As I write, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who listened to Trump’s infamous Ukraine call, is testifying before House impeachment investigators, I wish I could be a fly on that wall!
After Bill Taylor testified last week to multiple corrupt quid pro quos between the Trump team and Ukraine, President Trump attacked him as a “Never Trumper.” He did so despite the fact that Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, was selected for his job just a few months ago by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Good luck trying to pull that with the latest big witness.
Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman will become the latest official Tuesday to testify to a corrupt quid pro quo. And he might be the most significant to date, given his profile and his proximity to some of the key events.
According to his prepared testimony, Vindman will say that European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland said after a July 10 meeting with a top Ukrainian official that a long-sought meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump depended upon Ukraine launching specific investigations — those involving former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as well as a conspiracy theory about the origins of the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election…

They are not painting as a “Never Trumper.” They are painting him as a Russian spy (presumably from the age of three and a half?)
His full opening statement was posted by Politico as a PDF. It’s a lot shorter that Taylor’s – six pages.
The Dumpster, and his followers will paint him many colors before this is all done. I agree that his color is called “Patriot!”

Every non-Republican having his say on Alexander Vindman and his testimony is putting out a pre-emptive defence of him as a patriot and incorruptible man, which he undoubtedly is, who can’t possibly be attacked and torn to shreds as anything but that by Trump and his ghouls. They also know that their defence hardly matters; tear him to pieces they will and his career will be cut short, no matter who’s running the country next.
Kudos to Alexander Vindman, Bill Taylor and all the others who have the courage to testify against the Trump clan despite the personal cost.
I agree with everyone that Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman is a Patriot.
It makes me angry to hear that tRump and his cronies are trying to belittle him.
Every negative word out of tRump’s mouth; name calling. hatred, is actually tRump speaking of himself.
Same goes for what tRump accuses others of doing illegally, is what he actually does.
He diffidently needs to be taken out of office.
It isn’t a question of how many nails we have for tRump’s coffin – it’s a question of how many Republican Senators will get their heads out of their arses and support impeachment. If nothing else, the Orange Oaf may be a political dead duck (a l’orange) and get his butt whipped in 2020.
My guess, based on Trump’s actions to date, he will try to paint Vindman as a Russian sleeper agent or something along that line. And then this came up: the Trump circus continues.
And in response to Trump referring to “Never Trumpers” as scum, it takes scum to recognise scum. Therefore, Trump is scum! Actually, I would say that Trump is lower than scum!
Oh, I don’t know. I think I know scum when I see it … and “Never Trumpers” ain’t it (and I ain’t either.)
I don’t think “never Trumpers” are scum either. My point is that it takes scum to recognise scum (from Trump’s point of view). He is the ‘scummyist’!
