The Fuhrer’s Vengeance

Government employees need to beware, and the more they care about doing their jobs, the more they need to watch out.  That’s because anyone that says or does anything that criminal Fuhrer Trump* doesn’t like is a sure target for the Fuhrer’s vengeance.  Here are two examples.

Sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier cheered for Capt. Brett Crozier as he disembarked the ship for the last time, an overwhelming show of support for their leader who was relieved of his command after issuing a stark warning about a coronavirus outbreak onboard.

New video obtained by CNN shows a large crowd gathered to give Crozier a warm and loud send off, clapping and chanting his name as he left the ship. It was a clear expression of appreciation for their former commander who was removed for what the acting Navy Secretary called “poor judgment.”

“Today at my direction the commanding officer of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, Captain Brett Crozier, was relieved of command by carrier strike group commander Rear Admiral Stewart Baker,” acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly announced on Thursday.

The decision came days after Crozier wrote a memo warning Navy leadership that decisive action was needed to save the lives of the ship’s crew. “We are not at war. Sailors do not need to die. If we do not act now, we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted asset — our Sailors,” it read, three US defense officials confirmed to CNN…

Kudos to Brett Crozier for his extraordinary good judgement in saving his crew. He embarrassed criminal Fuhrer Trump*. Vengeances is Republican SOP.

Donald Trump has fired the inspector general for the intelligence community who handled the whistleblower complaint that led to his impeachment, prompting fierce criticism from Democrats.

The US president chose a Friday night, with America consumed by the coronavirus pandemic, to tell the House of Representatives and Senate intelligence committees of his decision to dismiss Michael Atkinson.

In a letter, Trump claimed it was “vital” that he had confidence in the appointees serving as inspectors general, and “that is no longer the case with regard to this inspector general”.

The president would nominate an individual who has his full confidence at a later date, he added.

There was swift condemnation from Democrats. Chuck Schumer, the minority leader in the Senate, said: “President Trump fires people for telling the truth…  [emphasis added]

  1. I am not going to argue that this is trivial.  It isn’t.  It is terrible.  But I might also point out that is has already come to the point where sane people are knowledgeable to honor those whom *Trump has scorned, BECAUSE *Trump has scorned them.  In fact, you hardly need to know anything else but that *Trump scorned them to know that they are honorable people,

Wonkette, which certainly accepts donations, also has merch for sale, One product they have (or had – I had so much trouble finding a picture that they may have sold out) is a set of ceramic shot glasses with images (icons) of American saints – specifically Saint Alex, Saint Masha, Saint Fiona, and Saint David (personally, I think the iconography is a nice subtle, needling touch.)

Truly, if we can only get through this, all these people are going to be seen for the heroes they are.  I’d love to see a new civilian (although he himself is military) award established and named for Alexander Vindman.  But we have to get through it first.

  2. USS Theodore Roosevelt: This incident just took my breath away re: Captain Crozier. He gets relieved of his command because he was worried about the health, safety, and saving ‘his’ sailors LIVES from the COVID19 while aboard the CVN?
I’m very, very, very disappointed that acting SoN Modly did not stand up to dt for this CO. Capt. got a rousing wave of applause of approximately 5000 sailors…when he tended the side on his own, in the dead of night and with a departing wave. Kudos to him, and to his crew. (Should have never happened..!)

Why should dt fire IG Atkinson for claiming it was “vital” that he had confidence in the appointees serving as inspectors general? I have ‘NO confidence’ in this president, so it’s vital to me. Can I fire HIM? (snark).

  3. Let us hope that tRump pisses off enough registered voters so they are motivated to vote his ass out of the Oval Office! This country cannot survive four more years of his incompetence.

  4. Captain Crozier did so much for his country and his troops on the USS Theodore Roosevelt.
I was angry when I heard the news the other day that he was relieved from his duty/job.
He certainly didn’t deserve that type of treatment.
I feel that something should be done to have him reinstated or whatever they do for the military.
We’ve seen tRump dump people before and will continue. I just wish we could dump the bas*ard, tRump.
We much fight hard to get his voted out of office. If we don’t we are all in deep sh*t.
    Thanks TomCat

  5. Firing Michael Atkinson will only upset Democrats, but Trump may have made a huge mistake by having the military relieve Brett Crozier of his command. The video of the sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier cheering for their hero as he left his ship has gone viral and I’ve seen it on different news bulletins across the world.

Firing Michael Atkinson annoyed Democrats but relieving Brett Crozier of his command while failing to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak annoys Republican voters.
