It’s a frigid day here in the CatBox.  The weather snuck up on me.  It’s 9:30 and it hasn’t even climbed to freezing yet.  It will get colder for the next ten days.  Now this is nothing compared to the polar weather a lot of you had last week, but if I’m getting this here, you’re in for a lot worse when this moves east.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me  2:44 (average 4:26).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: A leak of Donald J. Trump’s official White House schedule has left millions of Americans deeply relieved that Trump spends approximately sixty per cent of each day not using his powers as President.

In conversations across the country, Americans called the revelation that Trump devotes the majority of his day to “executive time,” a euphemism for watching TV and checking Twitter, the most reassuring news out of the White House in months.

“Like most of the people I know, the idea of Donald Trump sitting behind his desk doing things that affect the country has me in a state of mortal terror,” Carol Foyler, a resident of Minneapolis, said. “Just knowing that he’s spending sixty per cent of his time doing basically nothing makes me feel somewhat better.”

Amen Andy! RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: How Trump Plays the Press

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. The media should inform us completely and truthfully. They should not just parrot the vile propaganda spewed from the Reich on the right, the Republican Reich. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): THE GAMBLER – Parody

As always, Don had pictured Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten perfectly. RESIST!!

  1. 4:41 The ones I’ve seen are dark gray to black And smart as whips.

Andy – Well, that’s certainly how I felt. Straight news.

RR – He certainly doesn’t play them as a brilliant violinist – he’s not that competent in anything, and his conmen staff aren’t either. This is good advice. Anyone besides MSNBC taking it?

Other PP – Only Don would rhyme “booger” with “Dunning-Kruger.” Beautiful!

Cartoon – Quite likely! But I’m not going there.

  2. NYer: Absolutely, Andy! He’s a bottom feeder.

RR: Excellent video. Yeah, it’s all about him. We don’t watch Faux. I’m not watching the SOTU, however; I will be watching Stacey Abram’s Democratic response to dt. There are 4 Dems who are not attending. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash.

PP: ‘Stuck in his playpen’. lol. Good words, and video. thx!

    Cartoon: Of course!

Oh, wow! We’re at 75 here, right now. You’re right. That cold front is gonna hit here on Friday, looks like. 42/38. Hope that you have a warm, restful evening…take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. “trump’s daily bile”? on page 2! Love it!
    Reich, is always right!!

  4. New Yorker- What little grey matter he may have once had is being further atrophied by watching Faux Crap, Inc.!
RRC: “Just because there are big profits in them.”  And they are going to listen?  Fat chance!
PPC: “Dunning-Kruger!” all over the place!!!!!!!!  I really loved this one!

  5. 2:38 Those mealworms look yummy

TNY: Spot on, Andy. Just imagine how much havoc he could wreak if he really tried to do his job. ?

    Robert Reich:

PP: Don’s got Drumpf nailed again: He lacks the neural networks to know that’s what he lacks. Brilliant.

    Cartoon: Haven’t they already?

Stay warm and well, TomCat. If I had kitty dingles, mine would be castanets too. Not frozen, though. Mummified by the draught.

  6. NYer:  The less he does the better off we are.

    RR:  Spot on.

PP:  Another excellent parody by Don.

Stay warm and thank you TomCat.

  7. NY: Right on Andy. Really a shame that he just can’t be fired, like from a regular job, for not performing or meeting the job’s expectations.
R.R. Great video…He speaks such truth
PP: Great parody. tRump sure is a rotten gambler. Awful that he’s in there playing with so many lives.
    Hope you stay warm there.

  8. Further to yesterday’s lead article What is Executive Time? , MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace leads a discussion that is interesting.

  9. Puzzle — 3:21 Creepy crawly worms!  Yeck!

The New Yorker — Should we be worried about that 60% of his time watching Fox and friends, cartoons and making phone calls on an unsecured cell phone to foreign leaders and friends etc?  After all, that 60% has directly influenced what he does during the remaining 40%.

Robert Reich — Spot on!  As we used to say about Rush Limbaugh . . . take his mic away!  Well, for the narcissistic know nothing idiot in the WH, take his platform away!  As Reich says, this is not news.  The Narcissist-in-Chief takes this as a form of adulation.

Parody Project — Spot on!!! Excellent parody . . . Don almost sounds like Kenny Rogers.

Cartoon — You mean they have not tried it already?

Poor kitty dingles!  Well at least you have music to listen to!  We had a modicum of snow on Sunday and it is still around because it is cold.  I went out to the car to get something about 2100 hours and it was about -8C (17F) but -18C (-1F) with the windchill.  It is supposedly heading down to about -12C (10F) over night.  Part of the problem here on the coast is that it is damp . . . not like it was when I lived up north . . . very dry so -20C (-4F) was quite tolerable.  Did you get some snow to go with the cold?  Maybe you can go out and build a snowcat!

  10. Thanks and Hump Day Hugs to all! 26
