue to climb. Deaths are up to 73,000 in the U.S. this afternoon.
YT: You go Kamala Harris. I’m proud of her standing up for the people.
I agree that Essential workers do deserve it….Most derfinitely.
BFTP: CSNY was one of my favorite groups. Still love hearing their songs.
Hope you and Wendy have a good visit. Tell her “Hello”.
I can relate to your sleep pattern. I tend to wake up early hours and have problems falling back to sleep.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. I hope it’s not thoughts about your predicament that keep you awake, TomCat, though it would be natural to do so. It’s your body that is exhausted and in need of rest, not your mind so much.

2:57 Too much practice with this one.

Cartoon: They’re fiddling while America burns.

Update: Still going steady. The virus, that is.

RS: Kamela Harris put the thumbscrews on John Ratcliffe and he squirmed like the rat he is. He tried to get out of her grip by implying that Congress or any intelligence committee would get “the whole truth” while he fed Trump with what Trump wanted to hear. Even for a rat that’s quite a feat.

DK: Of course essential workers should have a Bill of Rights and the House may be working on one right now. But we can rest assured that it’ll end up on the enormous pile of bills Mitch McConnell will not let pass for a vote. By the time Mitch is voted out of office, the pandemic might be under control (we hope).

BFTP: Great song I’m not very familiar with. I know their album Déjà Vu by heart but I never got around to buying the first Crosby, Stills & Nash album which features this Wooden Ships (not with Neil Young but Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane).

    This just in:

Americans have spent some two billion dollars (around 1.85 billion euros) more on shop-bought alcohol since the start of March, than in 2019 combined. Sales of spirits, including tequila and gin, leapt 39 percent to 1.3 billion dollars and wine by 28 percent to two billion dollars. Beer saw a 20 percent increase to 5.5 billion dollars. EURONEWS

  6. Thanks and pained hugs to all.  WWWendy returns all greetings! 35
