I’m buried in paperwork regarding my move.  I’m in a rush.  Stray safe!  TGIF!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:21 (average 4:45). To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Theresa May announces resignation as UK Prime Minister

I thought it would come to this. Brexit has bitten the Bridiots’ asses. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: The House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, took advantage of Donald Trump’s storming out of an Oval Office meeting on Wednesday to hide the nuclear codes, Pelosi has confirmed.

Moments after Trump threw a tantrum and abruptly left his own office, the quick-thinking Pelosi turned to Senator Charles Schumer, who was also present for the meeting, and said, “Chuck, we’ve got to find those nuclear codes and hide them.”

Pelosi and Schumer ransacked the Oval Office for the codes until Pelosi finally located them in a desk drawer under a pile of empty Quarter Pounder containers from McDonald’s.

Dang Andy! If it were only true! RESIST!!

From YouTube (Daily Kos Channel): Rep. Katie Porter calls BS on Ben Carson’s excuse for not knowing his job

And another Republican earned a PhD in Bullshitology. (PhD = Piled higher and deeper). RESIST!!

Cartoon:

Republicans still refuse to believe it.

  1. CNN: Saw this on the news, I’m thinking that the next person will also have a difficult time too, with this issue.

NYer: LOL, Andy. This is hilarious!

DK: Good Lord !!! H’e getting paid to just sit there and be an idiot. Love Ms. Porter’s line of questioning to him. He’s clueless, and getting paid to act?? that way!

Cartoon: Of course! They don’t believe in climate change/global warming or extinctions of plants or animals either. ugh!

Hope you get a chance to rest and relax after doing your paperwork. I’m happy for you in finding a better place. (don’t forget to pack your AC too!) Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Women bring all politicians into the world. And…in 2020, women can also take them out.” ~ Happy D. ~

  2. CNN: At least May has the grace to step down. I’ve never been too fond of her.

TNY: If only that was true!

DK: Clearly Ben Carson doesn’t know his arse from a hole in the ground when it comes to housing. He is unfit for his position.

  3. CNN: Where do they go from here?
New Yorker: Now, that’s a video I want to see, not the Orange Empty spewing scripted BS!
DK: Mr. “Sniffed too much anesthesia” Carson was not put in the cabinet because he knows anything relevant to his job.
‘Toon: “The Book Nobody Read,” by Owen Gingerich is a fascinating read about Copernicus’ book.  Tyco Brahe did read it!  It has a funny kind of thing within its pages, “facts.”  From Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer…,” comes this wisdom that pertains to the GOPIGGIES:  “In order to become a part of a compact whole (as in a movement) the individual has to…give up privacy, INDIVIDUAL JUDGEMENT (emphasis mine)….” Organizations do this, in part, “by interposing a fact-proof screen between him and reality (doctrine)…To rely on the evidence of the senses and of reason is heresy and treason. It is startling to realize how much unbelief is necessary to make belief possible. What we know as blind faith is sustained by innumerable unbeliefs…It is the true believer’s ability to ‘shut his eyes and stop his ears’ to facts that do not deserve to be either seen or heard which is the source of his unequaled fortitude and constancy…No doctrine…will be effective unless it is presented as the embodiment of the one and only truth…The true doctrine is the master key to all the world’s problems.” It already contains all the answers to all the questions that ever may come up. Of Hitler’s followers, Gustave Sresemann said, “[They] pray not only for their daily bread, but also for [their] daily illusion.”

  4. CNN: I give her credit for stepping down like she is. I hope tRump will do the same when he is asked to.
NY: Hilarious. Seen this on going battle on the news. tRump is talking such trash about Nancy. Calling himself a genius. Having his staff say he didn’t throw a tantrum yesterday. It makes me sick watching/listening to a grown up, act like just a no good devilish brat. Always telling lies. What a disgrace to our country.
DK: He’s acting just like his leader…a real dumbas* fool. Wish he’d step down from his post too. Like his master, nothing is being accomplished intelligently with him in there.
Hope you can get your paperwork done without burning yourself out. You’re still recovering.

  5. 4:01 that is one tough-looking bird. A word to the wise: Raptors like to grab kitties’ tummies , swoop them off, and disembowel them. I never lost one that way, but I have known people who did.

CNN – Saw the headline, but no details, before leaving, and haven’t had time to look for any more yet. “If you give people a choice, you have a duty to do what they decide.” Sure – if that’s really what they decided. Have they looked into undue influence?

TNY – Andy, from your pen [keyboard] direct to God.

DKos – Elizabeth Warren taught her everything she knows. Well, OK, not everything, but a lot. And Katie worked darned hard to learn all she could. It paid off.

Cartoon – I doubt that Republicans know what the word “proof” means.

  6. 3:31 Go ahead, TomCat, eat it if you dare 😁

CNN: Brexit has bitten the first Tory leader, Cameron, in the a$$ nearly three years ago and just transferred itself to the next Tory leader, May and will do the same to the next, who, ironically, probably be Boris Johnson, who is together with Farage, the main cause of Brexit. If Boris wins the “leadership”, expectations are Britain will brake away from the EU without any deal on October 31st, just the way Drumpf likes it so he then can put the squeeze on whatever’s left of the UK.

TNY: Wishful thinking, Andy, but I so wish it were true.

DK: Kudos to Katie Porter for respectfully calling out Carter’s BS.

Cartoon: And in 1633, the catholic church forced Galileo Galilei to renounce his support of the Copernican theory. By the way, the heliocentric theory, in which the sun is the centre of the universe, turned out to be wrong too and never proven by either of them, though their observances were closer to reality than the geocentric system in which the universe evolves around the earth.

  7. Thanks, pooped hugs and Amen to all. 24
