LWTC: I just got done watching this earlier this morning.
Good Lord! John did a great job reporting this. I d/not know about any of it, nor the facts behind the death investigations, the lack of education working in this field, nor the people behind this. I was completely caught off guard on how our dead is treated. Call me stunned !!! Passing this vid on too…wow!

Sad that I’m old enough to remember the attack on the Freedom Riders – although vaguely (I was only 13).
With the racist hate-monger currently occupying our Oval Office, he has not only rekindled that kind of hatred – he’s enabled and encouraged it!
Not sure how long it will take to undo the damage he’s done to our country.

John – It’s said that it was Edgar Allen Poe who invented the detective story, and at least two of his involved death. But the speed with which they became popular suggests that the market was already there, just waiting to be tapped into. Of course people are interested in death investigations! That’s probably why so many unqualified people are even interested in running for coroner. As to privatization, I don’t need to beat that horse any more here. We all know what a ratf- privatization is. But, back to my original point, I would think a superior recruiting tool in order for us to get enough candidates to train to be medical examiners would be to advertise training programs in detective novels, in theaters showing detective movies, and on television detective shows. Seriously. There are people out there reading and watching detective stories, pining for a life that exciting. Some of them would jump at the chance if they only knew they would be employable.
Cartoon – I expect you were too young to be at that one. I was only 15 myself. I remember such a series of dire events going on for long enough that it’s difficult for me to remember any one individually.
Oh, and what Nameless said.
We spend gazillions on “defense” but can’t keep death investigation labs properly funded? A refrigerator closed with a belt? A garage with one light bulb? Hairdressers examining corpses? Our society is sick, sick, sick.
