Off to my appointment.  No worries.  This one is volunteer related.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:10 (average  5:00).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Take:

From The New Yorker: Capping an extraordinary year for the former television host, the Kremlin has named Donald J. Trump its Employee of the Month for December.

“No one has worked more tirelessly for the glory of the Fatherland than Donald Trump,” the Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an official statement. “He has set a high bar for all Kremlin employees, and for that, we salute him.”

To mark the honor, Trump’s name will be added to a plaque that hangs in the hallway outside the Kremlin’s H.R. office.

Back to straight news, Andy?  RESIST!!

  1. NYer: Gawd, this would be soooo funny, if it weren’t soooo true!!! LOL !

    Cartoon: Ick! and UGH!!

Hope that you have a great day at your meeting, enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks, and Take care, Tom.

  2. 5:43 That is definitely some filter!

From a comment made on Wonkette: A French minister for EU affairs (Nathalie Loiseau) has called her cat Brexit: she has solid reasons.

“He wakes me up every morning miaowing to death because he wants to go out, and then when I open the door he stays in the middle, undecided, and then gives me evil looks when I put him out.”

This is not considered to be a noteworthy case. But it IS noteworthy when Justice Gorsuch writes a concurring opinion with Justice Ginsberg, as well as being the deciding vote in the case. It surprised me.

TNY – Yes, I’d say straight news.

Cartoon – Poor Dr/ Guillot was only trying to invent a means of legal execution which would be more painless than hanging. He hated that his name was on it, but it stuck.

  3. New Yorker:  I’m sure this is proud moment for the Empty Orange, probably brought a tear, or two, to his smarmy face.
‘Toon: It probably did not catch on in the American south because “Strange fruit” as per Billie Holiday’s song is more intimidating.

  4. Sorry, but I have to strongly disagree with your Cartoon.
If republicans actually wanted to use the Guillotine to achieve “racial balance” – that would require a LOT of white people’s heads to be lopped off.
Strongly doubt THAT’S the GOP goal.

    • Republispeak Dictionary:

racial balance: the ideal state that exists after all minorities have been slaughtered.  05

    • That was my first thought too Nameless!  Start with the white supremacists and go from there.  But I also understand the Republispeak Dictionary too.  That is not to say I agree with it because I don’t!  Republicans are white bread but I like multi grain bread, the multier the better!

  5. NY:: I can’t believe their choice. Are they smoking something?? Crazy.
Hope that your meeting went well today.
Also that your mouth isn’t in as much pain as it was from your awful torture at last Monday’s appointment.

  6. 4:21 Definitely no sea legs at the end of my day.

TNY: The Kremlin sure has a huge shortage of personnel and has a lot of  trouble finding good ones at that; I believe Drumpf has been Employee of the Month before. What a role model.

Cartoon: The guillotine is about the only contraption white racists haven’t used in their ‘search for balance’.

  7. Thanks and tired hugs to all. 01

  8. Puzzle — 5:06  With all those people on board, I’m sure you can find someone to help you troll for fishies!  Just make sure that they don’t try to make you the bait!

The New Yorker — Straight news again Andy!  But I don’t know who would get more strokes from this, Putin because he co-opted the so called “leader of the free world” (excuse me but I have to cough up a furball), or Trump because, as an extreme narcissist and idiot, he is in dire need of constant stroking.

Cartoon — See my comment to Nameless’ post above.

Sorry I did not make it in yesterday.  I was very tired and in pain (back).  This morning I was up late and fortunately not tired but still in some pain, but not as much as yesterday.  I have not looked at your post today . .  yet . . . but I hope you are in less pain today.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
