Sam – Act 1 – I’m not ready to make any kind of a decision at this point. However, likability does not necessarily mean a bad choice – even someone with detailed policies will need superlative appointees to get them well executed. WRT 6% – how many were in that poll? If there were more than 20, she’s ahead of the game, and I’ve seen polls with more than 20. Even at 16, she’s a definite contender.
Act 2 – A prime example of multiple distractions obscuring what is important … especially when everything is important. No cure. Vote Democratic. P.S. I made 2 pussy hats in 2017 – anyone want one? Let me know how to get a shipping address. First two takers get one each.
Act 3 – The tech field is overwhelmingly white, and also overwhelmingly male. So black women get the shortest end of all of the stick. It sucks.

I just hope that does not persist through the voting polls — the polls that really matter! It is time for Americans to put on their “big girl shoes”!
Sam 2 — The real national security threat is Trump and the Republican Reich, NOT Muslims. That this ban, which I consider to be unnecessary, unAmerican (based on professed values) and unconstitutional, is the kind of thing that inflames relations. It builds walls instead of building bridges. Just another example of the Trumpian policy of separating families.
Anderson Cooper: “… the Supreme Court voted 5-4 along partisan lines to uphold the travel ban …” — Oh silly me! I thought the courts, including SCOTUS, were supposed to be impartial and non partisan. There are 5 Republican hacks on that court which is 5 too many!

I personally envision a future (if there is anything left when the Republicans and not eco friendly people are finished with the planet) with all the colours of the rainbow! That would be ever so cool!!!

Sam 🐝: The list of 16 Democratic candidates, the polls and you hitting the nail on the head, TomCat makes me somewhat depressed about America’s, and our future, though it’s early days yet, thank goodness. When will Americans learn than now is the time to elect a competent, strong, progressive candidate who has been shown to fight for the right issues more than a few weeks into the campaign. Age, gender, colour and especially likeability are secondary. Competent progressive leadership is what Americans should be looking for, not a TV personality their mothers got the hots for.
Sam 🐝🐝: A library built half way across the Canadian border over a hundred years ago for purposes like this and now the only place where Muslim family members from different countries from can meet in the flesh? You’ve got to be be kidding, this is so pathetic I have no words for it. Republicans found dozens of new attack lines on Obamacare to take to court, so Sam is spot on to urge people to take to the streets again to protest tis terrible and inhuman ban.
Sam 🐝🐝🐝: The world seems to be at a point where it’s turning back the clock, all out of desperation of white males to lose their power and control of that world. It’s logical that their opposites, powerful black women get a bum rap from this, but its good to see that many black women see it for what it is, know what they’re worth and believe in what they can do, and see a bright future for black women. I hope that these women can speak for the majority of black women and that things will improve for all women equally.

That may be name recognition rather than actual popularity. Both are generally factors. Of course we here recognize both names, but we are informed.
You’re right, but you confirmed my point. We are informed. The vast majority of voters are NOT!
Since we need the vast majority in order to win, at some point – hopefully once we have a narrower group based on policy – we are gong to have to recognize those voters and choose a candidate that uninformed people will vote for. Otherwise, we are right back to 2016.
We need one that BOTH informed and uninformed will vote for.
