The Barr Report

While Grand Jury testimony is secret, there is one exception to that rule.  When the testimony relates to offenses of the US President (Resident, in this case) that testimony is released under seal to the House of Representatives, based on the theory that a sitting President (Resident) may not be impeached indicted.  Enter AG William “Coverup-General” Barr, who got his job after writing his Fuhrer that the Resident inherently cannot obstruct justice.  In addition to his bogus letter, Barr now says that he needs to remove all Grand Jury testimony from Mueller’s report, before releasing a sanitized version.  As Rachel said, this is the Barr Report.

Back in 1992, the last time Bill Barr was U.S. attorney general, iconic New York Times writer William Safire referred to him as “Coverup-General Barr” because of his role in burying evidence of then-President George H.W. Bush’s involvement in “Iraqgate” and “Iron-Contra.”

General Barr has struck again — this time, in similar fashion, burying Mueller’s report and cherry-picking fragments of sentences from it to justify Trump’s behavior. In his letter, he notes that Robert Mueller “leaves it to the attorney general to decide whether the conduct described in the report constitutes a crime.”

As attorney general, Barr — without showing us even a single complete sentence from the Mueller report — decided there are no crimes here.  Just keep moving along.

Barr’s history of doing just this sort of thing to help Republican presidents in legal crises explains why Trump brought him back in to head the Justice Department…  [emphasis added]

Rachel Maddow spent almost 45 minutes in two clips covering this.  In the first clip, she breaks down the history of Grand Jury testimony and introduces the list of questions that trouble her.

In the second clip, she finishes explaining her list of questions.

Her coverage certainly invalidates the integrity of the Barr Report.  Congress must be given the full report, excluding only information about intelligence sources and methods, and ongoing criminal investigations into Trump and his Reich.

  1. I’m sure glad you posted this. I had seen some of it, but this is one that deserves to be seen in full.

  2. The general public needs to see the entirety of Mueller’s report. You can bet your bottom dollar that Barr, being tRump’s master-of-cover-up stooge, won’t release anything that makes his master look bad. Let us read the whole report, and draw our own conclusions! All that matters is whether Agent Orange committed even one impeachable offense; whether or not he was sucking up to Putin is not important.

  3. Great videos with Rachel showing how important this is. We need to read the report, so why is McConnell blocking a resolution for it to be released publicly? We (all) paid for this to come out! as taxpayers.
Barr is a ‘patsy’ for our bogus potus. imho.

  4. You wrote:

“… released under seal to the House of Representatives, based on the theory that a sitting President (Resident) may not be impeached.”

But I think you meant “indicted”.

  5. This is Barr’s 19-page UNSOLICITED Memo (basically auditioning for the AG position) arguing that Trump is above the rule of law:

    MEMO

  6. Barr was put into the job by Drumph, no need to say anything else about him.

  7. Love Rachel’s videos I can’t stand looking at the photo of bArr that you posted. I want to throw some sh*t at it.
He sure fits the title he had back then, “Coverup-General Barr”
Seems to be fitting the title very well again.
We do have rights to see the full report. They’d had better allow it to be released without further editing by the dope.

  8. 12Thank you for Rachel’s Video’s I believe he will take out whatever he wants for a cover Job!

  9. When Barr was appointed to the job by Drumpf, it was all too obvious why he was chosen for it and everyone predicted that this would happen. So no surprises there. Barr sitting there and repeating the “There is no crime” from his letter of application for the job several  months ago is in itself an obstruction of justice which Mueller couldn’t prove without Drumpf admitting to it under oath.

Mueller never questioned Drumpf and we’ll never know why he didn’t even though the signs were there he intended to, unless Mueller’s report is made public without all the redactions Barr will deem necessary. If history repeats itself, Democrats might take this to court, but we all know the courts have been stacked against them by Drumpf too. It all took too long and the only thing to hope for now is that Democrats will keep their 💩 together, not let themselves be divided again and come up with a presidential candidate and with senators that all Democrats will want to vote for, and vote Drumpf and cronies out of office.

In the meantime, watch your backs and resist!

  10. Thank you Nameless.  Correction made. 24
