Bigotry of a Mental Defective

Please consider this hypothetical situation.  When I was in the hospital Tuesday for my Cat Scan, I could have insisted that I am the King of Israel and that I am God’s Chosen One.  I didn’t.  How do you know?  If I had, they would have thrown a net over over me and tossed me behind a locked door.  Well, that’s exactly what Resident Donald Trump, Fuhrer of the Republican Reich did, while demeaning Jews by repeating anti-Semitic claims from racist and conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root.

President Trump on Wednesday tweeted a fawning quote from a non-Jewish conservative radio host who described Trump as the “King of Israel” and who said, without evidence, that Israeli Jews “love him like he is the second coming of God.”

Trump’s tweets cited Wayne Allyn Root, who described himself in a 2016 Townhall column as a “Jew turned evangelical Christian” and has promoted several conspiracy theories in the past, including that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and that he is gay.

“The Jewish people in Israel love him like he’s the King of Israel,” Trump quoted Root as saying. “They love him like he is the second coming of God…But American Jews don’t know him or like him. They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore.”…

…Trump’s tweets made “King of Israel” the leading trending topic of the day on Twitter, generating many baffled and outraged responses. Later Wednesday, Trump saidI am the chosen one” to fix the U.S. trade imbalance with China, as he looked to the sky.  [emphasis added]

MSNBC shared a couple videos on this.  The first focuses on Trumps bigotry, and the second, on his lack of sanity.

Psychiatrist On ‘The Essential Emptiness Of President Donald Trump’

On the subject of gun control, Trump keeps claiming that the problem is taking guns from mentally ill people.  While universal background checks will help a lot more, I do agree that mentally ill people, who act it out as hatred or violence, should not have access to firearms.  Assuming that is true, how much more true is it that such people should not have access to nuclear footballs?

  1. Why King of Israel when he will be the King of Thule
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxmEv-6evOk
But like Covfefe he could not spell the new name Qaanaaq
Greenland enough to a golf player?

  2. What a yesterday that was!!
My breath was taken away by his comments (dt’s), with him being so out of it, and being malicious, threatening, with his downright bigotry, and his antisemitism on full display!! A king, a god, a Chosen One.  He knows (in the present) of what he’s doing/saying in trying to divide us, and spreading his hate. Such hurtful words and behavior coming from this ID !!
Ianad….but I certainly agree with the psychiatrist with his analysis of dt’s conduct, language, and his behavior.
I’m saddened by this man’s hateful conduct/words and showing to the world, who he really is. (we’ve known since day 1…)

  3. The ADL has a blind spot or two, but it would be difficult for them to have gotten this wrong.

However, apparently I am less shocked than most people, including most people here. The premise of Trump being “the chosen one” was on the table from the very first time he said “I alone can fix it.” It’s been in the air unspoken for four years. Now it’s spoken, nothing has changed.

The problem is not that Donald Trump is Looney Tunes. The problem is that up to 38% of the people in America WANT a Looney Tunes President – for whatever reason or reasons. Donald Trump could drop dead tomorrow, and we would still be stuck with the real problem.

  4. It’s called Antisocial personality disorder. He IS a raving lunatic. He has gotten worse. He will never get better. He’s not capable of it, he’s not capable of actual self reflection. I don’t like the idea of the 25th amendment being used because that gives us Pence, for a while, but this man is seriously deranged. He isn’t mentally fit to lead anything but his own perp walk.
This dual loyalty idea came up when I was very young, it stuck with me because even then in our little two room country school, I was the sole supporter of John Kennedy in our “mock” election at age 11. The accusation then was as the country had never elected a catholic that he would be taking his directions from the Pope. He was abundantly clear, and persuasive in the debates, that he was an American first. Now, here we have Trump saying that Jewish Americans owe their first allegiance to Israel not the United States. And the way they show that is by voting republican as if only the republican party cared about the Israeli people.
I care about Israel as a nation but I can’t defend many of their policies, or at least Netanyahu’s policies. I do believe there has to be a two state solution and I believe that can happen but requires the other Arab nations to help establish it by ceding some territory to it. They won’t, that has been in their power all along and they will not do it. But Israel alone bears the brunt of the world’s anger for the current situation. Or rather the situation that has existed since the state of Israel was formed. Herman Wouk’s two books, The Hope and The Glory, paint as historically accurate a picture of that region right through the six days war. But since then, nothing has been exchanged but vitriol and hatred.
America’s salvation comes not at accepting Trump as the “chosen one” but getting that maniac out of office and into a courtroom and evicting as many of his acolytes as possible as fast as possible. I think the planet’s future depends on that too. Along with a few other things.

    • Are you sure it isn’t Schizoaffective personality disorder? 08

The symptoms of schizoaffective disorder can be severe and need to be monitored closely. Depending on the type of mood disorder diagnosed, depression or bipolar disorder, people will experience different symptoms:

Hallucinations, which are seeing or hearing things that aren’t there.
Delusions, which are false, fixed beliefs that are held regardless of contradictory evidence.
Disorganized thinking. A person may switch very quickly from one topic to another or provide answers that are completely unrelated.
Depressed mood. If a person has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder depressive type they will experience feelings of sadness, emptiness, feelings of worthlessness or other symptoms of depression.
Manic behavior. If a person has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder: bipolar type they will experience feelings of euphoria, racing thoughts, increased risky behavior and other symptoms of mania.

  5. I’m a bit confused about the logic of this phrasing:

“The Jewish people in Israel love him like he’s the King of Israel,” Trump quoted Root as saying. “They love him like he is the second coming of God

    [Emphasis added]

Seems to me that if Jews “love him like he is the second coming of God” – that means they would have believed in the first coming (Jesus) and therefore aren’t Jews at all … but Christians.

    • Nameless, you’re spot on. Most religious Jews (not all Jews are religious, not even in Israel, and follow various doctrines as do Christians) are still waiting on the (first) coming of the Messiah.

    • The original author trump is quoting is a former Jew, wou converted to Republican pseudo-Christianity.  He’s painting his own belief onto Jews. 11

  6. I read a piece by a traveling evangelist decrying this sacrilege and disturbed by the silence from other evangelicals…silence is indeed the enemy

  7. JL’s point is so spot on!
So, for how long have you all known me to call him “The Empty Orange”? What he suffers from, and the country, if not the world is suffering from, is “Malignant Narcissism!”  Gene is right, in that he will not change. He has no capacity to change, no motivation to change, since the problems are always within other people.  To change one must have both insight to one’s problems, acknowledge that there are problems with one’s perspective, or behavior, at least, interfering with one’s life, which is where the motivation to change comes from, as in wanting a healthier, more effective life.  In future mental health training and textbooks, he will be the poster boy for personality disorder!  He is, indeed, a total lunatic!
I do not watch the news, I do not want to see the latest blatant idiocy spill from his mouth.  I expect nothing but the dumbest crap, dumber, and dumber as time goes on.  HE HAS NO BOTTOM!  A bottom would define an end to an emptiness, a boundary to it, he has none.

  8. What planet was tRump on yesterday?? He seems to be speaking like he’s ready to be sent into the crazy farm for sure.
Again changing his tune about gun control. He makes all of these fake promises to victims, ones who have lost family members/friends, etc. Sending them prayers and thoughts??? Then days later, it’s back to old heartless tRump doing nothing. All full of lies.
He’s the one who is mentally ill  and Unable to lead a country.
Instead, he’s destroying our country. Tearing innocent family members apart.
Insulting people of various races and now bringing religion into his nasty game of insults too.
Hearing him say he is the “Chosen One” makes me laugh my head off.
He needs to be removed from his post, hopefully soon.

  9. Kim Jong-un described it to a Tee by calling Trump “the mentally deranged U.S. dotard”. Trump is mentally deranged in that he displays all the characteristics of Malignant Narcissism and his increasing dementia makes it all worse. I wouldn’t go so far as to say he suffers from both, only because he doesn’t do the suffering. We do.

And JD is right: 38% of Americans like him because of his Malignant Narcissism and dementia, which indeed is, and will remain, the greater problem; unless Trump’s mental instability comes to a head and he does start a war, possibly an atomic one at that, just to show the world he’s boss, that is.

  10. Meshuggana — Yiddish for a mad or idiotic person — I love the word and it so fits Trump like a well made glove.

And Lona’s quote of Kim Jong Un is spot on — “the mentally deranged U.S. dotard” — an old person, especially one who has become physically weak or whose mental faculties have declined.

The next time someone within Trump’s hearing in exasperation says “Jesus Christ!”, Trump is likely to reply “Did you call me?”

I realise that Trump was referring to a conservative whack job writer when he said he was the “King of the Jews”, but I wonder how well Trump would take a crucifixion. After all, the Romans hung a sign above the real Christ as he was crucified that said “King of the Jews”.

One other point, Trump repeats that he is not anti Semitic, just like he repeats ad nauseam that he “…is the least racist person…”.  Who is he trying to convince of that?  When one makes claims like these, they are usually the most anti Semitic or racist.

    • Squatch, I wonder if the best counter-strategy to him claiming not to be racist is, rather than ever calling him a racist, to instead analyze his speech and actions and pronounce “that is a racist statement” and “that is a racist thing to do.”  And likewise with anti-Semitic.Those are easier to explain/defend/prove than calling him a racist, and focus the attention better, without getting into anything that can be considered “name-calling.”  Not that he doesn’t richly deserve every evil name in the book, of course (and I have a collection of 163 of them, which I’m confident is not complete.)

    • You are being sued by the SPCM, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Meshugganahs. 12
