I’ll barely have time to start this, before L leave for the doctor, so I’ll finish when I return.

I’m back.  The appointment was a surprise.  Megan prescribed me Prilosec, as I am  one of the people for whom severe depression is a side effect of Tagamet.  She did an EKG.  It was unchanged.  She referred me to a cardiologist for possible stress test and/or echocardiogram.

Today’s took me 3:20 (average 4:38).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

My Broncos stunk so bad that I thank the blessed Orb that the score was not worse.

  1. 4:36 I’m not copeting with you on coffee. There is a national coffee something day sometime this week, though.

    Cartoon – Because of course.

It is indeed the first day of Autumn, and I already have my space heater on. Brrrr. I’m NOT ready.

Apparently the cheese in question last night was Limburger. Sorry.

  2. Cartoon: They’d love that….Sad, sad!!
I forgot that today was the 1st day of Fall.
Sorry about your guys, hubs is a Packer’s fan, he’s from WI….
we beat the Chargers, 27-20. Good game.
Oh, wow! Joanne! We are @97 here, while you’re freezing. ugh!

    • TC: Glad that they are changing your meds, so that you feel better all the way around.
Also, for referring you to a cardiologist, for follow-up.  Glad that you got there, and back okay too.
      Take care, Tom.

  3. Oh,bless you Tom Cat I am glad that they are taking care of you though, the health Care people and your WW WendyπŸ˜—πŸ€—

  4. I have GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease) & a hiatal hernia, and have been on omeprazole for a couple of years.  I’ve had very good luck w/ it.

It’s available OTC, but I suspect your Part D will cover the Rx.

(I take it the cardiology evaluation is something new, correct?  I don’t remember you mentioning a cardiac eval before.)

    • Thanks.  I’ll keep that in mind if the Prilosec doesn’t work.

I had a stress test and an echocardiogram in 2012.  I have a mild arrhythmia and mild tachycardia, but the heart muscle was fine. 04

      • I’ve used it OTC with excellent results.  I will point out that (since I use generic OTC when I can) the generic doesn’t work as ell for me as the brand.  When that happens, it’s generally something diffrent in the inactive ingresiets.  But then I have multiple weird allergies.  You would probably be fine with either.

      • Just to clarify and avoid any confusion down the road, Prilosec IS omeprazole.

I have a tendency to use generic names for meds (omeprazole) rather than brand names (Prilosec).

Back when I was practicing, it made substitution for cheaper meds a lot easier.

        • Aha!  Thanks!  O checked the bottle and the Pharmacist substituted the generic.  I get 20 mg. twice daily.  It hasn’t helped yet, but I suspect it takes a few days. πŸ’Š

  5. And still they persisted.

Sorry about the Broncs. Hope the rest of Autumn goes better for you.

  6. Cartoon: Not good at all.
Autumn: Beautiful photo. They are already talking about rain here, mid and later this week.
Sorry your Broncos didn’t do so well.
Sure hope you get to feeling better TomCat. I’ve gotten to where I have stopped taking medications, due to side effects. I tend to fall in the “rare side effects” category of any medications I take.
Glad Megan referred you to see the cardiologist.
    Take care, TC

  7. Slightly confused by your report on your doctor’s appointment, TomCat. I thought it was for your heartburn caused by your hiatial hernia, but Megan did an EKG and is sending you on to a cardiologist for a further cardiac examination. Did she think the heartburn-symptoms were caused by heart problems? Anyway, she gave you something to combat your heartburn, so that’s one worry less.

3:19 All that effort for a pewter pot.

Cartoon: Now the GOP wants to dispell black student, Muslim students, Hispanic students, left-wing activist students, LGBT-students…

One thing I’m going to miss is those splendid fall colours. Here it’s the start of spring, but as yet everything is dusty brown because of the continuing drought.

  8. Lona, sometimes severe heartburn is an early sign of congestive heart failure, and she doesn’t think it is, but mants to make sure it isn’t. 35

  9. Thanks and pooped hugs to all. 19
