Dec 272018

It’s been a crazy day here in the CatBox.  First, my internet connection was down for most of the morning.  Second, I had chores to complete.  Third, my cannula (the tubes that carry O2 into my nose) broke.  I have around 20 spares, but WWWendy "put them away" in an organizing feist and forgot where.  Four phone calls and four guesses later we found them, but it took over an hour.  Fourth, it’s a mud slow day for news.  Because of all that, this is my only article today.  I plan to be back tomorrow.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:03 (average 5:34).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. 5:05 Sugar stupor in 3… 2… 1…

How frustrating! Glad you did find the cannulae.

Cartoon – And we didn’t learn a thing.

(Naturally I’m a day late. Yes, I know it’s an eight-day holiday and runs 12/26 through 1/2, but each day has its own value, and unity was yesterday. The graphic is the link to the site.)

  2. 4:58, TC…you KNOW I’m trying to catch you!

  3. Cartoon: War is hell.

Glad that you have found your tubes. As I have CRS, I understand completely in finding or losing something, and not knowing where I’ve put the misplaced items. It’s aggravating! Have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
    *Thanks, Joanne for your link/info.

  4. Stuff always gets misplaced when we move!
    Glad they were found!!

  5. This comment from Nancy B @ Care2 on the 26/12/18 Open Thread posted after TC had already been through:

“Thank you Tom cat and I’d like to add a sad note Jim Phillips passed away at 4 AM California time today I had just done my daily check on him. I have it confirmed that he passed away at 4:00 AM Pacific time.  He was a very good friend to Manny on care2 .And I’m glad that I had the opportunity to send him things that he needed while he was in the care facility in this final months of life.

Prayers for Jim and his family, and prayers of thanks for Nancy B.

    • Thanks for the sad news, Lynn.

    • Sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I remember seeing his name on TomCat’s posts in the past. I pray that he is now at PEACE above. My condolences to his family. Thanks for passing the information, Lynn. Plus thanks to Nancy B. too.

    • Thanks for posting Nancy’s sad news about Jim passing away. Jim didn’t post much on PP, I think, but he was a frequent commenter on Care2, where he had many friends, before he fell ill. His kindness and dry humour will be much missed.

    • Condolences to Jim’s family.  They and all that loved him are in my prayers. 35

    • Deepest condolences.  I can’t even begin to grasp how much we will be missed.  He had 3245 friends on Care2 alone.

  6. Afghanistan – where empires go to die.

  7. TC, finding the cannulae was a good thing, now please do not put them in some hidden “very safe’ place where they might quietly languish until who knows when.?
‘Toon:  And then the “exceptional” Americans went in.

  8. Cartoon: Agree with Joanne’s comment, that we still haven’t learned anything.
Sounds like you really had a heck of a day, TC.
Glad you were able to find your cannulaes.
    Hope your Friday is better.

  9. 3:43 (average 5:34) I feel a toothache coming on.

It’s horrible enough to have been made to downsize, but if you can’t find essential equipment after a move, it makes it even worse. Catch up on some relaxation time, even though it is all a bit cramped for now, TomCat.

Cartoon: Funclick hereny thing is, with Drumpf aiming to pull out some troop from Afghanistan, the Russians want it back.

  10. Puzzle — 3:46  Too sweet for me!

Cartoon — The Soviets spent just over 9 years fighting in Afghanistan.  The US has been at war in Afghanistan since October 2001 — over 17 years.  Which country demonstrates more stupidity?  Money see, monkey do?

Moving is a pain! . . . lost and broken stuff is guaranteed unfortunately.  Glad you were eventually able to locate the cannulae.  Now relax!

  11. Thanks all.  TGIF Hugs! 17

  12. RIP, Jim P from care2…..
