It’s a quiet, lazy day here at the CatBox.  All yesterday’s groceries are stashed, and except for PP and investing in ZZZZZs, my only appointment today is a visit from Providence Home Medical Equipment to pick up their O2 concentrator between 10 AM and 1 PM.  TGIF!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:11 (average 4:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Crooks and Liars: Don’t make light of Nancy Pelosi’s constitutional duties.

A reporter, Sinclair’s James Rosen, decided to shout a question to the House Speaker as she ended her Thursday press conference and announcement that the House will draw up articles of impeachment against Donald Trump.

He asked Nancy Pelosi if she hates the president.

Colleen alluded to this yesterday. Was it a thing of beauty, or what? RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Pete Buttigieg And The Republican Lie

I suspect Pete is lying to help him against more progressive candidates. That takes him down a notch in my estimation. The proof of the matter is in the following chart. He needs to be prepared to support the winner if the Democratic nomination no matter who it is, as do we all.

RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Lyrics~Stand By Me-Ben E. King

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: Amen!
    C&L: Love this lady. “Don’t mess with me..” Oh!Madam Speaker…SNAP !!
MSNBC: Good video by Lawrence explaining Pete’s inaccuracy…I haven’t been keeping up with Pete, but this is good to know about him. oops!
BFTP: Loved this one! Another all time favorites by him, “I, Who Have Nothing” and “Spanish Harlem”. Grew up to this music. Great memories.

I sure hope that you’re feeling better. Sounds like you will get a chance to R&R today, so that’s good. Take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

Prayers for those shot/killed at two Naval bases recently…@NAS Pensacola, FL, and USNS, Pearl Harbor.

    2. re: Jim Jordan – “I need to know what goes on behind closed doors – unless it’s a locker room.” ~ Anon ~
    3. “Instructions for how to come attacking for me: 1. “Don’t!” ~ Nancy Pelosi ~
    4. “The longer Nancy smacks dt with solid evidence of his wrong doings, the more she sets him off. She plays the dummy like a fine fiddle.” ~ John P. ~

  2. 4:55 and lucky at that.

Sojourners has a new article up called “Impeaching King Herod” which gets in some great digs … and provides some food for thought also. And, since great minds fall in the same ditch, here’s a link to a cartoon which illustrates the article perfectly.

Cartoon – Pity that Lincoln did not live to see that.

Speaker – And he later said on air that he doesn’t believe her. Well, of course not. Any of today’s Republicans who have grown far enough past their amygdala to even grasp the concept of loving the person while hating the actions have left the party. And I’m not sure even they can grasp th concept of “love” and “hate” not being emotions but rather active decisions. Personally, I’ll bet she prays daily for Orange Judas – for him to be granted wsdom, courage, and compassion. (Unfortunately, God is not just replying “No,” but something more like “Are you f’n kidding me?”

Mayor – The leader of his local BLM issued a statement, yesterday I think, concerning some disruption at one of his rallies. Some residents of color – and apparently some not of color but in poverty – are not happy with him.

Past – We could all take the allegory to heart right about now.

  3. Pelosi: She gave him  just what I’d hoped for, yesterday, after reding Coleen’s comment, and then some.
MSNBC: Politics can do strange things to people!
Ben E. King: I will stand by whomever gets the Dem’s nomination!

  4. This just in, literally:  The house has passed HR4, aimed at restoring the Voting Rights Act, of 1965.  Now, of course, it goes to the Senate, and McConman!

  5. Good to hear you had a lazy day for once, TomCat. Make sure you allow yourself enough of these.

2:52 Postal services seem to be down in Ireland too.

Cartoon: The amendment a civil war was fought over.

C&L: Excellent retort, that reporter will not ask such stupid, low at-Trump-level questions of her again. I do long for the time, though, in which anyone can state they don’t hate without having to refer to their religious convictions to be believed. With all the hatred sprouting in and from Republican Talibangelists, religion clearly not always safeguards against hatred.

MSNBC: Big mistake, Pete Buttigieg. Never try to conquer the middle ground for yourself by adopting the lies of your enemies. You have marked yourself as a DINO now.

BFTP: Stand by a (true) Democrat.

  6. Cartoon: I also say AMEN to it.
C&L: Nancy responded very well to the reporters question. She was doing her job of announcing that they were going to proceed with the next stage of impeachment against tRump. Why would this reporter ask her such an off the wall question? He should be asking tRump if he hates our country for all of the illegal and negative things he has done to our country ever since he has stepped into the W.H.
MSNBC: Not good at all for Pete. Start with one lie, tends to lend to another. Even worse, it catches up to you.
    BFTP: Great song. Wise words.
Hope they came and picked up the unit on time today. Plus that you got some rest too.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  7. Thanks and Weekend Hugs to all! 29

  8. And Mitch, one lone GOP vote joined DEMs on that vote–I give him kudos for that.Lots of evidence that following the biblical command to pray for enemies and those who seek to harm you negates feeling angry at them, et al, so you can do the separation Joanne describes so well.I lost all respect for Pete when he took corporate health industry donations and began spewing GOP/industry talking points on Medicare for all.  I’ve wondered whether the deficit response on education spending is similarly attributable to a corporate donation…and then there is the apparently notorious firm he worked for:https://www.cbsnews.com/news/immigration-rights-groups-call-on-buttigieg-to-return-mckinsey-related-donations/
