  1. Seriously funny – but not one ten-thousandth of the roasting the Mango Menace deserves.

  2. Great job, Sam!
Loved the whole show, with some sugar & spice blended in nicely there. Kudos to all our journalists for their jobs too!

Cartoon: Watched this on tv., it certainly was a nail-biter! My husband was on the USS Enterprise at the time, and also the USS Coral Sea carrier attack groups of Task Force 77 was also in the South China Sea and provided air cover while Task Force 73 ensured logistic support. There are some events one doesn’t forget.

HI, WWWendy! Hope you get a chance to relax, have a good day, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. 4:04 My vision is better this morning, but I still don’t see any fluting on that column.

Sam – I don’t think I’ve ever seen her looking so formal before. If President Snake Pit does by some chance happen to watch this clip, he won’t hear a word – he’ll be too focused on her cleavage.  (Sorry – some times the costumer in me comes out.)

Cartoon – I’ve spoken about this before. I suppose no one who wasn’t there knew how badly it was handled (in Saigon and by the brass – not the heroes doing the actual work) until there was a Ken Burns. Probably some who were there didn’t know. Maybe even most who were there.

  4. Love watching Sam. She couldn’t of said it any better than she did.
Hope you had a great day and a joyful visit with Wendy.

  5. 2:50 Pillar in strong contrast made it easy.

Thanks for posting Sam’s enjoyable roast, TomCat.

Greatest truth pertinent to the roast: Drumpf is an huge coward.

Question: What are they going to do with the drippings, with that ton of lard?

  6. I called him a worm, yesterday, but “A pin worm in an anus?”  For either of them?  Damned brilliant!!!
Aside from Drumpy being thin skinned, I believe there is another reason he can’t attend these dinners: I’ll bet he can not relate to simple humor. It take a certain capacity for empathy to “get” humor, not the Don Rickles mean sort of humor, just to be able to stand outside one’s usual personal perspective.  Outside his personal perspective is an experiential vacuum.
‘Toon: Sad.  This was the war that moved Nixon to swear that he would not be the first U.S.president to lose a war, and so he went and bombed the hell out of Cambodia.  This was a war we were lied into, nothing new at the time, nor since.  And we are still loosing people in Afghanistan!

  7. Fortunately I’m fortunate to NOT being plagued w/ allergies.

But I treated plenty of patients who share your misery.

I hope that there have been significant advances since I retired back in 1998 (1998? … good Lord, I’m getting REALLY  old!)

    • I think the most significant advances have been in helping people whose allergies are life-threatening (which is not me.)  Bus also, there are significant advances, and then there is access to those advances – not the same thing, alas.

  8. Puzzle — 3:53 I really do hate doing the puzzles on my new laptop.  The whole picture moves when dragging a piece making it very difficult and very time consuming!  Arrggghhhh!!!!!

Full Frontal — Regarding Sarah Huckabee Sanders:”… on the inside, hideous as a pin worm in an anus” — LMAO!!!  Sam has a way with words, eh!

Cartoon — Being from north of the northern border, we were not involved in the Vietnam war.  I remember the television coverage, but it did not have the same import.  JD, thanks for the reference to Ken Burns.  His documentary seems very interesting.

Sorry I did not make it in yesterday — major sinus headache such that I battened down the hatches and did a lot of resting.  Like JD, this might be seasonal allergies related.

    • I used to be told that allergies would ease up after menopause.  Over 15 years and I’m still waiting.

      • Me too!  Still waiting!  If anything, they are worse than they used to be.  I don’t have COPD but I do have asthma and sometimes they are bad enough to make puffers mandatory.

    • I hope I get menopause soon. 26

My allergies hit yesterday.  They set off my COPD.  My eyes are on fire. 13

      • Oh, Lord, yes, COPD would make everything worse.  I know that burning feeling – pretty sure it actually is acid (pH).   Cold water on a cloth can help for a short time.  Cotton or silk works best for me.

  9. Thanks and hugs to all.  OGIM! 19
